  1. Have fuelling problem with the car and no one seems to really have a clue about these cars. Can anyone recommend a "supra specialist" in Scotland or north england? Cheers Dave
  2. Had fuelling checked on wideband at 1.2Bar and was runnin seriously lean above 5000rpm. Already have Walbro pump and was told by "the garage"(in wishaw) to get a fuel pressure regulator but when i phoned Whifbitz he said i shouldnt need one at this level of boost and that somethin else must be wrong to cause it to be so lean. The car is back down running a bar now for safety reasons but im gettin nowhere with findin whats wrong. For all i know it could be runnin lean at a bar as well so i want to get it fixed asap. What is the nearest Supra specialist garage to Glasgow? I know most are in south england but there must be somone in north england/scotland Cheers Dave
  3. Cheers Daz Yeah goin to start with the filter and check pressure before then check it again after iv changed it. Can anyone tell me what the fuel pressure should read on idle and at higher rev points? Cheers Dave
  4. Recently fitted fcd and uprated pump and removed the restrictor ring to get car running at 1.2bar. Had the fuelling checked on wideband at 1.2 and was told it was runnin seriously lean above 5500rpm. Guy at garage said to buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator so i phoned paul at Whifbitz today who said that i shouldnt need one at this boost and that there must be a problem with the car. A few things have been suggested like fuel blockage, current regulator faulty, injectors etc.. What is the most likely reason for this and best place to start lookin for problems?? Cheers Dave
  5. Had a look around for a fitting guide/instructions thread but cant find anything. Does anyone have a link i could use for fitting a fuel pressure regulator? Cheers Dave
  6. Was £40 to get the fuelling checked. Yeah they take the car out a run with the wideband
  7. Removed restrictor ring which was actually 2.25inch and the boost raised from 1bar to 1.2 with second cat still in but the fuellin above 5500rpm went ""dangerously lean"". So once the fuel pressure regulator is fitted should be able to run at a stable 1.2 with 2nd cat still in. Think that will do for now until i get bored again in a few weeks
  8. Cheers for replies Sadly dont know any supra specialists in Glasgow area so car is booked into "the garage" in wishaw tmoro to get fueling checked so ideally ill get rr removed in mornin before it goes in.(im guessin rr is on downpipe section but im no mechanic) Other people have said theyve got 2inch rr's so im guessin mine probably will be a 1.2bar at 2.5inch. I dont have a gauge for Egt and to be honest id not made it a prioroty to check since doin mods. Ill make a point of getin it checked. Cheers Dave
  9. Fitted a fcd and pump this week. The car is now runnin at an indicated 1Bar exactly on gauge. Car has a full exhaust with 1st decat. Lookin at some old reciepts from previous owner the car had a 2.5inch restrictor ring fitted. I dont know what this size of rr would restrict boost to so im curious as to whether the boost could increase "slightly" if i removed it or is it simply the 2nd cat that is holding it at 1bar and not the rr. Still have 2nd cat in so i know it wouldnt increase much if any but i was just curious. What on average would a 2.5 inch restrictor ring limit boost to???? Cheers Dave
  10. Release bearing is rattling and car has 60000miles so may as well replace clutch while im at it. Car is runnin approx 350-380 so im not in need of any expensive uprated ones. Just a basic cheap and chearful is ideal. A standard gear knob to replace the tacky silver one fitted by previous owner. Standard covers for front door speakers. If anyone has any of these send me a pm Much appreciated Dave (My profile name is DAVE-W- so either pm that or ill check this which is my mates)
  11. need to find an insurance company that will insure me 1st
  12. if i had to travel far i'd probobly have to go by myself and i'd prolly buy a duffer, doubt my friend with a supra would want to travel so far.
  13. bear in mind 8k is for the car+insurance and i'd also like to have food and drink afterwards. Most i'd aim to spend is £4000 on the car, there quite a few cars at that price but over 200 miles away.
  14. well im going to have to get a car soon and i'd rather buy something i'd want to keep a hold onto for a long time than another corsa or something like that. I probobly wont be using it as much as my current car as i will be using mopeds for pizza hut instead of my car. Also the student loans i wont have to pay back, its a bursary rather than a load so im just getting money for free i checked the forum and dont see any cars for sale within reach of where i live. also what insurance companies would be good? ive had trouble finding cheap ones that will insure an import car and a driver under 21
