  1. Guys, Thanks for all the help so far, after a good night's rest and reading all your posts, here's what i figure: -Buy the E-manage. -As per your suggestions, plumb a Wideband into it. -Tinker with the fueling a bit to see how much extra juice I can get out of my setup. -Later on, if i decide to go single, buy and install all my parts in advance, then go to the pharmacy to shop for IanC I know working with a VVT supra out here is a challenge, but hey, it's all worth it when i get behind the wheel. And besides, thus far, I found a solution to any problem I've had on this site ... so hey ... I'm sure this e-manage thing will be no different.
  2. Thanks Alex. The things is, my supra right now is BPU.... and has been for a while, and being honest.... right now, its getting a tad boring. I've read on the forum that you can gain as much as 30 HP with a good tune.... so thats the first motive I am not certain about going single as yet, as it really all depends on how I'm going to be able to tune it. Really, at the end of the day, if there's going to be a good chance of me blowing up something, then I'm not going to bother with it. In all honesty, I don't want to be the one to be messing with fuel and timing, I prefer it be done by someone who has some good experience under their belt. That's why I was investigating the possibility of doing logs and based on those getting someone to work on maps for me. I am not certain if that is even possible with the EMU. I know a friend of mine does this with his evo vii, but he uses some system which allows him to mess with his TOMEI ECU.
  3. From my understanding Rob, the Unit is standard, its the harness that I would have to change
  4. A mate of mine is pulling his E-manage Ultimate off a celica GT-4. I am considering buying it off him, but, here's my problem, I live in the caribbean and getting someone to Map it for my VVTI is a bit of an issue. Can you guys make any reccomendations in terms of what would be the next best steps? Can I log data send it up and get someone to send me maps? Thanks
  5. Guys, A quick one. been looking at buying 3 60mm guages. EGT, Fuel Pressure and Oil Pressure. All the mojor Jap brands(Greddy, HKS, Blitz, Defi) seem quite expensive. What brand of guages have your worked with that are fairly inexpensive... yet accurate? One such option I have come up with is Autometer. Are you guys aware of any others? THanks
  6. Can anyone provide the part numbers for the front and rear brake pads for a 98 J-Spec TT. Thanks

    water injection

Just the response I was looking for Dave. Now I can justify shelling out for the vari-cool kit. Thanks!

    water injection

I don't think any of us really doubt its effectiveness. My question was really that if sprayed in excess, could it cause damage to your engine? I was actually thinking of buying one of the non progressive coolingmist kits:(http://www.coolingmist.com/pagedisplay.aspx?feature_key=standard). It apparently comes with a boost sensitive switch and you have to let them know how much horsepower you currently have so they can provide the correct jet size

    water injection

Guys, I've read alot of positive reviews on water/alcohol/meth injection. A mate of mine was telling me that if too much is sprayed, it could actually blow your engine. I am not mechanically inclined, so please escuse the fact that I am unable to explain why. Is this true? He was also telling me, there are 2 types of kits, the fixed and progressive rate ones and was explaining that the progressive ones are better. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks Dudley
  10. Nic, I actually unknowingly posted from an old account and hence the screw up with my profile. I am now Back in the Carribean and sea freight from the US to here is volume based and relatively cheap
  11. Actually doing that today ... finally got my paypal setup
  12. Hey Guys, I have one of these on order and would like to place a seperate order for the guages. Can anyone advise what size guages it holds? Also, I currently have only a boost and water temp guage. Any suggestions on what 3 guages I should put in?? Thanks
  13. Thanks Guys. I also found this offset calculator tool; It's great: http://www.marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html
  14. ok, maybe if I phrase the question differently.... what offset wheels whould I be looking for ultimately?
  15. Thanks SupraGirlie. Sorry, by stick out, I didn't necessarily mean extend outside of the body. I meant whether it would be way in under the fender ..... or outside the body, causing rubbing
  16. I guys, I have a 98 J-spec TT and I'm in search of a set wheels. Based mostly on the compromise between budget and quality, I have narrowed what I want down to the following: http://www.1010tires.com/wheel.asp?wheelbrand=Tork&wheelmodel=Imagine+%2D+Hyper+Black http://www.1010tires.com/wheel.asp?wheelbrand=Tork&wheelmodel=Matrix+%2D+Hyper+Black I have a few concerns with these which I would appreciate some help in ironing out - Will they clear the front brakes. - Is 9" enough width for the back? If so, should I fit a 265 or 275 tire on there? - How can I estimate how far they will stick out? This is cause I am looking for something which sits almost flush with the body. I know that with things of this nature we can never be 100% accurate, but any help you can give would be greatly appreciated THanks Dudley
  17. Hi Guys, Grateful if anyone could temm me whether the lower engine mounts (on the crossmember) for a vvti 98 TT is the same as the US-Spec ones. Thanks Dudley
  18. Homer, Is this true? I have a double de-cat on my 98 TT and it currently hits fuel cut. Gonna get rid of the fuel cut soon and would like to know whether I need to fit a 1.2 bar restrictor ring. Thanks Dudley
  19. Scooter, I have the twin opposing pistons type.
  20. thanks scooter. I know the supra TT had a brake upgrade in 95 or 96. Mine is a 98, so it has the sligtly bigger brakes. Are these still smaller than the US brakes?
  21. Guys, How do I know what offset rims I should buy for my 98 j-spec TT? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-Ruff-Racing-278-Wheels-350z-300zx-Eclipse-Mustang_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43958QQihZ003QQitemZ130145595087QQtcZphoto Took a look at the wheels above, but they specify that they would only fit a non turbo supra. What is the difference between the TT and NA? How am I certain that whatever rims I purchase would fit my car?
  22. Thanks for all the help everyone
  23. So with the following tyre sizes Front: 235/40 Rear: 265/35 I should be ok?
