  1. Nic, am I right in assuming the the 2jz-gte vvti aristos use the same turbos as the supra vvtis
  2. Found these part numbers http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=33078&d=1144779962
  3. I would think they are the same because I have been reading loads of MKIV articles and haven't seen anything regarding a turbo difference
  4. Thanks Alex. The thing is, in the technical area I posted this thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=136536 Chris Wilson suggested one of my turbos may be bad and hence what I am looking to do is replace it with a ct20a from a non-vvti. This really is just a temporaty measure until I save up to go Single later this yr or next yr
  5. Guys, Quick question: Are the stock turbos on the J-Spec vvti different from those on the J-Spec non-vvtis ? Thanks Dudley
  6. They're gone already mate .... but thanks for the guidance
  7. Thanks, but at that cost, I might just get the turbos from here: http://www.importbitz.com/turbo.htm and wait until i can afford to go single
  8. in a previous thread, I was explaining how my car made boost ... and Chris Wilson suggested that one of my tubbies may be bad. We haven't pulled it out to check as yet .... however I would like to find out where/how do i Hybrid my stock ct20a and what sort of cost do i expect. Thanks
  9. will be sure to do so. thanks for all the help
  10. Read that bit, guess i was just hoping i won't have to pull out the turbos as per chris's suggestion Got the IC piping checked and all seems well; so on Saturday, we're gonna pull out the turbos and have a look
  11. Just read here: http://www.angelfire.com/planet/relation23/ CT20A ... they seem to be the stock twins
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-TOYOTA-2JZGTE-Stock-TWIN-TURBOS-2JZ-SUPRA-TURBO_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118QQcategoryZ33742QQihZ008QQitemZ180196997174QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V
  13. A friend was telling me that pressure usually drops when you install a large FMIC on stock turbos. Could the problem therefore be the size of my FMIC? I have a Blitz kit installed Part # Bl 12339; it can be pictured at this link: http://www.mvpmotorsports.com/Templates/frmTemplateM7.asp?SubFolderID=214&SearchYN=N Notice that it is 4" thick, actually read somewhere that it is the largest core which can fit behind the stock bumper
  14. I haven't eliminated the fuel cut, therefore, if I were really getting as much as 1 bar boost, I would've felt when the fuel cut kicks in
  15. The cat after the turbo is dug out followed by a full 3" downpipe
  16. Thanks chris ... will look into this Do you have any reccomendations on the easiest method of getting this checked?
  17. Slightly under .5 bar .... then you feel a slight delay in the accelerationg .... and up to .8 bar. Question, do u get 1.2 Bar in all gears?
  18. Thanks mate. will pull out the guards and do a thorough check
  19. I have a greddy RS Bov fitted which vents to the atmosphere. I have checked the IC pipes and they all seem to be fine. I see .8 Bar between 4000 and 5000 Rpm Also, since installing the new FMIC and Bov, I have noticed that the car sometimes makes a loud popping sound from the exhaust every now n then. It appears to happen just when you are beginning to spool and you let off the throttle
  20. Posted this in the Supra Chat area, but on second thought, i think it is much better suited for here: Hi Guys, I own a 98 vvti J-spec. I've read on here that with just a full decat, you should get 1.2 bar of boost. Right now, I would consider myself at full BPU, however I only get .7 to .8 Bar. The parts I currently have installed are: -Full De-cat with Blitz Nur Spec with no Restrictor Ring -Walbro Pump -IK24 TRD Iridium -HKS Filter -Blitz FMIC In second gear, I get up to .7 Bar and in 3rd and 4th I get between .8 and .9 Bar. I find generally the car doesn't feel strong at Low RPMs and the changeover point of the turbos is VERY apparent Can anyone help? What can I check? Thanks

  22. Thanks for all the responses Guys. Check this out: http://www.autogeek.net/mopomikit.html
  23. I've had 18" deep dish alloys fitted for the last 2 months or so. Clean these regularly, and have been noticing and increased number of scratches on the lip from wiping with my chamois. If ther anyway to get rid of these, or if not at least prevent further scratching. THanks
  24. Have them on my car with Tein Super Streets and Cusco tower bars; they do make the ride a bit harsher over bumps and if u drop in a hole. But in terms of the improvement in handling, all I can say is DAMN! The car feels sooo much sharper.
