Newer vvti ones (like the one in your pic) comes with a single whilst the older non-vvt come with twin-parallel
  2. Guys, I'm after a T-61 turbo ... seen at the link below: http://www.boostlogic.com/xcart/product.php?productid=8&cat=27&page=1 u Have a few questions and would greatly appreciate some help. What's the difference between E-Cover and S-Cover? I am looking for as quick spool as possible, so I am assuming it is best to go wih the smallest exhaust housing. But, How does this limit me in terms of the amount of power I can build? THanks EDIT: Been reading of something called compressor surge which occurs when the exhaust housing is too small ... can anyone touch on this?
  3. Thanks for the hookup Chris. Already have the emanage stored away, but I guess I don't have much of a choice at this point
  4. Hey mateys, Just changed a bad 2nd turbo on my vvti TT. Luckily, this time around I could get the 2nd turbo off a mate of mine. But, in my mind, i know its a used turbo and I don't expect to get alot of time out of it. Been exploring the option of going single and I am settled on a Precision T-61 turbo, tial wastegate, PE 650 CC injectors and Emanage Ultimate. Problem is .... right now, I live out in the caribbean and around here everyone throws in a wideband and uses and Apexi S-AFC to adjust fuel. I have asked around before on the forum an it seems the best emanage tuner is IanC, but he no longer does it. Ultimately, I would like get in contact with someone who is versed on the EMU so that I can probably log some data, send it over to them, they would then send me back a map... and we repeat the process until we get it right. I know this is not the perfect scenario, but its the best solution I have for now
  5. finally got around to pulling out the twins. The front turbo was in perfect condition, but found that the compressor wheel of the back turbo was damaged and there was ALOT of shaft play. Swaped it out for a used turbo which seems to be in good workign condition. Gave the car its first run and found that I only hit 1 bar at most with no Restrictor Ring fitted. Question I have here is, should I still fit a restrictor ring even if the car is not doing as much boost as it should do? THanks
  6. Thanks mate, somehow in searching I missed that post
  7. Would installing and correctly adjusting one of these on a BPU supra with a Walbro Pump be a good upgrade Was speaking with a mate of mine who owns one of those 2.5 vvti single turbo soarers. His car only has a catback, FMIC and Walbro installed. He was telling me that by installing one of these and setting the pressure to 38 PSI, he noticed that his car went through the RPMs much faster
  8. looking to get generic vacuum hoses .... what size and lengths should I ultimately get?
  9. Agreed mate, but if they're being honest regarding the thickness of their hoses, i wouldn't mind paying the extra coin
  10. Guys, I have a top radiator hose already. But is this kit worth buying? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-Supra-TT-Mark-IV-silicone-vacuum-hose-kit-BLUE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247QQcategoryZ33553QQihZ014QQitemZ330205242787QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V Thanks
  11. I got x = (a(.95b+.05)) / (y-.05)
  12. Hey Guys, Been having some boost or should I say 'lack of boost' problems with my BPU Sup. Been at an alternate location working for some time ... but now i'm finally back to check her. One of the things a mechanic friend suggested to me is to try fitting an EBC to eliminate the stock solenoids as these can cause boost problems. Been thinking, is it worth it to go out and buy a new EBC (had one fitted but it was faulty) when I may not necessarily need it? is there any way I can check the solenoids? Thanks Dudley
  13. A bit of topic ... I know ... but in looking through your garage .... I noticed your BPU does the quarter in 13.340 versus 13.1 for your Single. I would've thought that there would be a larger time difference
