Bring on teh Apocalypse. You realise this will mean adapting our supras to cope with the conditions. I'm taking my inspiration from stuff like this:
-
A wood Chisel and a hammer, real shallow angle so as nor to gouge the metal, tap tap tap. Then when its all chiseled off I use a Rag and solvent (thinners, petrol, diesel and tar remover work well) to remove the black marks it leaves behind on the floor. Some people go on about freeze spray, dry Ice and CO2 fire extinguishers, but that seems like more hassle than its worth. Some use a heat gun and a paint scraper but I find that leaves too much residue, so you end up scraping it for ages to get the residue down to a point to where you can wipe it off with solvent and a rag. There is no real easy way I've found yet, Its just a pig of a job.

Just been (begrudgingly) removing my interior, looks like there is not as much sound deadening in the MK4 as there is in most cars, For sure in my MK2 I removed 2 tesco's carrier bags full and it weighed in at 15-20kg (cant remember exactly) It might not seem worth the ballache of chiselling it all off the floor, but weight reduction is a game of 'every little helps' each bit of plastic trim you unscrew weighs grammes, all together it weighs kilos. And its not just weight, its a safety aspect too in a track car, I don't need to tell anyone here tar burns well. I'll weigh how much tar crap there is in the MK4 when I get round to it, I'm not even halfway through stripping it yet, as I'm still using it as a daily I've only done the back. So far I have removed: -Rear Seats & hinges (foam base weighs very little, folding back weighs loads) -Electric Aerial -Rear Wiper, Wiper motor -Rear Speakers -all interior plastic trim, bits of foam, wood from the B pillars back -Rear seatbelts -Passenger seat (might go back in ) -Spare wheel, tools, -Charcoal canister, factory air box and ducting -Some of my fat, diet includes: cut down on certain fizzy drinks that will not be named, less fast food, skip lunch. Hopefully I can go from 80kg to 75kg in a month or 2. To go: -everything in the front except Dash and door cards -Air conditioning (at the end of summer, may as well do it now the way the weather is...) -Automatic gearbox etc 5 speed manual is lighter... -swap 2 ton factory seats for buckets -add a little weight with harnesses in place of factory inertia reels -lexan 1/4 windows and hatch window when i find a source of lexan... Right, off out to take some pics, will upload them tonight. Oh yeah, suppose now I got a MKIV (told you idiots have money too ) I better pay my membership fee when I get paid at the end of the month...

Don't think it looks that bad... wheels aren't my bag but its not hideous... have you seen some of the chome bling bomex/veilside fast and furious wannabe monstrosities that are about? 2 tone makes it look more like a competition car and not just something to tart about in... ...shame its not stripped, caged and sponsored.

N/A Auto= drifts just fine, 1st is limiter bouncing, second is a little long, you have to be going quite fast. If thats the purpose of the car convert to 5 speed manual. Turbo Auto: if you cant get this sideways then you need a lobotomy. I hate these 'will it drift' topics. No offense, but imagination is the key word. I've got odd stuff like forklifts, transit vans, 7.5 tonne trucks, and even a bedford rascal van (oh and a hillman avenger 1.5 auto) sideways so a supra thats born for stuff like this sure as hell will, even if its a lowly N/A auto. If drifting is your bag then driftworks is probably the place to talk about it, as people on owners clubs seem to get offended by anything other than quarter mile runs...

Just want to know how many of you guys have airbags, cruise control or TEMS, and what year your car is. Mine is a 94 Supra J-spec, its pretty boggo as it has none of the above! Just wondered what kind of options came with what years and what was popular. I've had a look at some specs which are good for seeing what years came with what gearbox, diff ratio and roof option but its not too clear on the smaller things like that.

Can't believe no-one has mentioned the 15-20 kilos of tar sound deadening thats stuck to the floor under the carpets. When I do mine I'll try and get some example weights. My mk2 supra weighed in at 1200kg dead on, from about 1315kg, after I removed all the interior trim (except the main dash, doorcards and front seats which were still stock) engine damper and ALL the A/C system removed (including the evaporator under the dash), all the tar sound deadening, all the stereo, amp and all speakers, charcoal canister. Could have got lighter, had I replaced the seats with buckets, polycarb'd the windows, removed the bumper support bars, etc etc.

Haha Rock on! I work just up the road, at liscombe park. Every time I see it its bieng driven 'properly' Why the transporter, did you break something?
-
Saw the car (same one I always see) on a transporter going the opposite way from me (into stoke hammond on the 4146) in bucks, about half 10 this morning! Its red with a Black TRD (I think) bonnet and a GT wing. I drive the Black one with mismatched wheels on it

Hahaha I almost feel sorry for these people, you can tell they are chavs just by looking at them regardless of baseball cap etc. They just look like inbred scum. They are our equivalent of trailer trash. -this smilie pretty much sums it up.
-
Even with the conditioning make sure its filtered well before its used in the genny(s) I've seen that algae stuff clog trucks/vans before. Its odd to think that something can live and grow in diesel.

I'll have a skinny Latte and a goats cheese and spinage panini please, Now where did I park my Peugeot 307CC again? :D Good topic tho. What is odd, is I know girls that are fastidious about their cars, but don't mind if the car you drive is a bit scruffy, as long as you have a passion for it. And the girls that bareley know one end of thier car from the other give you sh*t becuase you havn't fixed the broken aerial yet, or has a scrape on the rear quarter painted etc etc.

You could have a gas turbine engined F1 car, some b@stard would come up with something that went faster and handled better... Its important to have a car that: A] you feel good/comfortable driving -A car is like wearing an outfit. Lets face it as nice as porches and ferraris are round a track I for one would feel like a poser stock broker or something just driving it around town. Its like wearing a tuxedo for a trip to tescos, whereas the supra is a good all round smart-casual : B] You can afford. no point busting your ass trying to afford a car that you'll then struggle to insure/fuel/service/repair. That takes the fun out of it. C] A car you can see yourself keeping. for at least the forseeable. If you start wondering what your going to get next after only having the car a while. I'm a bit left of centre with cars. Most people have one pride and joy and are 'Monogomous'. I'm more of a Bigamist when it comes to cars, If I really like something I'll keep it, and still get the next one. Horses for courses and all that, cant have any one car that fulfills every request. Thats why I have about 7 cars at the moment! Oops!

They are awesome, for the sound alone, and funnily enough the reason I am posting this. (Long story but in a nutshell I wanted a camaro, ended up with a MK2 supra instead, and the MK2 led me to MK4 and here) Don't expect it to handle particularly well but they are good cars, and there are loads of aftermarket parts available in the US. The interior and rear arch rust is usually the worst bit, but that one looks to be ok. Do it. doooooooooo eeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

I didn't turn into a pumpkin. That was an anticlimax. At least I can still post.

..or not?

Pumpkin time....

...after 20 posts?

There are sh*tloads of fonts on the internet, that random people with far too much time on thier hands make. You can get the 'ford sierra' font so I'd imagine you can get the supra font.
-
Yeah what the hell, if the rain makes you wanna get rid of your supe then do so and buy some boring 4wd yoke! rain is half the fun What would make me get rid? a straight swap for a Lotus Esprit V8 twin turbo, straight swap for a threesome with Jordana Brewster&Lexa Doig. Everything has a price though, especially if its easily replaceable with another one.

I dunno about burnouts, (there is a time and a place, but popping a burnout isn't the hardest thing to do) but please don't associate drifting with chavs! Its bad enough already, you get bellends buying shitty S13's and BMW 325i's who then go and blatantly drive like penii on public roads in the most blatant of places, its rare but it gives actual drifters a bad name because these people are too thick to make an accurate judgement about what is the CORRECT time and a place, the only saving grace is this works both ways, and they usually stack it and go back to driving a crappy shopping cart again.
