  1. there's a few trailers on ebay, if not pistonheads have a few as well...
  2. Brooklands? I've been to Beulieu when i was a wee nipper - i thought it was great.. Not been to the other one though.. Craig.
  3. Bit early! - i've only just got to work... London's like a Ghost town. But seeing as i'll be out drinking copius amounts of alcohol later... Happy new year to all :-)
  4. Chris - Slightly off topic, but any idea what my Ultima would be like on the track? I'm thinking of doing one in the summer at some point - but need to get the car all checked out and tuned properly first - i'm convinced it's overfuelling, and i can't seem to judge the oil level on the dipstick as it's hitting the tube on the way out - taking it to a specialist up the road when it's warmer! I'm guessing the brakes would need to be upgraded at the minimum? - I lost out to a set of AP's yesterday.. gutted. Craig.
  5. There's quite a few car's out there.. Cerbera's MR2's Supra's M5's M3's Esprit's Elise? Subaru's Evo's Skyline's Lotus 7's? NSX? - don't think they are that cheap yet?.. CL500 AMG CL600 - i nearly bought one of these RS4, RS6? We should create a list in order of fastest 0-60 times......
  6. At work on Christmas Eve.. The city's a ghost town. Leaving in an hour or so, then on to the more serious stuff, like shopping... i think i should of possibly started a little earlier......
  7. i know it's slightly different, but i ran my ldv le mans van on no oil for about 75 miles.. still fine ;-) - this was mainly becuase it leaked out 24 litres of the stuff getting back from le mans, and i refused to stick anymore in it. lol. I would suspect that the oil filter was not on correctly and it's leaked out from there... but you'll soon know. I'm not a mechanic by any means - but i'm sure someone else will be on to have their say in a bit!
  8. personnaly i would clean up the area, then try re-fit the oil filter and check it's tight. Once that's done, stick some oil in it and see if you can see it leaking anywhere. Once your happy start the car and keep your head under the hood and check for any leaks. If it's ok and not leaked anything within say 20mins of idling - take it for a very short drive and check for any leaks. I very much dought you've damaged anything if you shut if off when you saw the oil light come on. Craig.
  9. I've just removed a set of what i believe are black cobra Clubman's from my Ultima as i've replaced them with some original seats. I'm not too sure what they are worth? - They are in very good condition with no rips/fading etc. The seat cushion on the drivers side has come loose - not a problem as it just means if you knock it leaving the car it can sometimes fall out.- the previous owner fixed this in place with some sticky back tape. Offers? Unfortunalty i've not taken any photo's of them yet - but can be seen in the car in a few shots here http://www.tripkings.co.uk/ultima - one pic they look dirty but that's only because i was in le mans and they were covered in dust. Thanks Craig.
  10. I'm trying to find somewhere that can chrome my exhaust ends on my ulitma. There only about the length of my arm, and about 4 inches wide. And trying to find out how much they will cost to get done? I was looking at buying a "Kit" of ebay, but i'm pretty sure it'll look crap and it won't work. Only problem i have is i'm jubious of sending them off - as if they get lost i'll be right in the smelly stuff... Any advice? Thanks Craig.
  11. This is one of my favourites :-) http://tripkings.co.uk/ultima/large/0030.jpg
  12. Can't get a roof unfortunatly. I was thinking of getting one made, but apparently that routes already been tried and failed. But part of the fun is having no roof!
  13. it has a chevy small block with holley 4 port carbs. Don't think it has a choke at all - car had only been running for about 5-10 minutes when i shot that vid. Compared to the cerbera this is amazing. The handling is outragous and so is the tourque. With the cerb occasionaly it would catch you out as the back would spin on roundabouts etc with too much right foot, but this just sticks. Only thing i miss is the roof in this weather :-) but the heater's good, and i've driven it in the rain once (as long as you go over 20mph you dont get wet. Definatly taking it to some meets next year :-)
  14. Attempted to start up my Ultima spyder today, as it's been sitting in the garage a while now as the weather's been crap. First attempt, car starts and then stops shortly after. Second attempt, car start no problem but stalls when you let off the accelerator, Third attempt, car starts, leave the revs for about 30 seconds just over 1k, and then car seems to tick over nicely. Obviously i checked all the fluids first and all seemed fine. Had a little bit of smoke the first time it started but this cleared pretty much instantly - prob just crap in the exhausts. Here's a vid of it idling - think it sounds ok? or in need of a slight tune? http://www.tripkings.co.uk/ultima.avi i'll get another one in the daylight tommorrow when it's nicer and i've cleaned it, and fitted the seats. then all i'm waiting for is the steering wheel adaptor and i can take it out for a drive again :-) On a seperate note, i'd like to charge the battery to give it a little more juice. I've noticed its a sealed tall thin type of battery - does this make a difference to the charger i use, or can i just use the normal halfords charger and leave it in battery type "sealed" ? Many thanks Craig.
  15. Tip 1, Ignore the maps.. You always get lost - that's the fun.. Tip 2, Take lot's of Euro's - i put everything i could on card and still managed to spend 400 euro's in 4 days just going to the cafe's etc. Tip 3, Buy a 3 day bus pass - very cool as you can just hop on or hop off at stops all over the place. Tip 4, We got the waterbus direct to St Marks square from the airport - cost 25 euro's each. A Taxi costs 100 euro's and is only 10 minutes quicker. Tip 5, most of the restaurants were empty, but were very nice - price's ranged from 10-25 euros for a starter, and 15-40 for a main. Tip 6, Check the bill - they automatically add 12% service charge, then ask you for a tip on top! - especially if you put it all on card. Tip 7, Found a superb place on the island below st marks square, road called Fondamenta Nani, by the bridge - just by Zattere water bus stop (you can see it on google). It's a small bar that has loads of food to try and loads of wine or spirits. It's a must. Send me a PM and i'll post you over the Map's i bought.. Craig.
  16. I missed all the flooding :-( Would of been the only thing i enjoyed.. Was freezing cold, rained for 4 days, and everything was very expensive. Had my eyes gauged out by more umbrella's than i thought possibly exsisted, and had to pay €75 for some gloves that weren't waterproof. Other than that it was nice when the rain paused and i managed to get some pics.. http://www.tripkings.co.uk/venice

  18. Car has been relisted due to time-waster. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220305752116 Thanks Craig.
  19. Thank's Konrad, But i can't accept a twin turbo supra in part-x for it.... I've PM'd you.. I've got msn on at work and at home so some times it doesn't log out correctly and gets stuck. Craig.
  20. Pictures now up.. Have 72 watchers... :-) feel free to post about the link... Craig.
  21. Good spot.. Stupid ebay... Just re-adding them all now..
  22. Now up on ebay.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220298425046 As for price - we are ideally looking at anything over £1500 possibly more, i have no idea how to value it... i'm going on the fact you can buy an astra gte that's nackered with no mot for 1k - so this with mot/free tax, classic number plate etc should get some interest? who knows... :-(
  23. Thanks Guys, i would keep it just because of the all money i've spent on it all in all i think owe's over 5k and i know i won't get near that much back -It's just had a replacement rear axle, new master clutch cylinder and some other bits that broke after a drive to Hertford (cost around £700). But it has been fun and a learning experience.. but my new job and the ultima comes first now :-( and i don't want to see it get trashed in the rain/snow/sleet/etc..
  24. Well, after much discussion i've decided i can no longer keep my hotrod. This is mainly due to the fact i've recently started a new job and don't have the time to finsh it and it's no longer parked in the garage as i've got the ultima, and it's going to get trashed over the winter. Most of you would of seen my thread.. But we basically purchased the car with the intention of restoring it and taking it to Le Mans. However due to a list of problems it had longer than my arm, this was never the case. We've spent many a ££££ on this, and although it's now got a full MOT and is tax exempt (Has historic tax) it's still not finished as the interior needs addressing and so does the body work (Although it can be driven without a problem, and still looks good from 3 meters with glasses) I'm going to be putting the car shortly up on ebay to the highest bidder, and i will update this with more information shortly. Some pics of the car and works can be found here: http://www.tripkings.co.uk/humber Craig.
  25. oh ok..i'll give that a miss then...
