  1. pics taken of all the stuff i've got to tonight.. and just uploading... so check in 5. http://www.tripkings.co.uk/stuff Looks like the cams that have been in the box for the last 8 years are actually jap ones, unless the UK ones have JZ on them.
  2. "How much for the tool kit? Is it complete? " - Not sure on this as yet - will check garage tonight..
  3. Thanks :-) it's a 2.0 XE engine, but not too sure what its ut of. I think it's either an Astra or Cavilier SRi. It's done a 16k since a rebuid and has had kent cams etc put on it. Not too sure on power - but been told it's about 180hp.. Having it rolling road tuned on Wednesday, so will find out. The traction control and launch is pretty nifty and it likes spitting out flames and popping which makes me think it's overfuelling. Thanks Craig.
  4. One day i'll find a car and keep it... http://www.tripkings.co.uk/westfield Not as disgustingly quick as the Ultima but pretty scary blasting round a country lane. I keep on having this urge to touch the ground whilst it's going along - sure thats not good. And the other thing i learnt fairly quickly - the exhaust apparently gets quite hot and shouldn't be used as a support to get you out of the passenger seat..... Craig,.
  5. I'll try and grab some pics today/tommorrow of all the stuff.... Can't beleive your going to make me open up the cams.... If i get eaten by a tarantula i won't be happy....
  6. I'll try and find the wind deflectors in the other garage tonight. I'm sure they are in there somewhere. They may be quite akward to post mind you....

  8. Waiting to be shot down... I'm just pondering about getting something with a bit more grunt (Missing my 5.7 v8 Ultima, or my Supra, or my TVR - not missing the evo.....)... So here's the details: It's a UK Car 1993 Carlos Sainz GT4 Model Number 2836 Colour Turquoise Mileage 74k. Full Service History (Toyota up to 68k then was stored off road for 4/5 years, Purchased by myself and serviced at local garage) MOT till around November 2010 Pics here: http://www.tripkings.co.uk/gt4 The interior is immaculate, everything works as it should including the air con and it's in completly original condition with the exception of the sound system. Externally it has a carbon fiber trim (not sure if this is standard or not) It's had 3 owners, the last one was a freind of mine who's had the car since 1995. He had the car locked in his garage for 4/5 years as had a company car and forgot about this one. Since i've owned it the only thing i've needed to change has been the charge cooler pump as it was making a dreadfull noise - all fixed now. The sound system (although old) was upgraded in 97/98 to have full alpine speakers/amps/multi-changer and stereo. Bad bits... The only downside, as the car was in the garage i has picked up a very small dent on the front left wing, a larger dent on the back wing by the floor behind the wheel and a slight scrape along the other front wing and door. I've not had a chance to get anyone out to look at these, but a guess is it will cost about £200-400 to get fixed properly. - I'm hoping to get someone round this weekend to quote and hopefully do the work. The rear parcel shelf needs recovering (very small job - just not had a chance to get any matching cloth as yet). (I do have the original parcel shelf as well, although you'll loose the rear alpine speakers) Think that's about it...I'm not 100% exaclty what the cars worth as it varies from person to person, but i am looking for around £3,250 for it, or swaping/chopping it in for a open top car (Westfield or type). Many thanks, Craig.
  9. I had a cerbera - loved it when it worked. Although the first service cost me £2,200... After a year it started to have a few nogly issues.. like for example the windows wouldn't open, or the door button stopped working meaning it was a mare to get in to the car. When it rained it got wetter in the car, that it was outside. It then had a slight oil leak, when it went back to tvr they said do what most other tvr owners do - use some mastic. if that doesn't cure it then it's an engine out job. Again - i loved it. but it was more a toy than an everyday car. and the sound............hmmmmm
  10. Here we go.... Just bought a new place, and i'm trying to decide on what system to go for.. I've already decided i'll have either a 50" or 54" tele of some kind.. Now i'm looking at sound etc.. I've had so many people tell me different things my head is like a spaghetti junction. Originally i wanted the BOSE lifestyle 48 system with the small cubes so that i can play music in two rooms and have an all-in-one setup, but that was just too much money unless i buy a second hand system for about 1k. Now i've also been told i should get the BOSE speakers, a seperate amp, seperate blue-ray, and a SONOS wireless system to put in the rooms. I'm not too fussed about what the kit looks like as i'm having it all built in behind a stud wall (apart from the rear 2 speakers that will be on the wall). I'd like sound in main room 24ft by 20ft, dining room 12ft by 18ft, possibly kitchen and something portable to put in another room should i wish. Anyone have any suggestions, was ideally looking at getting the system for less than 2k, (not including tv) Thanks Craig.
  11. Having a mare trying to Tax the GT4... Basically the chap who i purchased the car from (a freind of mine) has lost the V5 as the car's been in the garage for so long. Although the car is currently sorn he has binned the tax renewal form so i can't even use that online. I've been to the post office with MOT and Insurance but they need the V5. I've been the to DVLA, but they have said i need to fill out a V62 form and they will then write to the owner to confirm. Looks like i can't drive the car for a month until i get the details... :-(
  12. i had a spelling mistake on the last thread.. Hopefully going to get the alarm fixed and the windows working tonight.. then it's just a case of changing the Charge cooler pump (making a noise but working) and then sorting out the bodywork. It's obviusly not very quick but quite cool to drive with the pop up lights :-)
  13. yep :-) came up quite well.. The interior is immaculate. - well, apart from the parcel shelf (I've got the original to put back if i wish)
  14. Well, this is my new car... http://www.tripkings.co.uk/gt4 I've now got it MOT'd - all it needed was a new tyre and some wiper blades :-) Has a full toyota service history - but has managed to get a few dings in the last few years - i hope to get these out :-)
  15. I'm sure someone will be able to help with this :-) I've bought a winter project (celica Carlos sainz gt-4 1993), which is all good with the exception of the windows don't work. The previous owner has told me that he had trouble with the clifford alarm that was fitted - so he had it disconnected. (it's an old clifford alarm - no idea what model - how can i tell this?) I'm guessing this is why the windows don't work? Yesterday i had the dash off and found several boxes... http://www.tripkings.co.uk/gt4/large/0020.jpg The white block is a fuse block - with the fuses missing. I've checked this and there's definately power running through them. I also noticed a taped up power cable (to the left above big red fuses)... Shall i just stick some fuses in it and see what happens? Where do i connect the other taped up power cable too? Many thanks Craig.
  16. I'm trying to find some parts for my new winter project - K-reg carlos sainz celica gt-4 Anyone know where i can get any bits for it other than ebay? I'm ideally after a trd filter replacement, dump valve, mats, de-cat pipe/exhaust any bits and bobs really? Many thanks Craig.
  17. here's some pics of it getting "let loose" It wasn't a L reg after all, it seems to be a K reg.. Still - brakes weren't seized which made it slightly easier moving it! http://www.tripkings.co.uk/gt4
  18. Can't wait to collect it tommorrow.. I'll post pics of me getting it out the garage and seeing the light for the first time in four years :-)
  19. I managed to find someone selling a 1994 "L" reg celica GT-Four Carlos Sainz (model with pop up lights). It's been in the garage for the last 4 years, but other than a covereing of dust/spiderwebs/crap it looks in nice condition. I've only managed to see about 1/4 of the car as the garage hadn't been opened for over a year and was jammed. I don't know anything about them to tell you the truth but it has a carbon fibre trim all round the front. I beleive its a 2ltr turbo in completly original condition. Got to change the oil, fuel, filters, leads, brakes etc and then see if it'll turn over, apparently it was all in good working order, but the battery kept on going flat. Chap parked it in the garage and then got a company car, so just forgot about it.. Can't wait to get my hands on it.....
  20. The ultima's sold and the chap has paid me by direct bank transfer - Bank has confirmed that the payment has cleared (monday). Is there anyway it can be a scam and the funds can be pulled? Just checking as he's arranged to have the car collected this weekend and taken back to the Netherlands - i've already sent off the documents to him using his own UPS account (all matches with address and his company address) Is there anything i should be panicing about? Anything i should do when the transporter comes to collect the car? Chap seems very genuine and has come over to look at the car with his wife. I've got his address/company/telephone numbers etc.. Just checking - as never sold a car overseas before and i would hate to see my blue beast taken away only to find i'm left with no money and no car... Any advice greatly appreiciated.. Thanks Craig.
  21. yeah - i'd like a can-am after mine, but bit out of price range for the minute.. here's my car.. http://www.tripkings.co.uk/ultima
  22. Well the Ultima has been sold to an older couple in the Netherlands. Chap came over to visit and really liked it. He then went home and emailed me to say he wants it. He's paid by direct bank transfer and the bank today confirmed that the money was in the account. - Is there anything i should be worried about here? He's said once the money has cleared and i'm happy then send over the car docs by UPS regestered post and then he will arrange to collect the car if he can't come in person. All seems ok, and i've spoken to him a few times. The thing i'm a little bit confused about, is what do i do with the V5? Do i fill out the exporting car out of country section? or just stick it with his details and address on? i'll call the DVLA tomorrow to double check. Sad days.. Bye Bye Ultima....
  23. not too sure really.... Can be either silly, or everyday driver.. Went to the auction today and very very nearly bought a 523 bmw. W-reg fully loaded, one owner MOT till june 10.. went for £1500.. would of been a nice run around, but stuck to my guns and said £1500 was my max limit. One that shocked us was a 1993 500SEC. Massive thing.. thought it would only go through for around £500 as it had more lights on it's dash than Blackpool. Ended up going for £2200....
