  1. i think as long as films including jap cars...no names mentioned, and computer games still hugely indulge in the jap market nearly 20 years old, then i can't see the supra being regarded as a classic for a very long time.....especially with all the mad kits and colours stuck on them appealing to the younger generation still.
  2. i'm just in the process of finding ouy how much my 6spd conversions gonna cost. already got the 6spd box for £850 with low miles. just the clutch and flywheel which i think is gonna cost a bit now (apart from the labour/fitting)

    Jdm

What does JDM Stand for? Prob a stupid question but apart from jspec i have no idea?
  4. the £80 one from halfords- only one i could get that fitted
  5. oh i'm sure i can fit in a blown engine at some point
  6. think some of that was the tunnel:p
  7. only thing wrong with it before i took it down there was the fuel and speedo which wasn't working. i think it has something to do with the cold as well as the machinery i use at work is constantly breaking down due to electrical faults. i'l check the fuses when its not dark or i'l just end up doing more damage...not like much more can stop working...
  8. Ok got car back today from gearbox place (got mate to pick it up as i was at work) and phoned me telling me car cuts out after 10secs- brand new battery had died after being left for 2 months standstill. replaced battery and i drove it home and noticed the following: (speedo and fuel guage already not working anyway) revs are jumpy and inaccurate when driving drivers window doesn't work but lights dim when pressed? cd player doesn't work wipers don't work-just got them fixed 2 months ago! washer jets don't work boost guage and temp guage stopped working (just need setting up i think) central locking don't work button on key fob doesn't work (open/lock) the instrument cluster with the oil can symbol with wavy lines underneath it is on all the time now (don't know what this means) really really annoyed!!! just one thing after another only bright side is i fitted new boot rubbers and they work well lol
  9. Is it just me who finds this soooooooo funny! lets send him a members invite to a track day! i love it when footballers fu*k up!
  10. was that 3.5k including the 6 speed box? ive already got a 6 speed box waiting to be put into my 5speed but i'm not really sure how much a conversion would cost without the other parts (just the hours/labour etc) i know it will be another say 6-700 for the propshaft flywheel and clutch slave cder etc
  11. just nuts and bolts. easy job. just make sure not to damage the thread as sometimes they are really tight and need a bit of "forced encouragement" if the bolts are tight when you replace them then they should be fine. ive never had mine checked afterwards but they checked them inn an MOT and passed fine
  12. depends how impressive it is lol. but yeah i will cheers
  13. this was my next step. i'm hopefully getting it dyno'd straight after the box is put in. by whifbitz i hope so maybe i can sort out a few things all at once. oh yeah and "yes" to both of them q's
  14. so whatever i do it *might* but probably open up a can of worms. if i shut my eyes it might all work out!
  15. or give it back to me with a note saying "check your boost" lol
  16. oh this had crossed my mind along with it "vanishing" or being written off by thieves lol;) problem is knowing my luck i'l prob get caught and also i'l loose my no claims...not protected either so all in all not an option
  17. i'l just get another one if it proves to be password protected. i dont wanna cut corners but i'm looking at a simple way of doing all this
  18. well yeah obviously. just thought it would be more as everyone seems to spend loads on tt-single conversions and i assumed it might be roughy the same in reverse except cheaper parts. whilst its already setup for a single i was just hoping mapping and an overall check would be a good starting point
  19. is that including the labour, engine, turbos and whatever else needs doing though?
  20. i'm determined to sort this car no matter what the cost....based over a 10 year budget review just looking at few other engine options. wouldn't mind swapping a tt engine and turbos etc but would cost a fortune bit of a contradiction there but thats the expensive option...
  21. ecu is hks....something fcon i think unkown( or i might have lost the spec list...) internals is what you see on the pics lol....jap names and a few blitz's thrown in....nothing from turbofit yet though lol i only just got the boost gauge working but being currently a n/a gearbox i'm not boosting it at the moment so i don't no a t m i'm terrible:rolleyes:
  22. ok i soon get my car back and then a 6spd conversion is being done hopefully next month. After this is done i am going to divert my attention to the turbo setup. ive have an unknown make of turbo as its got surface rust and a cover hiding it so dont know yet. problem is the turbo spools up at around 5500rpm (this maybe because i havent had time to have it mapped/boost checked yet) so makes the car a bit dull in 1st and 2nd...well until the last split second in 2nd until it hits the rev limiter lol. The turbo isn't massive anyway but i would have thought it would be spooling a lot earlier than this. if it turns out my turbo is a bit knackered or a shi* make then what would be a good turbo to have for fast spool but still make around the 450/500bhp mark? this is my current turbo anyway if anyone can identify it
  23. i find darker colours look better with bolder/aggressive kits. A black veilside looks more subtle than a green one...fits more into the car shape in my eyes
  24. i know about 5 people to have ice related accidents in the last 2 days! 3 of them new to rwd cars and just seems to be worse this year already. R.I.P to him and thoughts to his family and friends
  25. i wonder how long until theres the tt being a poor mans supra and the single being the best
