Guys, My car is due from Japan next week and I have been told that it will be restricted to 112mph so I will need a delimiter to get rid of this. Cool, no problem.... I am in Jersey and local vehicle registration laws state that the speedo must display both mph and kmh so I was thinking of buying a speedo dial kit from Thor Racing that displays both. Sounds easy enough... This is where things go pear shaped... I have also been told that I will need a converter so that the car will start clocking up in miles instead of km. A number of places do dual delimiters/converters so I thought that would be the best thing to buy however; I sent an emial to one of the companies advertising on this site and was told that if I was going to put a mph speedo dial kit on, then the converter wouldnt work and the car would show the wrong speed. Any idea why this is the case??? The speedo dial kit shows both mph and kmh and I dont understand why the car wouldnt display the correct speed. Can someone please enlighten me as to how this all works and what I need to get it sorted. Thanks for your help.

Hi Guys.. My Supra is on its way from Japan and I need some info about a converter or delimiter. I am buying a speedo dial kit so that the speedo shows both mph and kmh (stupid local vehicle registration rules), but I am unsure what else I need. I have been told that the car will be restricted to 180kmh so will need a delimiter for the car to go past this. Also, am I right in thinking that the converter will mean that the speedo will clock up in miles instead of kilometres?? Thor Racing do a combined converter/delimiter for about £125, is this what I need?? Cheers for your help..

Does anyone know where I can get a set of these As mine is a Jap import, I dont have side indicators on it and I thought this would be a great way of dealing with the problem. Gotta have side indicators to get the car thru my local vehicle standards dept. I have a 1997 SZ in case that makes a difference.. Cheers

I need to get hold of a speedo face kit that shows both mph and kmh. Unfortunately, the Channel Islands version of the MOT requires all speedos to diplay both mph and kmh. Anyone have a speedo dial kit available that shows both mph and kmh. Otherwise, where can I get one from??? Cheers

Unfortunately, my local vehicle registration is different than the UK. I live in the Channel Islands and all speedos must show both mph and kmh in order to get thru the registration process. Is there such an item as a speedo dial that shows both mph and kmh??

Hi Guys, I am waiting for my first supra to arrive from Japan and am trying to sort a few things out before it gets here so that I can get it through the local checks so that I can get it registered. I have been told that our local laws are the same as those in the UK and therefore, I am trying to find our where I stand with exhaust emmisions. My car has an aftermarket exhaust and have been told I need to fit a cat to it to get it through the checks however; I have also seen stated on threads that the supra has 2 cats. Can someone tell me if the car does have 2 cats as standard and do both need to be fitted to get the car through uk checks? Thanks for your help.

True I suppose.. The NOS sounds fun. I doubt anyone over here (Jersey) will be able to do it for me but any ideas how much that would be compared to installing a turbo?? I appreciate that you can't do a lot to the NA engine but anything to improve response and acceleration would be helpful. Thanks for your comments guys..

It is pretty much standard apart from a huge exhaust. By the sounds of things, it might be better to shelve the turbo for a bit and spend a couple of grand on other ways of making it quicker. Am looking for more acceleration than top speed.

Do you think it would be better to forget the turbo for now and spend the money on other engine mods instead?

I probably just want to spend a couple of grand on other bits and pieces. Is the new gearbox a must if I want to put a turbo on it??

Hi Guys, My SZ is on its way from Japan and apart from sticking a single turbo on it, can you give me some idea on what else I can do to the engine to improve performance? I am not too clued up on the engine side of things and was thinking of doing bits and pieces to it as I go along. Any suggestions?? Cheers
