  1. If you are keeping a pretty clean diet and are not consuming much more than your daily allowance then yeah, you are certainly going in the right direction. Dont worry about the weight side of things and measure bodyfat instead. It is an easy way to keep an eye on things. Get a pair of measuring calipers, they are a useful tool. Well done with the results so far...
  2. If you want to read through some tips for exercise or diet, have a look at my website: http://www.freewebs.com/letsgetfitter/index.htm Some bits might come in useful.
  3. If you are aiming to lose weight, then I would increase your weights sessions. Try to do 3 a week and work your cardio around that. Remember, that a good weights workout will still burn calories up to 48 hours after your workout. A lot of cardio will simply leave you skinny and you will suffer from loss of muscle mass. The golden rule though....... Everything starts with your diet......
  4. Interval training should be incorporated into your marathon training also as this fires your fast twitch fibres which in turn will help increase your overall pace. I have run numerous extreme marathons around the world and was amazed at the difference interval training made to my times when incorporated into a routine. I just wished I had used it years ago.....
  5. I have Polar as well and they are very good. Interval training is indeed the way to go. This method can be used for most exercises as it is a very simple routine. For example, it using it for running, you use a parymid format. Jog for 30 seconds Sprint for 30 seconds Jog for 45 seconds Sprint for 45 seconds Jog for 60 seconds Sprint for 60 seconds Jog for 45 seconds Sprint for 45 seconds Jog for 30 seconds Sprint for 30 seconds I use interval training as part of my training regime and it is fantastic for increasing speed and is a great calorie burner.
  6. As the man said... Go by heart rate... The machines will give you an estimated calories burned but can be quite different to the actual calories burnt. It really all depends how strict you are with your diet as well. If you are estimating calories in what you eat then you could be way out at the end of the day. What is your goal?
  7. I do like the R1 and think I may go for one of those next...
  8. I have to disagree.... It's just that a jap bike is screaming its t*ts off so you think you are going quicker than you actually are. The only thing bad about all the ducatis I have had is that it feels like your a*se is on fire if you have to sit in traffic..
  9. I have had many bikes and the Ducati is by far the best. You can really throw it around and it sounds awesome.
  10. I got mine off Keron. Give him a shout...
  11. I have a set at the moment but dont know if I will being using them myself for a couple of weeks yet as I am waiting to here about some brembos on offer. If I get the brembos, these will be up for grabs. Not sure if that helps your cause...
  12. Walk up to her and say 'Hi, my name is (your name), you might want to remember it as you will be shouting it out all night..' or Walk up and say 'Hi, my name is Mr Right, I hear you have been looking for me'
  13. Black will make them look really small. Go for the white on white look...
  14. I would be interested in the brakes..... depending on price of course :o)
  15. I would be interested if you want to sell the calipers and pads without the discs. And... if you could post.
  16. Why not ask wheelmania whose car it was they used for the shoot?
  17. Our local vehicle standards are so picky it is unreal. I had to change mine as it didn't have both on the sppedo. Gave me a good excuse to put a nice brushed aluminium kit in though so was worth it in the end.
  18. Does it read in both MPH and KMH? As in MPH on the outer ring and KMH on the inner ring? If not, a dial kit will need to be fitted. Not the end of the world.
  19. Afraid not... It doesnt matter if it is a UK car or imported from Japan, you still pay the same tax. It is on the engine size and not where you get it from. It would only be cheaper if you held a portugese driving licence and the car was coming from Portugal. The lights wont be a problem on a J-spec. The fog light might be an issue but I simply had a pair of the rear lights wired up as fog lamps. A simple job and it saves having one of those tacky stick on ones on the car. The speedo will be an issue s it will need to display MPH on the outside and KMH on the inner ring. A dial kit sorts this easily. naturally, you may need a converter if you are getting a J spec. There are a few other issues you will need to address depending where you get it from. Cheers
  20. Also..... I forgot to add that I can help you sort of the delivery to Jersey also if you want...
  21. Send me a PM with your details and I will give you a call and have a word with you about what is needed. I live in Jersey also (you may have seen my car about) and I imported my car from Japan a couple of years ago. It is a whole different ball game importing to Jersey than the UK. DVS in Jersey are extremely strict and doing it right first time around will save you a lot of money and time. It would be better for you to go for a UK spec car as you will need to change a lot less on the car to get it thru DVS. Be prepared to pay approx £1,100 for the tax and inspection. DVS can be a bit of a pain but if you get most of the work done before you take it for the inspection, it will be worth it. Remeber, there is also a 3 month waiting list for inspections at the moment. Try and get a cancelation if you can. You wont be able to drive the car until it has the inspection. I could go on and on so just send me a PM with whatever you want to know. Cheers
