  1. Oooh, just found out that I won my class in the RWYB on the Sunday! http://www.japshow.co.uk/r_jap2011.php Should have stayed to get my trophy
  2. Thanks Nic good to see you again Can the better ECUs do boost control in the same way? Thinking about replacing all my gadgets like RLTC and the Apexi PFC with something else!
  3. My wife and I would love to come, she wants to try her GT4 on the strip. She isn't a member on here but am I OK to pay 2 x member rates?
  4. I do have a manual, maybe I am confusing us all! I mean my 12.5 sec run is like a 12.0 if I had an auto
  5. I have a hurst kit fitted and it's great. I don't recall having to buy any extra bits though. Jody at Interpro fitted it for me. I didn't bother with the activation switch they included though - I just have a hidden socket in the car and a 2 foot long lead with a hand held switch on the end. When I need the line lock I plug in the lead, else it stays hidden away out of temptation!
  6. Yep they are hence my time being better really!
  7. That's got to be worth an extra half second in my favour then
  8. My current boost controller is a Blitz SBC which allows me to set the boost by fiddling with gain and duty cycle levels. This isn't ideal as I have to guess the values before drag runs and hope I get it somewhere between 1.10 bar and the 1.25 bar where I get fuel cut from the power fc. Of course I want to maximise boost without hitting fuel cut. Is there a boost controller on the market that work on actual pressure levels, so I can just program in 1.2 bar, and that is what it will boost to and no further? Seems simple enough I would have thought! Any ideas chaps and chapesses?
  9. I am running a stock air box now, but in the past I had an ARC intake which sucked in so much hot air I used to do drag runs with the headlight out. Next time I might try removing airbox and headlight but I only had 4 runs yesterday. Perhaps Supra Pod is the time to play.
  10. Scott was that with a manual or auto? I want to be able to consistently get into the lower 12s now, the problem is of course heat soak and high air intake temps. Always an issue!
  11. 1. The display unit is unstable, and cycles through colours and jumps around quite a lot 2. When it's readable the actual values are FAR too unstable, you can get the idea of water temp etc but nothing too accurate. It will go from 75 to 85 back down then oscillate around. There seems to be no smoothing out of the values - and physical water temps don't fluctuate that rapidly. You can see these issues here however it seems to be behaving itself today, the colours are only flickering at the top of the screen and the values are relatively stable. 3. EGT doesn't work properly. When i boot it the display goes to 990 degrees C which is crazy, then stays there for a good few seconds after I come off the throttle. 4. The screen is far too reflective so you can forget about daytime use unless you mount it somewhere really out of the way. I did have mine in the 60mm clock hole (facelift) in the centre console but was unusable. It's now "OK" in daytime now that I have mounted it in the right hand climate control vent. Now, these may be simple problems that can be sorted out, but I have had NO HELP from PLX, last time I rang I was told to send an email to a guy called Nick, so I send a long email and had no response whatsoever. I've basically given up with having everything sorted out which is a shame.
  12. Can someone please update for my best run yesterday (edit or delete my existing 13.066 run) 12.5624 sec 111.51 mph 1.8980 sec J-Spec Stock 1.18 bar 6-Speed 17" MT Street ET JapFest 2011 at Santa Pod Thanks!
  13. I have a plx setup, waste of sodding money and wish I'd gone down a different route. The numbers on the screen are all but useless when they are even readable. I may have had a dodgy unit but trying to sort problems out with them based in the states is a nightmare. Great in theory, rubbish in practise!
  14. Slight update guys! I havent been doing much with Supra for ages but managed to get to JapFest this weekend. Had 4 runs today, best time was 12.5 and I even got a 12.9 with a passenger! Mod wise the car was identical to when this thread was started a long time ago, with the exception of the tyres. Am now running Mickey T Street ETs on the rear. Also the following helped: * proper 6-8 second burnout * Launch control working properly * keeping calm on the launches Supra is still suffering with high air intake temps so that is the next thing to hit. Thanks to all who advised better tyres, what a difference.
  15. As above - for the gt4 or the mr2 as it's the same engine apparently.
  16. Was bored at work and well it looks a lot better now!
  17. Not sure about price yet - but as I happen to own a wheel refurbishment place they will be in great condition... in whichever colour the new owner wants
  18. Going from 18" AVS 5s to Stock UK 17 inch rims - really transforms the ride! Feels a lot smoother now however haven't had a chance to really see what the handling is like. But me likey so far! Now... do I sell the AVSs??
  19. Nice one. Just looks like me and the wife just wanted to park up for a little bit to enjoy the scenery
  20. The pics aren't coming up... Just getting the little boxes with question marks in them.. EDIT: Looks like the pics are only visible if you have an account on SXOC and are logged in. Can attach them to your message rather than providing links?
  21. Hehe yup it felt like we were spinning for 5 minutes. Eventually had to just let go of everything and let it sort itself out!
  22. Me and the wife had a wonderful time for the 3rd year running. It was strange not having any of the big single drivers there though - I think I must have been one of the fastest as I was overtaking everyone I don't think anyone saw my spectacular spin out though and sadly the camera wasn't on at the time. Lost the back end coming out of the chicane system after the bus stop, over corrected and went on to the grass and did at least two 360s parallel to the crash barrier. Small amount of damage to the side skirt but nothing major! Thanks nevins for organising it this year! Can't wait to the next one. Anyone want to come again on the 23rd?
  23. I own a powder-coating plant and yes it is a fairly big oven! Hopefully see you tomorrow then!
