  1. Did you get anywhere with this? I was just about to fit my new walbro pump to my TT and it's also a GSS250... Are you going to swap it for a new one?
  2. Blimey. That's bloody good value! I'd happily pay £20 rather than spend a morning skinning my knuckles and generally swearing a lot
  3. How much of a PITA would it be to re-fit the 1st cat for an MOT? I am guessing it attaches straight to the back of the turbos which sounds like a nightmare...
  4. I'm sure he will see this thread I think you're missing the fact that I have a custom stainless steel pipe going from the 1st cat right to the back of the car, although I will have to get the car up on ramps to verify this. To put a 2nd cat back in may require cutting out a section of exhaust
  5. Therein lies the issue - there's nowhere for the 2nd cat to go, even if I had one to put in - I don't James
  6. Nice, thanks! I like it! Had some vids of my car but obviously not from behind like that. Cheers
  7. Will do. I have just been informed my EGT/AFR and oil temp gauge has been dispatched so this will be going in soon. Think I will de-cat, go visit powerflow to get an inline non-restricting muffler in, and worry about my MOT in a years time!
  8. Yeah am aiming for 1.2 but I still keep hitting this "decat or not decat" issue. Why does 1.0 overfuel? Does the ECU overfuel by default or something? I'd imagine anything >1.0 is a bit of an unknown quantity as the ECU doesn't even see it and just fuels for 1.0 bar...
  9. I did do a run, (not sure if you're talking to me or not!) however I wouldn't have been bouncing off the rev limiter like some! There was a gunmetal one there that sounded like that though, maybe you're thinking of him. I am Pxxx PKE... dunno if you have any pics!
  10. Yeah, it's a pain in the arse! It's already really loud but in a nice way, I don't want to totally lose that with a muffler. Also I am guessing that with my straight pipes there's nowhere to temporarily fit a cat for MOT *tears hair out* Cheers James
  11. Cheers, most people I have spoken to agree with this. I guess I have to bite the bullet and get it done - but it's sadly not as simple as that for me with my straight through system. Am getting an EGT gauge fitted though so can still keep an eye of things in the meantime...
  12. Guys, I have a walbro, colder plugs, and FCD going in tomorrow. I also have a boost controller already fitted. J-spec not UK. I have a 2nd de-cat, and a straight though pipe with no muffler. The first cat is still there, and I want to keep it for noise reasons and to pass MOT. I realise that I can't go "BPU" with the 1st cat still in place, but I do want to increase the boost using the controller. Currently boosting at 0.95 ish as I haven't fitted the other parts yet. Had some advice from a well respected member of this forum who I spoke to at Supra Pod that I could leave the first cat still in (I guess the first cat does the same job as a RR *grin*) and up the boost. Can I have some opinions please, it is safe to gradually increase the boost up to 1.2 bar or so? More importantly, how will I know if it's causing problems? Thanks! James
  13. Last month? £200 on fuel £600 on insurance £200 on walbro, fcd and IK22s £700 new bumper and fitting £350 at plxdevices.com for AFM,EGT,OT gauges £10500 on buying a supra
  14. BPM? Sadly I am Unix Geek ™ except I don't have long hair! Tawny is nice, my brother's local. The new pub up by me is nice as well if you like modern styled pubs, good food and have a load of guest ales at the moment.
  15. Hi again Paul! Wow - a supra owner in swindon who's also a UNIX guy. We definately should meet up. You can see my server room *grin* I use screen on a daily basis, it's great for kicking jobs off at home, and then re-attaching elsewhere, either at work or from my Treo to check progress. Really handy stuff! James
  16. Saw this in the metro this morning, made my blood run cold. Sympathy to the family of the guy that died, and hope his wife recovers. Could well be that us "car types" get even less sympathy from the public now, even though it's amazing how little this actually happens. Most of the accidents we get to hear about are lorries / drunk drivers / teenagers.
  17. Wicked thanks, please let me know
  18. Brilliant, thanks. Those pictures are excellent, I now know what to expect! Will talk to CW re the heatshrink, I have some already but probably not fuel resistant stuff. Cheers!
  19. Hi All I now have my FCD, new plugs and pump to go in, so pretty much ready for BPU. Am confident enough about the plugs and FCD but working with fuel bits isn't something I've done before apart from on diesels which I believe is a bit safer then petrol. Going to follow http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=45647 How safe is it to use a soldering iron near the open fuel tank, if this is indeed required. Needless to say I'd be using an electric one not a gas one Or is a case of being able to disconnect something from the loom and soldering it totally away from the car? Haven't actually looked yet so not sure what to expect. Also any hints of what to insulate with if I can't use insulation tape, other safety tips? Cheers
  20. Worth a try though for 10 mins effort I think
  21. Hi Gaz Was hoping you wouldn't see that I was parking and literally tapped the kerb in front of me, so the bottom lip went over a few cm. Backed up (doh) and it split... but then the bodyshop I trust informed me that it wasn't repairable due to other repairs on the splitter that had been done in the past - it was full of filler and mesh holding it together... So it made me feel loads better as it wasn't totally my fault but will be a lot more careful in the future. Perhaps a good use for that LCD TV would be a forward facing camera mounted at the bottom of the bumper Got exactly the same on there, top secret type 3. I thought about going for something different, but I loved what it already had so kept it the same. Guess how much they charged me for... Prepping, fitting and spraying front bumper Refurbing 4 alloy wheels Painting 2 panels (to remove small imperfections) Removing sticker from fuel fllap Pulling out 3 dings . . . £400 !! Course I had to source the bumper myself but managed to get a really good quality one from Envy. EDIT: Better mention the place since I am raving about them - Neil at Simtek in Swindon James
  22. How much are they, and can you post a pic? James
  23. Yeah that was my thinking - choose them first and then get the holes made to measure since it's a brand new bumper. Cheers
