  1. Well look out for my car, I'll be at JF tomorrow, and I have a car pass Take care James
  2. Haha! Nice one. I've actually always wanted to go, at least for a holiday, but it's so far away and different that I'd imagine there's not all the much point going for less than a few months. I guess the most important thing to find out, is if foriegners are allowed to drive native supras on their uk licenses
  3. Sounds like my experience of Taiwan (was there on business for 5 weeks. No matter what country you're in, airports, taxis, hotel rooms, and server rooms all look the same. Just different money!
  4. That's all great advice. Must have been a great experience. What made you want to come back?
  5. Exactly my thoughts. Trying to find out a lot more about working out there though - I know nothing about the government out there, in fact very little about the country itself... only what I saw watching Tokyo Drift *grin*
  6. Sounds like you've been around a fair bit. I actually used to do a LOT of worldwide travelling when I was younger, due to my first job comissioning prepay mobile phone systems when they first started getting popular. Thanks to everyone for your advice so far
  7. Will see if it actually happens eh But I'm thinking about it, what's stopping people like us? At worst I'll hate it and come back after a couple of months!
  8. The more I think about this, the more I like it! Please pipe up if you're on here later and you've done this... James
  9. Yeah my Bristol house looks after itself and can continue to do so. Have only just bought the current one so will probably keep it also and rent it out. Could stick everything into storage.... hmmm this actually could happen. Scary stuff!
  10. Haha, well japanese women? never crossed my mind, honest I'll give him a shout. Cheers
  11. Go easy mate. I made the mistake of going for a drive in a foul mood at the weekend. Clear private runway, no cars in sight so I was being quite aggressive. Backed off when I saw I was approaching 160 leptons. Then the next day my tyre blows out at 40mph on the dual carriageway, no damage but imagine if that had happened the night before!
  12. It's a good question, it really is! A change from IT would be nice but I don't want to be out of the loop for too long. But I've been working really hard for the last 3 years and saving up, have 50k in the bank and not a clue what to do with it. Perhaps I could get a job at a japanese tuning shop to make the tea and pass spanners?
  13. That's my thinking mate. Apart from two mortgages and family/friends there's nothing keeping me here
  14. Something I've been thinking about on and off for a while - and with recent events in my life I really want to do something about it now. Would really love to bugger off to some foreign country for a while, for a change of life and some new experiences. I know Australia is often mentioned when p eople want to do somthing like this, but I'd rather go somewhere a bit different - so, how about Japan *grin* I'm 29, have been in IT for 10 years and contracting in London for the last 3. I have plenty of money saved to keep things ticking over for a fair while, mort gages wise, and no family to support, nothing. I live to work and drive the supra at the moment! I don't know how easy it is visa wise to go to somewhere like Japan and be able to work for living expenses, or if there is any demand for english speaking IT guys out there. But saying that if I'm after a change of life for a bit then I wouldn't want an IT job. Anyone here done anything like this? Any advice for me? James
  15. ...that all the nice supra loving ladies in the country are all paired up already?
  16. Mate I feel your pain - posted a similar thread a few days ago myself. Must the time of year or something. Admittedly mine didn't live with me but I do think I know what you're going through, but it's still really hard. Chin up though, as long as you got friends and family around and a nice car (that goes without saying on here eh!) we'll be OK. I think it was the age thing for us that did it too - she's 21 and I am 29. Wrong stage of life and all that...
  17. I've actually just spent £180 - rather unexpectedly one of my tyres blew on the dual carriageway this morning! Very scary. never rains but it pours eh! James
  18. Isn't top gun cool any more??
  19. I knew there was going to be trouble when she said she preferred my audi to the supra anyway
  20. ... but not in a good way! It's true what they say if it's got wheels or breasts there's going to be trouble, I just hope my Supra doesn't give me as much trouble as my (now) ex!!!!!
  21. Whoops! Did you crap yourself by any chance? I was so careful yesterday, my first damp day of supe ownership, very scary!!
  22. On a related note - does the RLTC install just involve wiring things into the ECU harness? If so I could probably install it myself
  23. Guys, If I was to go down the route of either totally disabling the stock traction control or fitting RLTC, can the Trac ECU box in the passenger footwell be removed to make more room down there? There seems to be a lot of gubbins for Trac given that the consensus is that it doesn't really work all that well! James
  24. Ah, thanks guys! Am glad the ECUs loom is untouched - going to get a harness to keep things neat
  25. Hi Guys Just exposed my ECU with a view to fitting an FCD. Expected to see maybe an SLD and speedo mph convertor in there. Nothing - looks all stock. Where would an SLD etc be if not at the ECU? James
