  1. Q. What do you do when you are travelling to Japan in the morning, and realise your passport is stuck in an electronic safe, the battery has died and the key is nowhere to be found? A. Go PSYCHO with a hammer for 10 minutes... :looney:
  2. Ouch! I guess I really should count myself lucky then...
  3. Oh - I see, so it looks like it's continuous but really it's not! You learn something new every day, haha...
  4. I'll admit I don't know much about how bodywork is put together, but the damaged bit on the rear seems to be one continuous peice of metal from the quarter panel to the roof and everything, I shouldn't think that's easily replacable! But yeah I will fight it whatever happens. Will get in touch with Jurgen if it comes to that - thanks homer
  5. Thanks Mr. Dogg I will try and calm down and forget about it all for a bit, a drive tonight should cheer me up as long as I walk round the other side of the car
  6. Can do, but I do trust the garage I went to in this instance - they know how insurance companies work. It's not the cost of the repair that bothers me, it's the insurance companies. They've already said once that due to the "age of the car" it may be a write off, but there's no way I will let that happen...
  7. Hi Guys Scenario - my car was bought for £11k just a couple of months ago. Last week as some of you know, a car hit me and damanged the rear bumper and wing, car is still perfectly driveable though. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=112197 Got an estimate for repair today and they reckon 2 grand ish which seems silly if you look at the car. They also said insurance company will most likely want to write the car off! Where do I stand here? Is there any way I can force the 3rd party to make a repair? Because if they do write it off they will probably look in some silly book and offer me peanuts for the car, this just isn't fair as it's not my fault. Tempted to tell them all to swivel and repair it out of my own pocket, but at this point I just don't know what to do

  10. Just booked the flight last week - going for a 2 week holiday to start with, hooking up with some gtr.co.uk guys to do some mountain driving and visiting various tuning shops out there, just a car pilgrimage really, and I need a break
  11. Would love to go, sadly I will be en route to visit my car's homeland of Tokyo :D
  12. I believe I'm just going for Saturday night. Going with some friends via club-jap.co.uk which is swindon based thing I just joined, but may gatecrash
  13. Damn it I was going to buy that one beaten to it!!
  14. Yep I'm going to be camping too
  15. Little offtopic I know, but do you think this sort of upgrade would be a sequential system (unlikely IMO) or just both coming online together for mega boost? It's a shame we can't use the existing sequential system with bigger turbos, or can we?
  16. Morning all! Had the car up on ramps for the first time yesterday. All looks good apart from a slight amount of oil around the propshaft end of the transfer box. No evidence on oil on my driveway or anything, it's just under the car, on the metal strut in the attached picture. My mechanic friend says it's not that big a deal, and if it turns into a problem I'll most likely see oil on my driveway before it hurts the car. Can't see that this is a common problem from searching on here, but does anyone have any views on this?
  17. I am sat here, tired and bored, all I have to look forward to is the gym at 7pm. Really can't get motivated for that! Took the car out today in the pouring wet - took it VERY easy as I ripped out traction control yesterday
  18. Thanks for the support. That's what everyone has said so far so I feel quite confident, but you always think don't you, did I do anything wrong? But at the end of the day *she* hit *me* Hopefully though something good will come out of this with the trial rear
  19. Cheers. Well at least the new front bumper is still OK!
  20. It's a bit of a strange one - I was turning right, into a layby (for a kebab mmmmm), so indicated, and moved slightly over to the left to make the turn, started turning and bam she hit me. I know though at the end of the day it's her job to make sure she doesn't hit anything in front of her regardless. I just think she's going to cause problems!
  21. Last time I had something like that it was actually from the police informing me that a car I had sold had been abandoned and impounded, I just had to prove I'd sold it and there was no problem. But it's not fun waiting to find out what it is!
  22. Go on then, the night is still young
  23. Yep 1 cat to come out, plugs and gauges to go in. And probably some sort of muffler else I'll be too loud! I can quite see how this little hobby gets addictive though - after I go BPU I just know I'll be pricing up various silly options...
  24. Now that I've stopped the adrenaline has kicked in and my hands are shaking. Guess my FCD really does work *big grin* Now that I've verified it I guess I should put the boost back to 1 bar until I go BPU properly... but still, was a lot of fun!
  25. Just to be clear, I am assuming you're not from the UK originally and you want to drive a Supra here? Do you mean steering wheel on the left hand side of the car, or a car you drive on the left hand side of the road? Here we drive on the left, with a RHD (right hand drive) car
