  1. Yeah I was just about to comment that my test may not have been a valid one as there are so many ways a diff can work, and may well need engine power to do so! How could I tell by driving?
  2. My 6 speed *should* have an LSD, indeed it's indicated by the VIN plate. When I jack up the rear and spin one wheel, the other wheel spins in the opposite direction. Searching this forum doesn't help as some people say that means LSD, others say no! This was in gear mind - in neutral, both wheels are able to spin freely without affecting the other one. Is that normal? Any ideas would be useful before I attempt to learn to drift next week
  3. That's mind-fappingly clever then. Have to think about it further
  4. True, but according to the manual you can make it a left *or* a right turn. So still room for ambiguity surely?
  5. Reading up on the install of RLTC given that I'm going to be installing it sometime soon. One thing (so far!) is confusing me. The instructions at http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/racelogic_Install/index.html say you can hook into the 4 wheel sensor wires in any order. Surely the RLTC at point has to know which wheel is which - and HOW does it know? If it gets that from the "calibration" (making one turn) I'll be quite impressed
  6. Just seen they've put a pic of my car up there too now! http://www.japshow.co.uk/r_jap2007.htm - class B winner
  7. Cool, here's hoping I have better luck with that than with the CW SMIC
  8. Yes it's A/M, Top Secret type 3. Will have a think, it all really depends on when I want to go single, hell I'm not even fully BPU yet! The car is going to CW soon for some suspension work so I will see what he thinks.
  9. It was a Corsa who crashed into me last month. Beware all!
  10. Nic, thanks will be in touch! Feel guilting getting all these quotes off you and not buying anything yet... but when car is sorted out from it's bump, all systems are go!
  11. Just installed a nice new head unit and want better sound now
  12. Which SMIC should I go for given that the ideal one (CW) just isn't available unless I want to buy 3 of them Would be nice if it could support a small single in the future too - SM just makes more sense to me - better airflow and it's not blocking up (or indeed being heated by) the rad.
  13. Sorry to hear about that Aksal. I was looking for my Supra in April this year, and eventually got a really nice one off a forum member here. Always a good option because then you can be a little more confident about the car, check the seller's thread posting history etc. Another good resource is http://pistonheads.com/sales/ and there are several on there in your price range - but I would say if you see something you like on there, ask here if anyone knows the car first! If you wanted to save your money and get an Manual TT, be aware they can be much much more - I paid £11k for mine, as it's 6 speed and a rare colour, but you'd still be looking at 9k upwards. Good Luck!
  14. He's in Lane 1, you're in lane 3, you indicate over to lane 2... it's nice to know he's not indicating as well. That's just one example! Also, if you had an accident and you didn't have them on, you could get major liability issues if your signals were being disputed. Turn it around - why would you NOT want them? It's a hell of a risk for something so minor.
  15. Personally I think it's a jolly good idea idea to have them. When I'm changing lanes / what have you I want people to KNOW!
  16. I just found out what Det Cans are!! Haha! Thought they were high tech sensors or something.....
  17. Guys, I will be fitting RLTC at some point in the future (Thanks Sheefa ) and want to do it neatly, so was planning on making the leads to the ECU detachable. I *loathe* bullet connectors, they don't seem secure to me and half the time I pull wires out when I'm trying to disconnect them. I'd much rather take the time to solder some real connectors on. The problem is I'm having great difficulty finding matched pairs of generic low voltage connectors, in configurations such as 2 way, 4 way, 6 way etc. They need to be neat, and lock together securely. Does anyone do anything similar, or have any ideas for me? Cheers James
  18. I was hoping this would mean our team meeting was cancelled, sadly, no! We're also close to tower hill just by the cordoned off area.
  19. Whoops, I assumed EMU as that's what I was looking at, but EMB makes more sense in this context.
  20. SAFC II fudges the airflow signal doesn't it... do we even have an airflow meter in the supra? E-manage is a piggyback ECU so totally different kettle of fish, go with that!
  21. Any news on my quote Chris? At least one of my shocks has totally given up the ghost (see http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=116435)
  22. Anyone? I will have to go with a cheaper option purely because of availability of the CW SMIC... not good!
