  1. Damn I am still at work! Thought I was being clever waiting here until the trains would start running again. Looks like I'm at my desk all night now though... nationalrail.co.uk is crap and hasn't been updated since 5.20pm saying there are no trains on the london-bristol line, which I assume has been true all evening as I was watching the departures boards. Well have 10 epsiodes of Heroes on the laptop to work through

I'm still at work in London, don't think there's really any point leaving yet... trains to swindon AND the m4 is fecked
  3. It's just a letter - junk mail off a mailing list. You've never signed anyone up on random lists on the internet??
  4. My friend still gets junk mail addressed to his cat - "Professor Binky" whose job title is "vi expert" (unix equiv of notepad.exe) Dunno how that happened!!
  5. Thanks! Guess I have a bit of work to do then
  6. Hi All Since yesterdays drifting action my fuel gauge is stuck at about three quarters full. This is not related to the amount of fuel in the tank when it got stuck. Am thinking that the floating arm in the tank has a problem but before I go through the hassle of opening the access panel I'd like to check something out with other members. Does the fuel gauge remember it's position when the ignition is off? Because mine is in it's stuck position all the time!
  7. Was very frustrating at times. But I think like a lot of things it will just take practise until it's second nature - much like learning to drive in the first place! But the feeling when you catch that first drift is just great!
  8. Oh, undoubtedly - if you're looking for the least risky option go in their car - but I didn't take the Supra to save £100. I wanted to learn how to handle my own car. Their little MX-5's would have been a damn sight easier to drift in as well. Had a couple of scary moments in my car though including one where I ended up travelling backwards at a fair rate and my brakes completely failed to do anything. Pulling the ABS fuse seemed to correct that though.
  9. Well I wouldnt say I can now go onto a track and drift straight away but I can certainly do a lot more than I could before. I must have spun out thirty times and held a drift 5 or 6 times but with practice I should improve. Only problem now is that every time I see a roundabout I want to put the handbrake on!
  10. Also worth mentioning is that I managed to drive there in the supe with tools, trolley jack, and 4 spare wheels as my support truck driver is on holiday this week
  11. http://www.driftacademy.co.uk/courses.html officer! Would recommend it to anyone on here... First time I'd been, so I was obviously crap - but one of the instructors took my car out, to prove the supra *can* drift well
  12. And my fuel gauge now doesn't work but all in all a good day
  13. striping is quicker, but you're right. Lose one disk, and lose the lot! So chance of failure is doubled. If it's like buying a server though, you get to choose your RAID strategy when you order, so can choose Mirroring if you like.
  14. 315? bugger me. I thought my 275 were wide. Are you making a steam roller??
  15. Well, I thought I had one on the way but the sale fell through. Annoyingly now it's part of my near term plans so am looking for another one! Will pay up to abot £500 for an RLTC with digi adjuster and launch control...
  16. They are "officially" 280bhp because japanese manufactures have agreed to only go as high as that. But they roll off the production line running 326 if I remember correctly. Course a 10 year old car will be running slightly less but it's still round the 300 mark!
  17. It's always the good guys that go isn't it. I didn't know him either but it certainly makes you think. Condolences to family and friends. What a tradgedy that he leave a wife and two little boys Please be careful out there guys and girls.
  18. Not for road use... http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1493203&postcount=2 I just know if I disable ABS by taking the fuse out I'll probably forget to put it back in.
  19. Mine *will* be drifting on Thursday next week at drift academy - based on how it goes, it may turn into a drift car... *grin* Basically I've never done it before, and want to give it a go. I think the main reason we don't see much Supra drift action is because they are relatively expensive cars to screw up rather than there being any technical issues (I hope!) RWD - check Manual Box - check LSD - check BHP - check Cheers James
  20. Going to be fiddling around in that area for RLTC so might as well do it at the same time...
  21. I'd like to wire up a dash switch to turn ABS on and off so I don't have to remove or replace the fuse under the bonnet. What's the best way of doing this? Looking at the wiring diagram I could just switch terminal A25 of the ECU which is battery voltage. Wouldn't be looking to turn ABS off mid-journey but what would happen if I did?
  22. Sure, can probably do that. Is it easy to ID the signal wires coming off the ABS ecu to which wheels they go to?
  23. So which is best for drifting? Again, have heard conflicting stories here. Some say LSD, others say a locked / welded diff...
  24. Oh! hehe.. well, OK! I already know I leave double tracks Hopefully that means I am fine then, and my other test was bogus?
