  1. OK for some unknown reason that made me laugh out loud. On the train, in 1st class. I'm now trying to look inconspicuous...
  2. *bump* still want one of these
  3. ISO Blanking plate for bottom half of stereo hole. Either that or a fairly shallow cubby hole - want to be able to control units etc under the stereo behind the hole...

    New iPods

I've just ordered a new 16gb touchy feely one. I currently have a 8GB nano and I'll most likely keep it permanently plumbed into the car. That said I am already starting to get the buyers remorse and I don't even have it yet. I do love the form factor of the nano (NOT the new one, that looks g-hey) but we'll see what happens when it arrives! I'm kinda banking on the fact that it's OS X under the hood, and hackers will find a way of getting 3rd party apps on it... that *would* be cool

    Pavarotti

A sad day indeed. The embodiment of opera... Was on the the early shift at work this morning - at about 7am it was a main story on the BBC news website, and included a link to his obituary. However BBC news messed up and the obit was still datestamped in June 2006, ie not long after he was diagnosed! I suppose it's standard practise to write these in advance, but was a little tastless I thought
  6. HI all, Bit confused about all this. I want to refresh my headlights, they are faded and tired. It's a j-spec facelift with a HID upgrade. Is there such thing as a glass facelift headlight? I am guessing not, as glass = UK && facelift != UK...
  7. Yeah, to be fair he's doing this as a favour to me as my car desparately needs a new SMIC. I don't think he makes much more than a few quid on these.
  8. Well I was going to get a T shirt printed but yep that's a better idea!
  9. Sorry for the blatant cross-plug but if anyone is after a CW SMIC then *please* pipe up here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?p=1581523 If I don't get anyone interested in the next few days I will have to abort and get a stock SMIC which isn't ideal but hey Cheers James
  10. Yep my hole is going to be filled....
  11. Jody that sounds pretty nifty. I will try and do that while the car is at the workshop if they will let me in. I haven't seen a supra with the bumper off, where did you position the antenna - on top of / behind the crash bar? Any pics? Also about how long is the antenna you're using? Cheers
  12. Dunno! Is there? That would be ideal. There is a metal element but that's for the heated rear window I would imagine. Don't have the car with me to check at the moment...
  13. I need to make a decision on this. My quarter panel has arrived, and it's pre-drilled for the antenna but the shop can fill it for if I want. My current antenna doesn't work, motor or something is shagged, it makes the right noises but doesn't move. 1. Replace the stock antenna module with a 2nd hand one 2. Fill the hole so there's no antenna and live w/o a radio 3. Stubby antenna - where to get one? 4. Am I missing a nice solution like a small antenna behind the dash or something? That would be nice! What would you guys do!?
  14. Arggh would love to go to this, however Supe still at bodyshop, and I am working Saturday AM in London and may not be back in time. Just wanted to show my support for future Wiltshire meets though. If I am home from London in time I might pop in and say hello though!
  15. Arrgh your avatar is dancing exactly in time to my music right now... freaky!!
  16. Nice one, yes please can you get him to drop me an email at jamesp at hisser.org ? Cheers
  17. Can't see them - I must be being dense. TEven searched for RLTC but nothing in the last month or so! Any chance of links?
  18. preferably with Digi adjuster and launch control... anyone? Has two purchases fall through, I must be cursed!!
  19. That reminds me, I must look into iWeb - never used it. Is it easy enough to publish to a "normal" web host? I am too tight to pay for .mac hosting Hope things are good over there still James
  20. Ha, fair point - am in the same boat though, car in the garage getting rear end fixed...
  21. ... or does it seem like every other thread these days is about a Supra being involved in an accident!? Be careful out there people!
  22. Missing option! I use the supra as the small runaround...
  23. I think the twin piston just means is stronger than normal (could be talking out of my arse here though). The fact it's still diverting air from the engine that the ECU thinks will be going in doesn't change - you'd still get the problem. Presumably when people go single in their VVTi cars they rip out the MAF gubbins and the new ECU just uses MAP...?
  24. Hi Guys Long shot but it's starting to annoy me. My diesel weasel (see sig) has had a small problem since it was new, and it's so intermittent making troubleshooting a right pain as it never seems to do it within range of an Audi mech! Basically, maybe once a week or so, when I put my foot down when the engine is under load (so not at idle) I get a horrible tappetty noise, it sounds like a transit engine, and I lose power though not severely. Now, it only seems to happen when the engine has fully warmed up, and it's a nice day, i.e ambient air temp is over about 18 degrees outside. Any ideas? Car is under warranty but they've "had a look" and can't find anything wrong, of course
  25. Oooh haven't times changed! http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929605 Looks like you're still out of luck unless you go 64 bit...
