  1. Or just do what I did - read all the guides, then turn up, be bowled over by the sheer supra-ness and forgot to check things and just throw money at the nice man
  2. Excellent. That looks identical to my front strut so I'll have the matching set
  3. I'll take this off your hands... I'm not too far away so can collect
  4. What's with all the whoop'ing newbies? Welcome though, and get some pics up! Where in Glouc are you? I start a new job in Cheltenham in a couple of weeks...
  5. OK I already spoke to him but he only had one type of ring in stock... I still need to measure the hole though.
  6. On this subject, can anyone tell me where I'd go for spigot ring adaptors, would they have to be custom made?
  7. Damn my funny wheels Will get the centre holes measured when I get the chance and some rings located.
  8. I have UK brakes so they should be OK, I should have had the front discs changed as well but I completely forgot. Had new pads all round and completely new UK brakes at the rear 2 months ago.
  9. I get brake judder at high speeds, which then affects low speed braking until the brakes have cooled down for a bit which doesn't fill me with confidence. Chris did you notice any play in the front wheel bearings on my car, or so I need new front discs? Could it be due to the centre holes in my wheels being too big? Still don't have any spigot rings
  10. Hmmm. I hadn't thought of a hand-held switch. Not a bad idea really. I'm now thinking of a 3.5mm plug and socket so I can detach the control completely for safety when I don't need it. My original plan was to be able to completely isolate the line lock with a key-operated switch in the centre console, which I may still do. Hmmm what about a mouth operated switch to enable true hands free operation
  11. Have just ordered some from here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220190760781 Will let you guys know if they are any good
  12. I've not seen a line lock install in the flesh yet but I plan to install mine as soon as we get some more nice weather I am ditching the ugly switch provided in my Hurst kit and going with a stonking big red button I got from Maplins My only question is where to put it? I am thinking in the centre console, near to the gear stick so it will be operated with my left hand like this: - Apply brakes - Clutch down, first gear - Hold down button and release brake pedal - Get revs up and clutch biting - Release the button as soon as I get a green light Or do you guys think it will be better to have the switch operated by my right hand so I can select first gear *after* the brakes are locked? Once the button is released do the brakes release instantly?
  13. Sorry to hear that. My 1st cat is coming out asap!
  14. Lol, yes it's been a while. Annoyingly I just missed out on Paul Whiffin's digi adjuster for it - but that can wait!
  15. Oh yeah, CW did get me to double check the core thickness of my existing rad as he's now seen a couple with bigger cores as standard on j-specs.
  16. This arrived today to replace my stock TT rad that's broken. Chris' rad uses the stock end tanks for a perfect fit, and it's an uprated core internally. Cheaper than a stock one from Mr. T as well, so can't really go wrong! Comes really well packed as well! Cheers Chris!
  17. From what I can see the standard fitment is 9006J but 9005's will fit with persuasion (thanks Nic ) I have no idea what bulbs I have in there but I will try and find out
  18. Cheers all I feel like I'm slowly getting to the bottom of this. Can I just ask a dumb question though - when you have the correct fitting bulbs, do they twist and lock securely in to the headlight? The ones I have currently do not fit properly, I have to unscrew the black ring which is part of the headlight, and use that to clamp down which plays havoc with alignment and makes them wobble sometimes over speedbumps
  19. Bloody 'ell I skipped right past them as I thought they would be too cheap and be xenon bulbs only, hehe! Cheers, that's worth a punt!
  20. Ah maybe, I just hate eBay with a passion. I want to be able to say there is nothing on my car that's ever been near eBay Actually, that said, I can't even find any on there anyway...
  21. Desperately need working HIDs within a month for a trip to the Isle of Man If I can't replace the bulbs on their own does anyone have a good quality HID kit for sale? Must wire straight in to the j-spec looms with no relays etc, and fit into my j-spec facelift headlights properly. My current set are a bit of a bodge anyway by the looks of them.
  22. for a few minutes there my dream car was in sight
