  1. Anyone gone single and have these going spare? James
  2. Would that affect priming/cranking though? If anything I would guess that would increase the FP not cause problems
  3. Yeah my thoughts exactly. I need to remove the motec, revert the sequential system back to stock and tidy her up. Motec will either be sold on or saved for my car when I go big single one day
  4. Anyone have any stock and would be cheaper than Mr.T? 6 x 90980-11246 the coil pack connector housings 1 x 12264-46010 Vent hose No 4 1 x 12263-46010 Vent hose No 3 (the ones in with the coil packs Cheers James
  5. Would just like to say I've done this today and it was really easy to do - especially if you are replacing the connectors and use the "nut cracker" method of removing the originals! My connecters were so brittle just light pressure with pliers to the whole body caused them to disintegrate around the wires. Easy peasy.
  6. Right I have two Supra's now Supra1 is my baby with the Apexi PowerFC. When I turn the ignition on (without starting) I can hear the fuel pump prime for perhaps 3 or 4 seconds. Car will then start after 2 seconds of cranking. Perfect. Supra2 is my project car. It has a Motec ECU but as far as I can tell all the other fuel components are stock. On this one, the pump primes when I turn the key, but it doesn't stop priming, it just carries on and on. Car cranks for at least twice as long as Supra1 before starting, but once it's started all seems fine. Now, I would guess that a lack of fuel pressure would cause this, but apart from that the car drives and boosts fine - so what gives?
  7. It's pretty darn black. Only happens on startup and not pulling away, either. May not be VSS then! Oh well - was looking forward to doing that Perhaps the motec is going really rich when the car is started?
  8. Well you know what they say.. "If you want a job done properly then ask on the forum"
  9. Wow, I've never been one for *bling* but you did that all yourself? I'm going to strip down my engine soon (at least the intake side) and was going to clean some parts, but am now tempted to have a go at doing something like this. Care to make a polishing HOW-TO?
  10. I'm going to change the VSS on my project car when I get a chance as there's a bit of black smoke on startup. I've read Tony's guide on here and it seems like it's something I am able to do however I have a couple of quick questions: 1. What happens if the VSS are NOT replaced? Does anything get damaged? 2. How much more work would it be to remove the head? I think once the head is off it would be easier for me to do the VSS because I can take my time with it indoors (damn Supra engine bay is too big to be leaning over it all day!) and then I'll be able to have a look to see if the pistons are looking nice too Plus I don't fancy stuffing rope into my engine EDIT: I'm being thick here, aren't I. I'd need to take the turbos and everything off! 3. Anyone got any of the special tools I can borrow? Cheers
  11. Car drives fine, but coolant is rust coloured. Flush and fix, or has the damage already been done? Am guessing the 4 life that's in there has been contaminated somewhat...
  12. Yeah I think some cowboy wrote it but it certainly came in handy when I did mine
  13. You need a resistor pack too as they are different impedance. See http://www.internetwork.org.uk/Injectors/Injectors.htm for a guide!
  14. Lol, OK PM me your addy and I'll pop it in the post!
  15. Think I have one that came with my new project if anyone wants it. Can't think why you would though
  16. Thanks Chris, I wondered why they did that - and the same for the IAT. Would the stock IAT also work with the Motec as far as you know?
  17. That was my thought given that this car seems to be running 1.3 bar according to Dyno sheets, with the 1st cat still fitted. This car is also running TTC mode, with the EGCV actuator permanently wired open and I think some of the stock sequential stuff has been removed - see pics. Can you tell what's been done from these?
  18. Looks like it will be a bit of fun to revert this lot back. Doable, I'm sure, but a PITA! I've circled some wires that have been cut rather close to the ECU connector
  19. Thanks mate I'm also going to try and resurrect one of my old laptops that has a parallel port and stick the Motec s/w on there. I have the CAN cable for the ECU
  20. The wastegate VSV? Or am I talking crap here?
  21. Is it possible for an ECU to control boost without any visible aftermarket solenoid box? Maybe it could use the stock one?
