1. Swindon, so not a million miles away
2. For sale are my UK spec 17 inch wheels with tyres. They had been professionally powder coated but for whatever reason the rears are black and the fronts are more of a dark grey - I am not sure what I was thinking - but I usually swapped the rears for the drag strip and never used the fronts much. Good condition, been stored in the garage for a few years. No kerb marks at all. 8J fronts 9.5J rear Tyres on the fronts are Falken 235/45/R17 with the tread almost as new. Tyres on the rears are Mickey T ET Street 275/40/R17 with very little tread on then. Probably not road legal, but should give you a couple of runs at Santa Pod! £250, collected please!
3. I know my car (in the for sale section) would love to go to another James, especially one so local ;P
4. Whoops, edited to correct MOT expiry. It does have an MOT!
5. Unfortunately, it is! Part of the reason I am selling up is I just don't have time for fiddling with cars any more, which is a great shame. I don't think they will just clip off!
6. I'll put on a few teaser pics but I have linked to an imgur album in the post.
7. Thanks, I am sure it will - it's been a lovely car. Just needs someone with the time to enjoy and USE!
8. Yeah it wasn't cheap. But ongoing costs aren't too bad once you have that piece of paper. If I was looking at it again now I'd probably go down the microlight route - the image of a bloke strapping a kite to his back is so out of date now - the LAPL stuff looks great! - - - Updated - - - It's actually been a while. Trained from 2011-2013 and PPL since then. Got about 120 hours now, a number I hope to increase this summer
9. 1979 vintage - but seeing more use than the Supra at the moment. Nice top speed but terrible MPG!
10. Just tried Footman James - won't entertain a quote as 440bhp is too much over stock
11. Are the turbos still for sale or have they deffo gone now?
12. Try Researching, Dammit! Sorry... couldn't resist
13. Great wheels, check my pics for how they look against gunmetal. Good luck with sale!
14. Great stuff Chris and totally agree with you... the only fly in the ointment here is that my wife quite likes to drive the Supra and she's half my size! Also after feeling the weight of the motorised front seat I can see your point even more!
15. Also, related note - any special tools required for the job? It doesn't look too hard to do but I am not sure how the upper column mates to the lower column just before it goes through the firewall into the engine area. I was told 'a few hours' labour at a garage but that seems high. Looks like I should be able to whip the steering wheel off, unbolt the column with the 4 big bolts and it all drops to the floor. Then there is a rubber boot which I have not investigated yet!
16. Thanks mate yes that is what Whifbitz Paul suggested and it is actually fine now until I need to adjust it again. It just bugs me that I can't adjust it
17. Yeah I can see my IAT on the powerFC and it does get that high after a quarter mile run, haven't looked in a while though. Agree it should be a lot lower during normal driving.
18. My facelift supra has a minor issue in that there is a couple of millimetres of up and down movement / play on the steering wheel, because part of the tilt mechanism isn't springing back and locking properly. Never really bothered me but it is one of those things to fix! I've been advised that I should try and source a new column from a facelift car but I believe the ignition barrel is part of the column. Can things be arranged so that I can replace the column but still use my existing key?
19. As it happens I repaired my door control ECU so I actually don't need it any more How much do you want for the steering column? To be clear it's the whole assembly which has the tilt-adjuster on it. I am not sure if the ignition barrel is separate or not at this point. You might know more being the one breaking a car
20. Intake air temp? AKA air charge temp... 70 sounds about right, I see similar values after drag runs. Wish it wasn't so high of course.
21. Not sure if it's on here but do you happen to have the steering column?
