  1. Well Simon must be OK as I've just seen his lambo down my local
  2. I thought we did - he'd responded to my wanted thread where I was after the IACV and MAP sensor... We'll see what he says later. If you need a MAP to get a car back on the road then mine can probably wait. Watch this space
  3. Just spotted this on the front page of BBC news... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7370993.stm
  4. hey mate weren't you gonna sell the MAP and IACV to me? James
  5. If I disconnect one of the hoses to the heater matrix at the back of the engine, then stick garden hoses on the pipes and flush through, will that get all around the engine? The reason I ask is that the way I am flushing at the moment seems a bit pants, it just goes in the rad and out the bottom again
  6. Prices haven't appeared for me since the upgrade
  7. Cheers Chris Will no doubt be taking it easy, if only for the sake of my non built engine!
  8. I stand corrected Have never done a track day but my first one is coming up 2 weeks today. Same circuit too so I hope Norris isn't there *grin*
  9. I love the way he legs it over the crash barrier without a thought to the other driver
  10. That guy is very lucky to walk away yet again - didn't see the other chap get out so quick but I assume everyone was OK in the end!
  11. Woot! I got bored of waiting for my refurb kit to turn up, so I cleaned the original contacts with a wire brush, all back together now and she starts first time every time
  12. I like the blue! How did you do that in Photoshop and get it looking so real? Is there are way of mapping a colour range to another colour, or something?
  13. They want £42 for 260cm of the stuff. Can you believe it?
  14. I have the click of death on Supra B - started off intermittent a couple of weeks ago but now it's not starting at all. Got the starter motor off tonight and will order the refurb kit tomorrow. I noticed that carl0s removed the starter completely from the solenoid - is this necessary?
  15. Thanks Chris that's mainly put my mind at ease. Would have been flushing the car again tonight but I haven't been able to start the car since Sunday. On a positive note I have been able to clean up the expansion tank with some tesco kettle de-scaler
  16. Well, 2 more motorfactors and 1 hose specialist later, still no joy The motor trade is starting to make as much sense as my day job in IT!
  17. I had the same problem, resolved by gripping the non-turning part with mole grips.
  18. If only the regular stuff was as easy to get hold of as the "uprated" silicone
  19. Do they do "normal" hose? I don't want samco/silicone, I just need to refresh some piping without paying silly Toyota prices. Am hoping someone like Chris W will notice this and tell me where he gets his stuff from (hint, hint)
  20. The fuel hose they had looked a lot thicker than I needed. The internal diameter I think was ok but it's not really flexible enough:(
  21. *bump* Went to my motor factors today and couldn't find any vac hose at all! They have fuel hose on a reel but that's it
  22. Thanks do you also happen to have the bits needed to refurb a starter motor?
  23. Hey all. I've tried to flush this out today but the rust colour just keeps coming and coming. I can get the rad running more-or-less clear out the bottom but running the engine causes more to come out. I ran the engine for 10 minutes with the heating on full blast constantly filling the rad from a hose. Where could this be coming from? As a side note there are a few places at the front of the engine that have rusty coloured deposits on them - I'm thinking there was some sort of failure or rad leak on this car in the past.
  24. Found a great post on here about what diameter hoses to use: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=116326 However does any one know what lengths to get to re-do the hoses on 1 car? I'll then double it to get some spare for my car Also does anyone have the o/d to hand? I want to do this properly with quality black hosing, not oversized stuff from halfords etc!
  25. Thanks for your responses guys. It looks like it probably isn't my stem seals at the moment, so I won't be doing this for a while. Will enjoy doing it when it comes round to it though!
