  1. Thanks mate that's very helpful, I will stick with what I know already
  2. Hi All I have new Eagle F1 GSD3 tyres on the rear (275/35) I need new front tyres, should I go for the same GSD3 ones or get the new Asymmetric tyres? 235/40 on the front. Cheers James
  3. Do you want a free refurb kit? PM me your address, as I have a spare one.
  4. Had this forwarded to me today with the subject "If Nestle merged with Cadbury" I had to laugh as the humour is just so... bad!
  5. We are going to try and pursue something from Nissan, but I'm not sure if we have any rights (bought the car privately). I checked the mileage just now and it's only done 63k!
  6. Just went to see her at the garage. They retrevied a nice souvenir from the big hole in the side of the engine. Not bad considering nothing's been stripped down yet
  7. Oh dear. http://www.knackerednavara.co.uk ! Will find out from him later how many miles it's done, and whether we'd have any recourse to Nissan (even though we didn't have it from new). I will mention the subject of selling as is. I think the truck would be worth about £7k with a running engine, so I'll see what he says.
  8. It's a D22, bone stock engine, we did an oil change about 3k miles ago. Have just found a message board with lots of similar comments on it, so I am guessing it isn't bulletproof after all. It isn't particularly old, and it's a stunning truck so if this writes her off it will be a great shame:(
  9. My brother seems have all the bad luck with engines. Skyline went pop, then the Evo, now his reliable-up-until-now Nissan Navara (4x4 pickup truck) has gone bang. The con rod has gone through the side of the block, and I'm having trouble understanding how this can happen on a supposedly bulletproof diesel engine at 70 on the dual carriageway He's devastated as he just doesn't have any money at the moment and that truck's been the ever present vehicle that just works, up until now! Just feel completely gutted for him really.
  10. I like the noise of the pump over my Tanabe. Makes me feel like I'm in a race car I don't believe you will be doing any harm with an uprated fuel pump either.
  11. There must be something in the air at the moment!
  12. That's not 100% though. Raised uric acid levels are just that, raised levels. It doesn't mean you have gout. The only 100% diagnosis is to drain the fluid and check for the presence of the crystals. It's still possible to have pseudo-gout and raised levels, then you might be put on allopurinol for the rest of your life for no reason.
  13. The strange thing is that I was pretty healthy even then. Maybe 15kg overweight on my 6'4 frame but nothing too major. I never got a confirmed clinical diagnosis though - and while I am a heavy meat eater, at the time I was nothing like a heavy drinker apart from on that holiday The doctor I spoke with says that while the stereotypical gout sufferer is in his 50s or 60s with a glass of port in his hand, it's actually more common than you may think in younger people - he wasn't surprised at all.
  14. I've had this before, about 2 years ago. It came on after a 2 week holiday in greece (lots of food and drink) and hurt like hell for 4 weeks. Right hand side big toe also. I then improved my diet and it went away for a while. About 6 months ago I thought it was flaring up again, but only lasted for 2 days. As soon as I notice the symptoms I down a couple of strong NSAIDs (indometacin) which seems to see it off! I pretty much self-diagnosed gout, went for a blood test which confirmed slightly higher than normal uric acid level but I never went for the 100% diagnosis where they drain the joint and look at the fluid (ouch!!) Was a bit of a wake up call at 28 to improve my diet... recently seem to be slipping back to my old ways though...
  15. Well I checked the exhaust hangers and it's not that. A mechanic had a listen and says the problem is most likely the rubber mounts at the end of the suspension arms are being pinched because it's a rubber-on-metal noise that I'm getting. Seems strange as it was happening both before and after my CW suspension rebuild
  16. This has now been sold to Andy, thanks mate
  17. Black, kitted, female driver with small number plate ending HKS. I was in my supra going the other way, we spotted each other but I waved too late Also about 2 minutes later, going to the 24hour gym, a stock looking silver one - male driver, reg ending SHK ( I think) Anyone from on here?
  18. Have a great day - my first track day was last month and it was so much fun. Go careful though
  19. I tried pushing the back end down myself last night, no squeak. Probably not with enough force to simulate a bump though - will try that again with a friend at some point.
  20. Thanks guys, I will check the exhaust rubbers, not convinced though as the whole system was changed a few months ago and there was no difference to the noise, unless the same hangers were used, not sure there:)
  21. Guys, Ever since I've had my car the back end squeaks like bedsprings every time I go over a bump. Wasn't fixed by a full suspension rebuild, so assumed it was boot rubbers. However it still seems to occur when I go over a bump with the boot fully open. I've stripped out the back - taken out the wheel, tools, foam, carpet, plastic tray, and I can't see anything that could be running. It's really starting to annoy me now as it's pretty much the only thing that detracts from the ride of the car at the moment. Could it be something like the shocks top mounts or would they have been renewed with my new shocks (CW??)
  22. I wouldn't say I'm "totally" serious, I just want to be able to enjoy a santa pod two or three times a year I think I may go down the RPS Street Max route, with money put aside for one "under the bed" as you say.
