  1. For some reason my brother wants me to fit one of those 33hp restrictor kits
  2. Something for when the Supra just isn't fast enough
  3. It's a 1998 'bird. This was for third party only, fully comp was £400 I think, and on a 2 grand bike I'll just take the risk myself. £240 for a hayabusa too
  4. I've had my motorbike license for all of 1 week, Just for a laugh I got a quote to insure myself on my brother's monster of a Blackbird (1100cc) and it came to... £170 for the year! Can only imagine they want me to hurry up and kill myself already!
  5. A few "proper" laps here:) http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Final-Session-at-CC_178778.htm
  6. It took a couple of tries to start, when it did fire up the revs were erratic for a few seconds, going up to 2500 with no input from me and back down to 1500 and back up again. Also the boost controller showed a peak of 2.0 bar (you can hear the boost warning beeping in the video). No idea what would have caused that so I'm very confused! All seems normal now though and I did 4 more sessions with no issues
  7. Fun day but nearly completely binned the car. Since we all love a good video: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Spinning-out-at-Quarry_178767.htm Couple of minutes in I lose in on Quarry. Not sure what happened - it was the second lap of my first session in. Possibly overconfidence and cold tyres Was VERY lucky I didn't hit anything!
  8. I didn't get to know about any drive by's - not sure if they were even bothering. I've only done one track day before, was also at castle combe - in the wet. I think I was the only car NOT to spin off
  9. I tested at 94dB last time, thanks to my Tanabe
  10. Yep thamesdown drive is my haunt, apart from that I'll be found at the shell garage or the country roads through cricklade / lechlade / fairford - some nice roads around here.
  11. Have booked another track day - there are still 4 places left if anyone fancies a last minute booking. Anyone else from here going?
  12. Nothing wrong with IMHO - the H means Humble doesn't it?
  13. D'oh, I just tried again after another 24 hours and it's still not there. It's not a multi-bike policy, just a new one with Bennets. I should get the policy doc's tomorrow anyway (hopefully) so can go tot he post office assuming I can actually find one that does VED!
  14. Insured my bike yesterday, trying to buy tax online today but it's still coming up as not insured (also uninsured on askmid.com). Anyone know the details of how often data gets pushed to the dvla?
  15. Posting this on behalf of a mate, he used to be a member on here but hasn't got around to renewing. Advert is up on PH and I can vouch for the car, it's a lovely example and has been really well looked after. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/667296.htm I should hassle him to get some engine bay pics up though, rather than the arty pics If you have a questions post them here or just contact Milly directly from the PH ad.
  16. It's actually taken me a lot longer than I first anticipated. I took 5 days of training back in February, which included a test, which I failed. That knocked my confidence a little and I gave it a break, and before I realised it was 5 months later. Roll on to last month, when I had one more day of training to refresh my memory and do another test... which I failed AGAIN! Both times the failure was on the u-turn in the road maneuver. I almost lost balance and my foot automatically went down, which is an instant fail. First time was fair enough, I just wasn't very good at them. The second time around it was pure nerves as I knew it was what failed me the first time. This time, no problems. Not a single minor fault, just a nice ride in the rain and got the u-turn nailed. Apart from the stupid u-turn the test is not hard, especially if you're already a driver or you've had experience on the road with a moped or something. The test is going to become slightly different in the next few months - they will be doing all the maneuvers in controlled conditions on the test centre premises, followed by a road ride, rather than just the road ride they have now. I like to think it's made me a better driver too as I'm now MUCH more aware of bikers on the road.
  17. At the moment I have a 2002 Fazer 600 in blue. Just to have a bit of fun with and go to work on occasionally. Will work up to a bigger bike one day, but for now I'm happy pootling around the countryside My brother just picked up a blackbird to replace his fireblade so there's no way I'm chasing him around!!
  18. I'm sure you could find a better one, mine's had a lot of use
  19. ... and I'll be getting it back in a few weeks with the motorcycle bit added Looking forward to going out on my bike now - I bought it months and months ago!
  20. Today, west swindon near the 24 hour gym. I was on my blue motorbike looking bemused
  21. Ordered 4 x 5L bottles so hopefully be getting 4 x 1L top up bottles too
  22. When I had to re-wire my loom to put the stock ECU back I used a hint from Jody T - unplug everything from the passenger footwell and pull the whole loom up through the bulkhead into the engine bay and work on it there. SO much easier
