  1. So are you changing your name to Flanders now? Well done that's an awesome achievement!
  2. Saw this film last night, not bad but I think I saw a red supra parked up in it in one of the scenes, did anyone else see it?
  3. Well I have no idea about this Watchmen thing - I assumed it was to do with the inkblot tests, hence my slight pun in the thread title Well I slept better last night knowing the mystery is solved!
  4. As above! Going for a week this time. Anyone else going to be there? I met dani_r there last time albeit briefly.
  5. I'm big but didn't have to train for it
  6. I'm sure there are other forums for looking at bodybuilder guys?
  7. Hopefully Nick will spot this and he'll be able to comment. His GTR is not standard
  8. For sale (but not in any rush to sell) is the IHI big twins kit I bought from Michael last year. The reason I'm selling is that I want to keep my stock twins for another season or so, and don't want these to just sit here when they could be hurtling down the strip for a 10 second run They are good for 900bhp with all the supporting mods. Original link here - hope michael is OK with me nicking his sales pitch http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=147199 Looking for similar price as to what I bought them for but can consider offers. I paid around £1800.
  9. My tubbies are parallel so they both come on together. Also after my first drive the missfire was apparent even at idle - every few seconds the engine note would dip out and wasn't stable.
  10. This post is to help anyone searching if they have the same problem I did on Saturday. Refreshed coil pack connectors and changed spark plugs, went for a drive. All good until turbos kicked then, then it felt/sounded like a rev limiter kicking in. After much sodding about trying to isolate the fault I found that I'd got the conductors to the coil pack the wrong way round on cylinder 1. The wires are a different colour on this one and it must have confused me. Interestingly it was causing an intermittent missfire rather than no spark at all on that cylinder!
  11. hehe that was my mate's GT4 - he was Well Chuffed™ that he was ahead of me for a while there. He's running 290bhp and to be fair he keep up with me on the road, great car. He got off the line a lot quicker, but got a 14.7 which aint too bad for his car. Yep it's only started when you start moving. I knew reaction times didn't really count so I was purposely not rushing. Cheers for the comments - first run was atrocious but the problem is I kept trying to improve but my times were getting worse
  12. This is awful news, my thoughts are with his loved ones. Makes me think hard about things as I'm in the same position having just passed my bike test 6 months ago and have a very powerful bike RIP Paul!
  13. Have just posted some vids of my runs, from inside the car - so you can hear what's going on and when the tyres slip etc. 1 - No gadgets, 1.1 bar, 14.1 sec 2 - No gadgets, 1.1 bar, tried to make the launch smoother. Less juddering but slow start. 14.1 sec 3 - RLTC in use - set to 16% (figure pulled from my ass) and Launch control with revs set at 3400rpm. May be a bit too low as launch again seemed slow. 1.2 bar this time. 14.2 sec If anyone has time to look and comment that would be great. Am thinking it's a combination of lack of practise and cold tyres. I've lost the detachable controller to my line-lock kit so my burnouts were pathetic
  14. hey guys, thanks for the tips. May have to get some drag tyres for next time, got to be worth a try anyway! Of course I was still faster than most there yesterday, there were even some cars in the mid 19s *grin* Day was good and managed a nice shot of the jet car with my little point and shoot.
  15. 2.57, 2.63, 2.68 Looking back at Supra pod... ok randon sample 2.24, 2.54,2,18 So yeah looks like my launches are crap. Are there any sites that let you enter all the numbers and compare timeslips?
  16. Yellow bilsteins with CW springs. Not sure what my Geo is set up as though, but it's not specifically set up for drag, and I probably wouldn't want it to be either. I do track too
  17. Don't think so - I've had Eagle F1s on all the time, although they are the newer Asymmetric ones now.
  18. Arrggh! Went to chav-central fast show at santa pod yesterday, for my first session for 6 months or so. Only had 3 runs but this was the 3rd session in a row where I have been spectacularly disappointed in my runs. Now, at Supra Pod 2007 I had a brilliant time, and was consistently hitting mid 13s or lower with a best time of 13.066 on the day. This was with a bone stock car with the boost controller turned up to 1.2 bar. Since then my car has had:- - 650cc injectors - PowerFC and map by Ryan - Loads of suspension bits - gauges etc to safely do BPU - new SMIC - RLTC - Line lock However no matter what I try I keep getting sodding low 14s and if I'm very lucky high 13s. It's embarrassing! The first time I went on the strip after adding all my gadgets I didn't do very well, and put it down to gadget overload. I was trying to use the line lock kit, and RLTC launch control and didn't really know what I was doing, and 3 runs isn't enough to play and practise. Yesterday, I turned RLTC off an forgot about the line lock kit completely to try and go back to basics. My first launch was crap and the car juddered (14.1). Second launch was smoother but just not fast enough, again 14.1. 3rd launch I though went really well until I was told it was a sodding 14.2! My car has more than enough power and I can't see what else I can do, apart from more and more practise but it's very hard with only 3 runs and many different variables. Suspension set up wrong? Too much torque / not enough traction? Me just being crap? Sorry for the rant but I hope some of you may have some ideas
  19. Hey all - I have this same issue - it suddenely stopped working after my last visit to a garage (however they did nothing electrical). I've taken my driver's side door card off, and there's only one connector which goes to the bank of door switches. I disconnect this and the problem is still there. Doesn't look damp or anything either. To confirm my problem is that the remote alarm fob won't unlock to doors, but it will lock them OK. Also the central locking does the same thing - when I lock the driver's door the passenger lock too but then won't unlock.
  20. Wonder if this will tempt anyone: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=136239
