  1. Googlebot would query robots.txt first, then decide if it can root through your stuff. If robots.txt didn't exist when the bot started its run then it won't have any effect. Keep an eye on things and I reckon you'll see the bot query robots.txt soon enough and that will be the end of it. It's interesting that you run an FTP server rather than a HTTP server though - FTP is more old-skool these days!
  2. When did you create the robots.txt? Perhaps the bot hasn't picked it up yet. Google *should* respect the file: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=40364
  3. Homer it's not clear if you are after absolute resolution (why??) or the width of the browser used to view the forum. I know it's fashion for Windows users to have a maximised browser but this is getting less common now.
  4. Wow that's a special car. Can you make the new buyer sign something to say it won't be modified?
  5. Could the crankshaft position sensor be telling the ECU that the engine is cranking when it isn't?
  6. Damn my short attention span. After 30s of adverts and disclaimer I couldn't be bothered any more
  7. Welcome to the club! And of course we want to see pics of the car!
  8. Oh BTW the price in the ebay auction is just a guide - I'd probably let it go for anything over £400 as I'm just not getting much interest and its taking up room.
  9. So you're RAIDing and backing up - good man! A lot of people's rationale for not doing one of these is that they do the other. At the moment I have 4 x 1Tb disks in raid5 for 3Tb usable which is plenty for now. However when I installed the OS I accidently selected raid0 the first time round and nearly fell off my chair when I performed a read speed test - over 400Mb/s! Getting about 250MB/s now which is damn good though
  10. I would imagine for a typical home system most data wouldn't really be duplicated to an extent where de-dupe would work very well - unless you're doing something quite specialised! Sadly there's not really any better way of doing it without spending mega money. This is something I've noticed over the years - the massive growth in hard drive capacities haven't been matched by the technology that would allow said drives to be backed up. I remember my mum using a 40mb tape streamer years ago which was more than enough to back up the entire hard drive and tapes were cheap. What do people do these days? In my experience - not a lot, data loss seems to be part of everyday life.
  11. I've not used Datadomain but I may look into it especially now that EMC have bought / are buying them. Hmmm a cheap way of backing up 4Tb? Well these days you can store that on 2 hard drives as you know but it just depends on the requirements - and how quickly recovery would be required! Sounds like it's for a business though if you're looking at Dedupe tech
  12. Yes I run NetBackup at home - I worked for Veritas for a couple of years supporting it when 4.5 was the current version. It looks after all my home data and it's also a testbed for when I need to try things out (I'm contracting as a Netbackup person now). Replaced the SDLT library with a Scalar i500 (2 x LTO3 and 30 slots) which should last me a while... streaming to tape at 70Mb/sec is very nice - even though LTO3 can support much higher throughputs, I don't think my server can! JustGav - what VTLs are you using? I have a Falconstor VM running on my laptop running their VTL software, and I work for EMC with their repackaged EDL version. Glad to see there are some other storage geeks on here!
  13. This is so far off topic it's not even funny but I thought I'd advertise this here in case. I have for sale a Quantum ATL M1500 Tape library with an SDLT tape drive installed. It's a 20 slot model. I have this on eBay so take a look, and get in touch on the club if you're interested or know someone who might be. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160345453050 Oh BTW the price in the ebay auction is just a guide - I'd probably let it go for anything over £400 to a member as I'm just not getting much interest and its taking up room. It's a fairly specialised peice of kit so if you don't know if you need this or not then you probalbly don't! I used it at home for my NetBackup system running on Linux if anyone cares James
  14. Can you post specs, what size are the tyres, and offset etc?
  15. I tried some Skyline 16" wheels last night - they didn't clear but there was only a few mm in it. In fact the wheel went on, it just didn't want to turn afterwards! I'd buy the 16's if I *knew* they would fit but sadly that's not guaranteed
  16. Guys, what would be best for Supra Pod - my 275mm 18s with R888 on them or Some thinner 255mm 17" inch wheels with some drag tyres on? Ideally I want something smaller but they'd never clear my brakes. Boo!
  17. I'm looking to source 2x or 4x 17" alloy wheels. I need ET45 or ET50 offset on a 9.5 or 10 inch wide wheel As you can guess these are for the drag strip. I can't go smaller than 17" with my UK brakes though!
  18. Swindon... southwest (ish) (kinda)
  19. What could have caused the same problem on my previous (CW) clutch? Wondering if it could be an underlying issue somewhere.
  20. Is that likely to be costly Chris? Something you've done on Supras before now?
  21. Just wanted to bump this to get some more ideas. I just realised that this problem started to occur *before* I got the RPS Street Max fitted, so I thought getting a new clutch would sort it. It's happening more and more now, essentially I cannot reverse if I need to when I'm out and about on the road unless I turn the engine off, engage reverse and then start her up again. Even with the clutch fully depressed I have to control the car with the brake in reverse -it's like an auto Still have the problem with 1st gear too, it's not as bad but I really have to use a LOT of force to push the clutch down, else I get the dreaded crunching noise and people give me funny looks! Can I adjust the pedal a little to get more travel? Any other ideas?
  22. Ah, brilliant, thanks. I was wondering if the new olive I have is in it's "uncompressed" form or something, but obviously not! Cheers James
  23. No I'm putting the old nut on first, then the olive, but then when I offer the pipe up to where it's going, the nut doesn't reach the threaded connector (that you can't see) because the olive is in the way. Is brute force required? James
  24. I'll be using the old nut. The other end of the pipe has a flared end and another nut already on there for fitting to the pressure tank end.
