I cant drive the car any more as i am constantly thinking about what is going to need fixing next. I have owned it for 4 years now and have enjoyed every moment of it, but im starting to think enough is enough. I have just bought a house so money is very tight now and may be for quite some time in the future. Therefore i will no longer be able to buy things for it as they are to expensive so its just going to sit in the garage un used. I have spent a small fortune on the car over the years and i can longer do it. My job is also a uncertanty as some of you may have seen on the tv (bae systems). I need a car that i can turn the key knowing that it is going to get me from a to b without any problems. My engine has started with a rattle the other day and knowing my luck it will be something major that i wont be able to fix. I have missed every supra pod and every meet i have wanted to go to. I feel sick at the thought of seling it, but i think the time has come to let it go.

I was fearing you would all say that. If it needs a re-build then its time for me to leave the supra scene as i really cant afford to do that at all. I have just purchased a house and every penny is accounted for at the min. My other car is in for its mot tomorrow so touch wood it passes. Is there any one that can come to Preston to have a listen to cast there view on it. Im not having much luck with the supra at the moment so im starting to think this is the final straw and selling up

On my way to work this morning I discovered that the car has developed a rattle coming from the engine. At first i thought it might be low on oil. when i checked the oil level it was below the min line. I then drove home to top it up with some spare oil i have in the garage. This hasnt cleared the rattle at all, if any thing its getting worse. The only way i can describe the sound is to compare it to a rattly diesel engine, i thought one of the hydraulic lifters may have run dry but sureley after 5 miles it should have re-filled again. Im starting to panic now thinking that is is something far worse. The noise is there all the time but is definitely more prominent between the rev range of 3-4 k. At first i could only hear it when i passed parked cars and walls but now i can hear it when ever. Help me please.

On a down note can you get hold of Honda Chaly (Honda CF70) parts out there on the cheap, as they are really difficult to get hold of here in the uk. -
I was aproched by a witness to my bump last night. He said it was a mate of my next door neighbour that did it, He said he pulled up outside my house and went to my neighbours got him to come out and have a look at it and then they both went back inside. Im going round tonight to have words with him, as he should have told me as he is covering it up. My witness has a reg, car model and colour so if all else fails i will get in touch with the police to try and get hime done for a hit and run as it is a criminal offence. What would you do in this situation. Im just going to ask him if he knows anything about it, if he denies it i will drop the bomb shell that i have a witness that has seen his mate do it, and seen you come out to take a look at the damage and not let me know. Should i go down the route of getting a quote to repair the damage and bill his mate for it? Help would be appreciated. Gav

I have a Mammut 30M climbing rope. 6 Quick draws 3 short made by DMM Wales 3 long made by Clog Climbing UK I also have a set of climbing nuts ranging from HB2 - HB9 Uk size. The rope has only been used once for an indoor climb and has never been used since, as it was too short for any of the climbs we wanted to do outdoors. So it has just been sat bagged up in my cupboard for 6 months, It is a good quality rope and rest assured it has been dry stored and only used once. The six quick draws i have are completely brand new and have never seen a wall and have never been climbed or fallen on. The only things that have been used it the climbing nuts, they dont look in the best of condition due to being ally and have dulled, but they have never been fallen on and none of the wires have frayed. Im after £120 + delivery for the job lot or i can split it up if you need anything. Ill post some pics up in a min.

I have a power kite here, it is a flexifoil 4.9 meter. Im not sure which model/year it is, but its blue with silver/grey I cant remember what the length of the lines are of hand, but i can measure if needed. I bought it off ebay about 2 years ago and have used it a total of about 10 times, this is a very powerful kite so its not for the faint hearted. It has dragged me up many a field. It has also lifted me up to around 20 ft in a good wind which was bloody scary. I can get pics if required but i live in a terraced house at the moment so its a bit of a pain in the arse to get out and pack away again indoors without taking it to my local park. It comes with the flexifoil back pack, and string tidy but i never use it as i found it always gets tangled using it. I would be looking in the region of around £150 to £200 for it. let me know what you think if you want any more info.

Do you think the tyre is still safe seeing as it has had a sizeable chunk taken out of the side wall?
-
Its ok where it is now, Its just there was no other choice last night. So i had to leave it on the corner.
-
I dont have any other choice, I really cant wait to move house (4 weeks then i get a drive and garage).

Came out to my car this morning to find this. I apologise in advance if the pictures are a bit large. Quite a fair bit of it is just rubber exchange, but the majority of it has scratched or scored it. The bumper has been pushed in making it crack along one of the mounting points, and because the wing has been pushed in slightly it has made the paint crack and flake above the arch which will now need protecting to stop it rusting. Im not sure how the tire happened but im pretty sure i havent done it as i would have known about it. I had to park at the end of the street which is what i dont like doing at the best of times, it is quite a sharp corner with cars parked either side. There is a scaffolding lorry that parks at the other end of our street and i suspect its him, its tight enough for a car to turn never mind a bloody 30ft lorry. Especially seeing as it would have to be a large wheel to do the damage. Im mad as fewk at the moment so i shall be taking a look at his lorry wheels when they return back. Gav

I have just purchased a full set of turbo pipes, throttle body and intake manifold. Seeing as a lot of people go for the polished look, I thought i would try something a little different. I was thinking along the lines of powder coating, but i cant decide on a colour. I have spoken to a few of my local powder coating places, and I would ideally need it in a high temp coat, and the vast majority of them have said that they only have it in black, and i was thinking of gunmetal grey.

I had the same thing, And it turned out to be my plugs, even though i only had them in for about 2k miles. was'nt too happy. I dont know if this is true or not, But i was told you can damage the iridium sparkies by doing short trips, or turning you engine on and off for brief moments of time i.e moving the car 6 foot up the drive, which is what i did alot of.

Had supra a week - comments from work.. Should I be annoyed?
gavin.starr replied to supra_aero's topic in Supra Chat
F**k em, You love it and thats all that counts. I had a lad call mine chavvy, and he had a ford fiesta in white with two blue stripes flowing over it from the front to the back, so I told him to sod off and drive off in his tesco value shopping bag (he didnt like that) -
Any machinist or hobyists that has or can get hold of CAD Cam. Has any one got a copy of cad cam i could get a copy of, If you know what i mean. Cheers Gav P.S Or if you know anywhere safe i can download a free copy from that would be great.

ebay wheel bearings? (think its my wheel bearing at least)
gavin.starr replied to Lude's topic in mkiv Technical
I did it all myself, jacked the car up and removed the hubs some of the ball joints were a pain but nothing major. I bought the same bearings that you have listed. And only got charged £30 to do the pressing out and in. Saved my self a fortune in labour charges. -
Another tel tale sign is a bit of vibration when breaking too.

Really, Are they that bad.

My mate lived on a farm, he had a few travellers set up camp in one of his fields, they were there for a week, until he noticed equipment, machinery and his red diesel disappearing. His dad got rather pissed of, got the jcb out and drove over to the camp. He first asked politely for them to leave, they refused. So he proceeded in digging a 6' wide by 5' deep trench around there camp. He left enough space for them to get the caravans etc.. out and said if your not gone by the morning then im going to block you in so that your cant go anywhere. When he got up in the morning they had taken the hint and left.
