  1. I used to live on a terraced street, I used to get my car egg'd on a regular basis. So I took it apon myself to type out a letter for every house on the street asking them to politely stop doing so. Word soon got out between neighbours as to who was doing it. So I wrote them a nice personal letter saying that you need to be carefull as to who you tell about your antics as word soon gets round and If the abuse doesnt stop to my car I will be taking it further and not involving the police. I let them know what car they drove so I knew what vehicle retaliate on. Funny enough the egg'ing stopped immediatey. Wankers. Needless to say when I moved house I got my payback that morning.
  2. Deffo Intrested too, Ive been hoping something like this would cmoe around for a while as going single was just a bit out of my price range.
  3. Good peice's of kit, But also a bit out of my price rance too.
  4. Cool well thats good to know, I shant be placing an order then lol
  5. Thinking the same mate when i finaly get up off my arse and fix my car. But im pretty sure im just going to go with uk spec disks and pads with braided lines. Im also going to replace the old lines under the car too whilst im at it for peace of mind.
  6. They seem to be good quality and at a reasonable price ofer replacing everything with stock items, With the added benefit of being adjustable. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/japspeed-store?_nkw=jza80&LH_TitleDesc=1 Gav
  7. I really need to crack on with this I was in talks with a plastics moulding company that said they could make me the complete lense. So that it would be a direct replacement (no chopping of the originals) but dropped the bomb shell of the cost of the tooling at 10k so I soon dismissed that. Looking into other routes at the min though.
  8. Hell of a job for on the driveway. I did all my rear suspension components with genuine toyota replacements around a 2 years ago. Expensive but worth it.
  9. Its not too bad to be honest, I was expecting worse. Whats its current selling price?
  10. Ive just done a repair on a cylinder head on a 125cc The spark plug thread was fecked, I needed an M10x1mm pitch around 16mm long. Ebay come up with a kit at £7, and 5 longer coils at a cost of £2, Yea the kit is cheap and the tap wasnt the best, But I inserted the coil and the spark plug fits like a glove. Gav
  11. Helicoils for the win. Ive used them for years. They really are a piece of P*** to install and are a hell of a lot better than oversizing you hole to suit a new thread/stud which is going to be going directly back into an ally threaded hole. Also if you tighten in the stud propperly before you install your manifold it should never come undone again. Try locking two nuts together on the exhaust side of the thread and running it into the block to a set torque, undo the nuts, remove them from the stud and then install you manifold using some copper exhaust manifold nuts. Simples. Gav
  12. If you caught the neck of the bottle i could understand it, they are bloody tough.
  13. Ill have a look around my area on the internet and see what i can find. If not I may just flush it with an engine de-greaser of some sort.
  14. Wouldnt know where to look to be honest.
  15. Im now in the process of re-freshing my spare block to be used in my car. But whilst its on the stand, Is it possible to give all the water ways a good flush out without having the head on. I was thinking about plugging up all the water ways apart from the holes at the top(where the head gasket sits) and filling it to the top with Gunk or a similar product. And the flushing it all out afterwards. also whilst Im at it I was thinking of replacing the freezing plugs or should i not bother, or are they relitavley easy to do? cheers Gav
  16. Mine is hopefully going to be going with a when i get round to removing it.
  17. As always mega helpful I love this owners club. cheers guys gav
  18. Ah rite cool. Ill keep that in mind.
  19. Yea thats my plan im going to use a piggy back ecu, I just wondered if its a complicated precedure for the injectors.
  20. What's the process with fitting uk 550cc injectors into the j-spec supra, Are they just a drag and drop application or do you need to use the uk rail? I remember reading something that you need to use the uk resistor pack with them too. Im after fitting them and upping the boost on my hybrids once it's all put back together again, The j-specs will probably suit but i just want to make sure. Ive done a search but my skills pulled out nothing but that could just be me being stupid. Gav
  21. Whats tho going rate for a pre faclift, manual tt, J-spec mines ecu these days around £400 or something? Also with the turbos being hybrid and being able to withstand running higher boost levels, would it be benefitial to remove the 1.2 bar restrictor ring from the de cat pipes? Or would i still get to much of a boost spike for them to handle.
  22. Good stuff, Ill get my shopping list sorted at the weekend and maybe place an order soon. Going to revamp the entire engine bay with new bits so I know its good for the remaining sands of time. Not gonna be cheap though. Thanks marc Gav
  23. Any one able to shed some light?
  24. Whifbitz If you want a genuine one. Expect to pay more than your linked one though.
  25. Right circumstances have now changed. Which means that i will no longer be able to continue with going down the single route house repairs and other items that need to be sorted have taken priority unfortunatley. My question now is, I have a built engine purchased from Michel which is all lightned and ballanced, Michel mentioned that the standard ecu wouldnt be able to keep up with the ignition and fuel timing due to the fact that the engine will rev quicker and therefore the ecu will struggle to keep up with the timing. I already have the mines ecu fitted and wondered if this would be sufficient to run the timing more effectivley, or would i still need to purchace a Piggy back ecu to run it, and if I do would the standard ecu need to be used or can i piggy back from the mines. My other question is. I already have a set of hybrids on the supra which i intend on using again instead of going single, But im after upping the boost from what i was using (0.7 Bar) up to around the 1.2 Bar region. If i were to do this would I need to change the standard 440cc injectors for some larger cc, I.e 550cc from the UK spec and if so what other mods do i need to run them, as far as im aware they are not just a straight forward drop in for the J-Spec. I want to do things right the first time so that I dont have to pull it all apart again later on down the line, because I didnt do it propperly first time around. Just trying to run budgets through my head and see what I can eliminate from my list of parts required. Any help would be great as the last thing I want to do is damage the engine due to poor fuel and ignition timing issues. Gav
