  1. Is this a simple thing to do, I cant immagine it being too difficult. I want to use an aftermarket plenum so the battery is going to get in the way. I know loads of people have done it and just wondered how they got on. Also is there any preferance to what sort of battery to use as its going to be within the cabin space so would a dry cell sealed battery be more suitable? Any pics of peoples battery re-locations would be great. I appologise if this has been asked a million times but the searc box didnt bring anything sufficient for me. Thanks Gav
  2. I really wouldnt be able to say what it would work on. Apart from a j spec twin turbo engine. As thats what it is currently being used on. Dim sum with regards to the uk spec it has larger injectors etc... which the mines isnt set up for as the j spec are 440cc I think from memory. Sorry I cant be much more helpfull than that.
  3. I know that they are pretty rare now, I still have my standard ecu which i can use for moving the car about until I get my new ecu installed. So my Mines is somewhat surplus to requirements now.
  4. I was thinking around the 300 mark, It should at least help out towards something
  5. I currently have a mines ECU fitted and will hopefully soon be upgrading to a syvecs I just wondered what sort of money they fetch, its for a manual 6 speed, and currently fitted to my J-Spec. Im in need of a few extra bits for my eventual build so im hoping this may help towards buying some things. Any help would be great. Gav
  6. Any chance of posting me in some links please. Gav
  7. Would I need a Supra specific q45 throttle body with regards to the throttle position sensor? or would a universal one fit with some adjustments to get the sensor to fit etc... Has any one used the standard throttle body on one of these intake plenums?
  8. Hi I recently wone one of these on ebay when an auction came up. I ended up winning it for £82 which I didnt mind paying as its not a massive loss if it doesnt fit quite correctly. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Polished-Inlet-Intake-Manifold-For-Toyota-Supra-Aristo-JZA80-3-0L-2JZ-GE-2JZ-GTE-/271448838490?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f339c915a#ht_2764wt_1153 Same as the item I won. My question is with regards to what throttle body to use with it and what to do with the airflow sensors etc. I have a spare standard throttle body off a 2jz-gte which i could make an adaptor plate to attach to the face of the plenum or would a new aftermarket one be better. Gav
  9. That was what then happened to me about three months after my first incident, I couldnt afford to go single so i put some hybrids in instead. Are you on UK or J-spec turbos, as mine were J spec and the entire shaft on the hot side of the turbo got spat out the exhaust.
  10. Sounds similar to waht happened to me a few years back. I got the bang and a ping ping ping noise which happened to be a jubilee clip skipping its way down the road after popping the hose off the intercooler pipe.
  11. You can heat it up with a heat gun, You have to be carefull mind so you dont blister the platic. Looks like good stuff though.
  12. No one will know unless you tell them what they are.
  13. get it painted. It will help massivley with keeping the dust down that you get from concrete.
  14. They have just made all the people at preston branch redundant as their main process was tax disks. I think its disgusting how big companies and the government feel they can just shit on people from high above. We need to make savings. Ah well just sack some staff. I dont see anyone at the top offering to take a 15k pay drop out of their ££££££ to help keep someone in a job.
  15. Hi paul. Do you know if the mines ecu would run these turbos sufficiently or would a new piggyback or stand alone be better with regards to getting the turbos setup propperly. Gav
  16. Engine out, Bottom end re-build, and engine back in again. All turbo pipes and intake pipes to be powder coated. I just cant make my mind up on a colour though. Give the car a good looking over and Tidy up the exterior as its looking rather tatty now after not being used for nearly 2 years.
