Best way to check is on a boost gauge, 1.2 BAR or 18PSI is considered a max safe limit for stock turbos.

No, i have CW Full Decat, Apexi N1 exhaust system, TRL Fuel Cut Defencer and the colder rated NGK Laser Platinum Plugs, oh yeah and the slag of all mods, the restrictor ring.

Richard, certainly dont discount changing the plugs. i was advised to do this when i decatted and had the exhaust fitted. I know of two owners who didnt and had the problem you have described. One is a local guy not on the BBS and the other Justin. Chris Wilson warned me of this potential problem so it may be worth contacting him. I probably should know what my plugs are but i do not have the exact description. I know they are NGK Laser Platinum sold by CW. HTH Chris

Didnt it, always catches me out especially when i pay no attention to dates and see peoples names who walked from this site ages ago. Good though as i missed it first time round and it answers some questions i had. Cheers

Glad you are OK Phil . Thats scary sh!t. Bad it happened but good it happened in a slower situation. Dread to think what would have happened cornering on fast road.

I think the black diamond are good, i also had the cross drilled on my Celica GT, no problems and braking was very good. They are a bit pricey compared to stock. Just depends how good they are on a Supra i guess.

OK just second CAT, the first cat straight off the turbos is still their is it. If that is the case that is not so bad but not so easy to explain what your problem may be.

Do you have any kind of boost controller. Is your exhaust system straight through or do you have a restrictor plate. Most if not all J-Specs that are decatted along with a Blitz or equivalent exhaust system experience runaway boost and have to have some kind of restrictor put in place. If you do not have this you are more than likely hitting 1.4\1.5 BAR . 1.2 is MAX for a stock turbo set up.

Agreed if you dont want a Front mount and are happy with a SMIC then Chris Wilson's has to be the best option over Toyota.
