  1. I thought about the Mongoose to as it works out quite a lot cheaper to have one of those rather than buying a cat back system and then having the cats replaced too. Having spoken to somebody about it though I decided against it on there opinion. £500 saving on the Mongoose though.....fair few quid. The mongoose on my old Cossie was quiet to start with....but after 6 months of (ab) use it got louder.
  2. No problem. Yeah, thats right mate. I liked yours so much I went out and bought a car to match! Tell you what though.....nice and easy to clean! They are mint wheels too.....totally unmarked, like brand new. Won't be long though til I get the urge to change them I shouldn't think!
  3. Go to Halfords.....if it fecks up before it's 5 years old they just swap it. Edited: Forgot to mention, it's only 3 years if you buy the cheaper one.
  4. And you'll need to travel about 10 junctions of the average motorway to get it up there too!
  5. True. Mine are still trying to tell me to forget the V160 for the gear box and put in the Shell stuff they provide.
  6. I can tell a small difference in acceleration between my old J-Spec and my current UK car. I don't think there is a great deal in it though.....
  7. Shame the UK car didn't come with a huge single turbo. Couldn't see anything wrong with tht idea.
  8. Bad luck mate. Ah well, only one more day without speeding.
  9. There are two fuse boxes, from memory mate one is under the dash somewhere but I can't remember an exact position (Doh!) and the other under the bonnet obviously. In the one under the bonnet.....check the fuse marked "Dome". (It's a 7.5) If that one isn't blown.....then the fuse thats gone will be in the dash box. You might be lucky.....it could be the easy access one! HTH:) Oh, if you can't find it and I'm still at work I'll pop outside and have a looksy for ya.
  10. Cheers chaps. I will commence pestering on Friday when they re-open.
  11. Hi Chris. About the owners manual, I asked the same question last week I think it was. Well, something similar but the answer you want is in there too. The owners manual for UK, US, Euro and Jap are all the same just translated in to the relevant language. As for the boost gauge, I never had it out but if you pop it out you 'may' find it has a back light bulb actually in it but it may have gone pop and need replacing. Cause you may not. To check you'll need to pop the back off the sealed unit, just becareful not to lose any bits! I seem to remember that there are usually two little screws holding the unit together. Hope that helps a bit mate.
  12. Taken from "Service Fluids Thread". Very helpful stuff as I needed to know which gearbox oil to use. I remember somebody saying it had to be Toyota's own stuff but couldn't remember which kind. So, today I took myself down to Mr T (Who may I add are very nice blokes at my local dealer) and said I was gonna be getting the gearbox oil changed, what kind of oil did they use. To which they replied Shell!?!?!?! Hmmm, decided to leave it as this didn't sound right. Now they said they'd order me a different kind if I needed it and looking above, ToyotaV160 is what I need. Anybody got the part number please...?? Is it right that if I don't use this stuff the seals rot or something in the box...??
  13. A personal favourite of my own. They don't like it very much though when you use it and they've just finished fitting a battery. Dunno why!
  14. Hally Fords do a free battery test mate. Pop in next time your passing and jobs a good un. If you don't wanna pay there price then just say the old "I don't have the cash on me now" line.
  15. "Regards Terry Purple MKIV T Stock" Stock. Hmmmmmm...............
  16. Interesting AND good stuff mate. Did you do any runs with max boost from No 2 Turbo mate or just number 1...??
  17. Right chaps. I thought I'd have a test in my Supra (And a last drive to drive it before it goes on Saturday) to see when it comes on boost etc after reading this thread. Obviously, I only did it for you guys.....wouldn't normally have put my foot down so much. Anyway, my J-Spec.....accellerating in 2nd gear from 1500rpm, first turbo is in straight away at about 0.5bar....this stays boosting (Obviously) then at around the 4k mark the second turbo bangs in to life at about 0.85bar, after that obviously you can hold both turbos on boost quite happy. My car still has CAT's, just has an after market exhaust from cats back. So, sounds like my J-Spec is similar to JB's UK car.......maybe..??
  18. Sounds to me like a standard set up mate.

    Blitz BOV

A guess but I'd say as the UK car has an air flow meter it requires the re-circ of the standard dump valve. The jap cars have MAP sensors, hence don't require the air to go back in to the system. Tis only a guess though, so if anybody can confirm for the chap.
  20. Cheers for info JB. Well, I pick the car up tomorrow so I'll be having a proper look at what it's got on again (And no doubt on Monday posting a list of what to do with them all so get ready for that!) in detail instead of the passing glance as I did before. I did see the car was boosting a 1bar though on the boost gauge it has fitted and I'm sure it has cats in place. However, it does (Using my memory here) have a HKS F-CON (What you do with this I have NO idea!), some sort of graphical display thing (Not technical in the description there I know) and a boost controller of some sort. It also has a 5.5" exhaust on the back...think it's a Greddy if I remember rightly. So, assuming I don't find anything else upon further inspection do you reckon I'm better off running it down at 10psi until the cats are out and the odd spurts at say 1bar...? I don't wanna wreck my new toy you see.....
  21. So what about if they are still in....? Cos mine are.
