  1. I know more about cooking than i do about mechanics and thats sayin somethin so i aint touchin the car. Its a combination of boost issues, idle issues, smoke issues.......... Thats why i just want to give it to the right person (with a blank cheque:faint:)to sort it. No hassle just results
  2. Cheers for that Alan. I get the impression on here that CW is one of the most knowledgable guys there is. Hes closer than Whifbitz so if people say hes the best il go there ( Was hopin for Envy cause its close:p) but the journeys worth it to get car right
  3. From memory i think Geo uses west coast customs in irvine but as to whether they are supra specialists i dont know
  4. Its the same old story. One problem fixed another develops. The supposed japanese specialist garages im using have no focused knowledge on supras. Its gettin to the stage im considering puntin the car but id rather try and get it fixed one last time. I just want the """BEST""" person to sort it. Is Envy one of my best options from Glasgow? If i have to travel far tho to get the best i will and ill pay for the best. Just need it fixed b4 i have a mid life crisis and get a 3 series Please no random garages down backlanes that you know a guy. Im after the best person i can get with the facilities available to fix it. There must be somone renowned as the best Much appreciated Dave Wilson
  5. Ok cheers nigel. If 275 is an option then id probably go for that. The supras a wide car so 275 would also look better suited from the back. Cheers porky for suggestin camskill. there the cheapest ive seen at 265 £93 275 £116
  6. Grip is an issue Paul. A cheap 265 has more grip than a cheap 255 Only £10 difference between a shit 255 and 265 as opposed to far more £££ for a quality 255. Id say im a genius
  7. So from what your sayin 265 should be the largest as 275 will overhang and seems to have caused issues for people. I found some nice cheap falkens 265 fk-452's for £110. Not wantin to spend alot so theyd do Cheers people Much appreciated Dave
  8. Time to fork out on new tyres. Whats the largest tyres that can be fitted safely to uk spec 9.5 rears. The 255's werent doing the job so is 265 or 275 an option? cheers Dave
  9. Yeah yeah we know your always right but we just dont admit it for obvious reasons
  10. Yeah was thinking i was pushing it slightly. Was just going to leave it and hope for the best but il maybe see if i can get a 1.2rr. What can the uk turbos be run at out of interest?
  11. Yeah still stock Jspec turbos
  12. After all the hassle iv had it ended up being the Greddy FCD that was causing car to run lean. AVA adjusted it on the rollers and it now has a safe mix with no detination. That allowed boost to be raised upto 1.25-1.3 and achieved 349rwhp. I found that AVA dont have a specific knowledge of supras but their general knowledge was enough to find the issue and deal with it. Ill go back there from now on with any issues or just to see the car on rollers again;) Cheers Dave
  13. In the words of Nic "Waste of time on stock turbos". Thats the to the point response i wanted. Cheers people Dave
  14. Is there much benefit in fitting uk cams injectors to a jspec or is it a waste if time. Is it a simple swap Cheers Dave
  15. There is no boost controller but i have a boost gauge. With rr in gauge reads 1bar and without its approx 1.25(thats with 1st cat out and 2nd still in). On whether the car was lean before parts were fitted i dont know. Basically as soon as the fcd and pump were fitted i took out rr(1.25bar) and took car straight to get fueling checked. Was told it was badly lean on this setup but i hadnt had fueling checked on previous 1bar setup before fcd and pump were fitted so i dont know how it was before. I noticed when the stem seals were getting done that there was alot of oil in head so im starting to wonder if it has been running lean and caused damage to a piston. Ill need to get a leak down test done to confirm this. One other thing that has had me puzzled is wiring inside engine bay which is white and has "FET Tuning System" printed on it. All the connectors from this wiring are just lying loose doing nothing. Going to just bite the bullet and get the fuelling/boost etc checked on rollers at AVA and just hope they know what their doin Cheers Dave
  16. Car used to run with BKR7E but currently has BCPR7E. As far as i know the gap wasnt set to 0.9. What is the manufactured gap on these when new? Too much cash to start buying a wideband sadly. Car just has stock twins. As far as fault codes go i wouldnt know where to start with that Rob. I havnt seen the MIL light on ever but thats as much as i know on that Dave
  17. The car also has a poor idle. First 20 seconds is ok then it fluctuates between 500-1000 with a hint of misfire. The plugs are new and as far as i can see all the spade connectors are fine so could this be connected to the fueling problem?
  18. Its Jap, about 65k on clock from memory, Whifbitz supplied the Walbro, My mate fitted it Cant remember fcd make that i got from Whifbitz, My mate fitted it again (Im noticing a trend here) No aftermarket fpr fitted that im aware of No other performance mods, Fuel filter changed few monhs ago, Car was tested at 1.2bar by garage using wideband and was told it was badly lean above 4k. O2 sensors havent been changed or cleaned that i know of. Cheers Rob
  19. Nah iv never had the supra down in troon. Always down in the hilux. Just added pics of my supra in profile but there not appearing under my name on left for some reason(Ive not got patience for computers). Always down in the hilux. Theres a silver uk spec that kicks about down there so its probably that one you've seen. Im based in the Mearns. What does that place charge per hour? Its probably worth a try goin there. Find out first of all if he thinks he could do it then let him spend an hour or two at it and if he cant figure it out then nothin lost. Cheers Geo Dave
  20. Cheers Geo Im down in Troon alot so Irvine saves alot of travelling. Ive never heard of his place. Is it a proper garage with all the equipment needed to do fuelling and not some backstreet lockup with just the basics
  21. Yeah it would be a good purchase to monitor fuelling after the problem is fixed but the current issues causing the problem are still there so id still have to "find" a garage that can solve them which is the main problem. Ill keep my fingers crossed that somone can either highly recommend AVA or somewhere else in Scotland or itll be a trip to Whifbitz,Envy......... dependent on who people recommend
  22. Full system with 1st cat removed, Induction kit , Walbro pump, FCD. Thats all so nothin major. Was told fuelling should be safe if i reduced it back to 1.0bar so currently has a 1.0bar restrictor ring in place but for all i know it could still be lean back at 1.0bar
  23. No dont have an AFR. Its a costly bit of kit so not for me. The car had been checked on wideband at "the garage" in wishaw. They had said it needed a fuel pressure regulator but supras runnin at 1.2bar with a walbro shouldnt be anywhere near lean and dont need an fpr so obviously they didnt have a clue as per most supposed jap specialist garages
  24. Car "still" has fuelling problems running lean at high revs on 1.2bar. No garages in Glasgow seem to have a clue what their doing with supras. At a last resort before having to take the car down south i was thinking of taking car to AVA next to Glasgow airport. Has anyone on here taken their supra to AVA and did they know what they were doing? Cheers Dave
  25. Yeah they come with instructions but for the previous parts iv fitted iv found the instruction threads on here with pictures far easier to follow than some daft wee instruction book that makes no sense and leads to anger management and a large hammer gettin involved
