    Track car?

Even though my F27 is not a full on race car it is designed for track use and buying the F27 was one of the best things i did. Cheap to run, easy to repair, easy to trailer (only weighs 470kg), plus loads of available spare parts. Like different diff ratio's etc for which ever track you are racing on. Im sure the passengers at the weekend who got a ride will agree that something like this is just in a different league in the corners and goes damn well on the straights as well. Think it was only the supra's that beat it in a striaght line. Might be a different story when i have the turbo on though Ryan
  2. Nice ecu Ethernet is quite common now Gav on new ecu's, no need for Can to Usb convertors anymore. If the fault dropping could be resolved for packet loss then wireless control could be done also p.s where are these pinouts??
  3. Just got back from Luton now as have been Mapping in NI today @ AI Motorsport. Long old day but go over around once a month at mo Ryan
  4. Bet the Missus was not happy when she had to wash this jacket
  5. I was Damn Impressed! Never thought a whale could go round a corner like you made it Wes. Great Setup Chris I have the track Bug again now mate so gunna start booking up some track days for once a month and get my car fully sorted. Ryan
  6. Was very impressed with your quick thinking your when your brakes failed John. Not only did you stop the car on the spot but avoided any danger to others.
  7. Lesson never to buy 2nd hand clutches John when you get time send us a copy or post on here our fun in the F27
  8. Just got back, what another day! After Tony, wes and I fitted him a new radiator onto wes's after going all the way back to oxford he was back in action and Damn can that thing go round a corner. Then the clouds headed in and as the kit car had some fun in the morning we decided to call it a day and head home....... Then i got a call for Wes saying "Pitcrew please turn round" We arrived back at the gate to see that the nice humps on the entrace to marham has ripped his entire exhaust off back from the down pipe We had a go at refitting but the metal was too mashed to rejoined so it was an AA job Poor old Tony was underneith cars nearly all weekend. But made the club proud by fixing all the problems except Wes's exhaust. If we had a welder im sure he would have though The front of the mine was chipped as well but for the fun i had i couldn't care if it needed a full respray. Ryan
  9. Arhh Marcs Mr2 is rapid, Finished mapping it on thursday night and didn't have anything past it all day.
  10. What a day !! Had its up and down but blimey the supra's were not giving a reliable front. Couple lost all brakes, Wes Lost a Rad, powersteering fluid boiling over on the straight and best of all someone snapping there gearstick. I wont mention any names but i will leave you with this pic. A 1/4 inch drive makes a nice new shifter Tony, Wes and I are now back in Oxford sorting a new Rad but will be back in action tomorrow Ryan
  11. Is this where people are staying saturday night?
  12. Depends how much bling you want I wouldn't bother if you are just going to feed back into the stock return line
  13. Wait till Marham mate and i will plug in the laptop and tell you exactly what you are boosting too. Does your boost controller auto correct for temp changes Ryan
  14. Ok it sound like all the injectors have a 12v feed going to them so i would suggest checking the 6 injector feeds which go back to the ECU to tell them to open. If one of them is grounding out somewhere then it will be opening that injector 100%. Do a continuety test back from each injector plug to the ecu and it should not have any resistance. If that is fine, Check your Fuel pressure and that the injectors are actually low impendance.
  15. Thats condensation in the exhaust I will speak to you next Thursday about the Idle control valve mate as have found a cool little trick for cars with out them.
  16. The overrun on your car only cuts the fuel above 3000rpm to keep the round the town driving smoother so when you lift off under 3000rpm it will be abit richer like 12:1 but nothing to produce any smoke. Does sound to me like stem oil seals, As when you drive around off boost etc the engine is under vacuum most of the time and when under vacuum it sucks down the oil into the combustion camber. Will be more noticable when cold and would also explain why when the first time you boot it you see the smoke. A good test would be to cruise up to say 70mph in 3rd and then lift off off the throttle until the revs drop to 3.5k then put your foot down about 75% throttle and see if it smokes. Ryan
  17. Sounds like in that 2nd gear pull it was hitting the boost cut limit if the guage is reading 1.66, But i dont know what TDI set as the boost limit but this is what it sounds like. Was it missing? You want to junk the ext boost controller mate and get it setup through the Aem, then if it overboosts it corrects it self . Plus you can limit the boost in the lower gears. Plus a boost solenoid is only £40 and you can then sell the controller for alot more
  18. What do you class as Market leading. Pectal, Life Racing, Motec? Tbh As good as i rate Motec i probably wouldn't actually ever run one on a supra if i owned one due to the cost of getting stuff unlocked etc and that it has no knock control ability which i highly rate with the AEM. The AEM used to be IMO Crap due to the old firmware it ran but the new stuff is very reliable now and i have only had a few niggles with them. I have a very special Ecu which i will be testing soon which bang for buck cant be beaten. I will be trying on a special supra soon and will report on the results. Auto control, knock control, FBW, VVTI, Pitlane limiters, 10 IGN outputs, 10INJ outputs and lots more Ryan
  19. The stock Supra ones listen to around 5-7hz so you can adjust the voltage levels vs knock table on the AEM to when knock occurs for a specific engine.
  20. We couldn't get a power figure for above 1.2bar on the dyno due to traction issues but i would expect it to be around 750bhp. Based on the injector duty and lower boost results. Plus the turbo only really starts to get going at 1.4bar+ Due to Michel compression ratio i recon 1.8-2.00 bar of boost could be ran on 99ron
  21. The Aem doesn't support FBW Alex, but the Knock control they have more than makes up for it when setup right. Damn its faster than my ears sometimes when testing. Ryan
  22. As Marham is only a Few days away i would recommend to all to make sure that all Fluids are in good condition and topped up. With the long straight also at Marham i would suggest making sure also that the correct engine oil is used which can take higher oil temps. Make sure that all vacuum hoses that go to the Fuel pressure regulator and map sensors are securely tie wrapped as have seen many times these pop off at events and destroy an engine. Last but not least check all the Suspension for play as well as wheel bearings as i have just found the 2 rear ones on my kitcar have gone and need replacing this week. Ryan
