  1. Saw this same problem last night on a EMU. It is very worrying how unstable it is. Also where in oxford are you. Im in Woodstock Ryan
  2. Traders name your prices on the Rad's Anyone got any boost controllers for sale? Ryan
  3. The dongle looks like a copy and i expect will only work on that Fcon or other fcon's running the same firmware. When you become a HKS power writer you gain access to the files to update the dongle for new firmware upgrades etc. Also using a copy of the software and dongle will most likely net you in abit of trouble with HKS if you are not careful. They are very selective to who gets the software Ryan
  4. Should defiantly work by just turning on the ignition, disabling alarm and then bridging those pins. If the fuel pump connector in the boot connected? Also check to see if there is 12v at the B+ Pin. If not then the main relay is not opening Ryan
  5. Yh it will hold that fine as long as the tyres are not crap
  6. You will need to buy a Push to Make button like one of these http://buy.maplin.co.uk/Free_UK_Delivery/Push_to_Make_Switch_34858_v2.htm Then wire one of the legs to the Orange wire from the AVCR harness and the other leg to the black wire (this wire you need to splice into i.e T in ) Then to setup go into the boost mode you want it to be used in either A or B and then select scramble. If you want to take the boost up to say 1.6bar from 1.4bar at the push of a button then the settings i would use would be BS: +0.20 DT: +3% (set this carefully and make sure the fuel cut on the aem is set correctly and not left at like 2bar) TM: = However long you want it to last Enjoy Ryan
  7. Might need a power run at SRR to see if it's all good The missus might want this so i will ask her mate
  8. *Goes off to look for a cheap 6sp to slap these on*
  9. Ok that what i thought you wanted. I wouldn't run it for a whole lap but use the button for say overtaking. Like the new KERS system in F1 http://gas2.org/2008/04/22/formula-1-racing-to-go-hybrid-from-2009-2013/
  10. I will be able to help you out chap but you will need to speak to Homer about organising some more time on the dyno for say all the FPR and boost to be setup. Ryan
  11. The turbo wont be on the F27 for this but im still going to run it to get a figure before. Ryan
  12. Can i ask first Ben why you want to do this? Surely if you can have that extra power for one lap you might as well run it for the whole race. Ryan
  13. Yup have a read here mate on Abnormal combustion and Pre-ignition http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine_knocking
  14. 10's on boost at over 5k do not cause bore wash but if it is running say 10's on cruise and idle when its warm then it will over time. The stock setup runs 10's on boost just the keep the cylinder temps down as with the cats in place the cylinder temps will get very hot on boost. Pretty much all forced induction stock setups run 10:1 on boost at the high RPM. Damn Vauxhalls run low 9's after 6k on some of their models Ryan
  15. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1910484&postcount=11 As the car was running 1.2bar before mapping the car will be down on torque now as the boost pressure is alot lower for safety. When I increased the boost it did make more Torque, as the peak on your setup is made when the car comes on boost hence that pinned in the seat feeling. At this point when it came on boost the Egt's are not an issue but as the RPM increases on high boost the Temps got too hot hence why the boost was lowered. Get the RR opened up, triple check for no boost leaks ie. by pressurising the system and then bring it over to SRR one evening Rome was not built in a day mate
  16. This is the best i have got out of Stock twins but im not one for chasing numbers so TBH there could be another 10-15bhp by squeezing in a few more degrees but i felt this was enough in regards of EGT's and boost level http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=142230&highlight=nice+curves
  17. Pretty much have everything to fit the turbo now mate but will most likely fit it in a couple of monthes time as really want to get used to the cornering without another 80bhp on top Ryan
  18. Will do mate, Going to track it abit as it is at present to get used to the car and then get the turbo on. Will be fitting and mapping the emerald first though.
  19. Two weeks ago I had an MOT on the Formula 27 kit car I own. During the test it became apparent that both the rear wheels had some play in them. At this stage I thought that both the bearings had gone due to the previous owner using some nice universal spacers that were not hub centric…. I ordered up some bearings and the night before Marham Tony and I replaced both of them to get the car ready for the weekend. But… After replacing both the bearings and fitting some hub centric spacers the play was still there….. I then decided to ring a friend of mine who deals with the old English axles a lot to ask if it was normal for them to have some slight play. He responded that they do have abit so I decided as the car has been like it since I owned it that we would just have to see how it went at Marham. The whole weekend went fine but I still wanted to find out why it has some play so decided to take the diff out and see if the bearings in there were screwed. So yesterday I had the day off and after an hour it finally was out. This is what I found Looks like the pinion has been hitting the LSD casing And that those LSD plates and covers should be one piece Looking forward now to get the spare diff i have in and see how it handles now One good bit of news though is i got the Turbo manifold back from the fabricators
  20. Lovely Car Mate. The exhaust system is definatly the issue. As with more boost the car was alot more limited to ignition timing meaning that the cylinder temps were getting hot causing instantaneous explosives. Due to this, the timing was alot less in the higher boost area's which will cause no gain in power. I knew the restrictor ring would be an issue straight away though as in TTC mode with no duty on the solenoid it only hit 10psi. If it was my car i would keep your exhaust but open the RR up abit. Ryan
  21. No worries Si Last thing i would have wanted is for the car to set on fire and put your life in danger. Would do it for anyone
  22. Are you sure though Gaz as we are talking here about TF. Would also explain why it made very little power when DT mapped it. Ryan
  23. Wasn't the turbo that gaz running damaged though on the exhaust side. As that will be why it ran alright on his .....but with a new turbine wheel on the new turbo is will be alot more efficient and probably the reason why its creeping. Ryan
  24. Im 98% sure they are apexi. Seen them a few times on imported cars i have mapped. The new versions of them are very similar in shape but they moved the Top port right to the top of the can to reduce issues with boost spiking which was common on the old design. But i must say the blitz's are very similar http://www.ooparts-international.co.jp/index/car/listbybrand/blitz/wastegate/index.html Ryan
