  1. This is why i keep telling people to put the sensor in the manifold if its possiable. The first restriction in the exhaust system on a single is the turbo. When all the gases merged together into the turbo and hit the turbine side, the temperatures rise a fair bit which keeps the flow good through the turbine wheel. Tested this a while back as a customers car was seeing pretty high egts when his sensor was placed in the exhaust housing so moved to 6" from the exhaust port and it was 80c lower. Cant see how anyone can guess how much the temps will drop in the downpipe though as different sized housings, exhaust systems and pipe diameter will change everything. Ryan
  2. The solenoid will make a ticking sound based on duty but if you have fitted it with the supplied rubber base then you shouldn't hear it.
  3. Chocolate tea pot springs to mind p.s you finished with that com link chap?
  4. Or..... Just Set of PE 650cc injectors - cleaned and flow tested Walbro fuel pump For the power you want dont waste money on aftermarket rails, FPR and lines which are just not as reliable as the stock toyota, denso and bosch parts. Ryan
  5. Charlie mentioned that to me last night. Can just imagine telling him to lift off but about 15 seconds too late
  6. You bling boys dont realise why toyota made the surface not smooth
  7. Loads more to come steve Intake temps of 55c dont help either as the amount of timing it was pulling was holding torque and power back also. Great car and enjoy. 600bhp will be next
  8. Glad my Maths lesson's came in handy Tony....
  9. Good man! p.s the vid files from wednesday are 250mb matey how do i get them down to 100mb so i can upload of photobucket Ryan

  12. I will get some of the Vids and pics up soon Charlie. No touching you last night on the straights. When Wes over took an Elise on priory corner i was pissing myself. Goes to show that a bone stock supra with abit of talent behind the wheel can do good on the track. Ryan
  13. Im on the case of finding my rain clothes. I remember years ago go karting in the rain and was one of the best days i can remeber so im tempted to run the dry tyres tonight

  17. Happy Birthday Kev! How you getting on with the Run-in?
  18. If the Battery is disconnected the AEM loses its “hold Power” settings from where the idle stepper motor is positioned in its step sequence. When the battery is re-connected again and the key is turned to IGN. The AEM does a full sweep on the step Sequence to find where the Park Position is. I have seen it on a couple of occasions get confused where to park and it leaves the valve open. Then when you turn the key off and it does another “key off Reset” it sorts it self out. A lot of the time when it does the full step sweep the valve gets stuck which actually causes it to lose sync. The idle control on the AEM is closed loop so it should sort it self out but look at the idle learn value it should be between -3 and +3.. If you still have a problem Si then give me a ring when your connected and I will talk you through some tests. Ryan

    Blackwidow Supra

Just to expand on this, the car from the off was developing quite low power compared to other setup like this which i have done. The fueling etc was spot on but the engine would just not take any timing.. As something was not right i decide to leave it at 1.1bar and investigate further. My view was it was a crap batch of fuel or 95ron was in the car. Needless to say its not the first time i have seen crap fuel from tesco and is why i always recommend to stay with vpower. Mind you its not the first time I have had a customer accidentally fill up with normal unleaded or diesel I then checked the breather system to make sure that no excess oil containmation was entering the engine as this lowers the octane level of the mixture and it was fine. Then while the car was idling I noticed it sounded not as silky as a 2jzgte normal does, epically through the cans. I initially thought it might have jumped a tooth on the cam timing but this was. So decided to start looking at the coil pack connectors and sparks. While doing this compression checking the engine to make sure if was healthy. All were around 150-160psi with in an 8psi tolerance. While the sparks were out i noticed that the number 6 spark was not burning 100%. As i carry spare plugs i thought i would swap out this one and see how it sounded.... Instantly the car was smoother and felt alot more responsive so i road checked it with the Cans and felt it was best to call it a day. I dont like rushing things and did not want to be putting the car back on the dyno to try and get the best from it the night before Le Mans. Have a nice trip Imi and see you when you get back Ryan
  20. No friends but a few Mates
