Yeah, the Missus is not happy about the late nights but having a few friends who work in the industry, and good with tools helps get things done properly and quickly Yes the driving aids will need to move back as well which i want anyway for the weight bias. The raised part of the floor behind the seat will be coming out anyway as most of the floor so will be able to mount the seat back further espically the passenger one. Will also be going for a Auto LSD diff for the better suited track ratio's. Would love to do the skyline diff but it wont take the torque im sure and they are not easy to get hold either if i break a few Ryan

Thanks Dean Ideally i was wanting to go for T67DBB with stock cams as i really think this is the perfect setup and Jamie has proven this at suprapod, llandrow and in a few other races But i have not done a GT35R on stock cams in a manual yet and im really interested to see it would do at say 1.5bar. I would only expect around 500bhp but i expect with the stock cam profile setup it would make an awesome torque curve which in a light car would be If this doesn't provide what i am after i will get a T67dbb Ryan

Update! Right! the car got moved over to Autotec on Thursday and after finishing my mapping jobs I decided to start taking the engine out with Steve. Must say first of all how grateful I am for him helping me and providing a lift I could use to make removing the engine a lot easier. Spent about 2 hours removing all the parts I needed to remove and left it at that until Saturday.. Saturday came around and Steve, Tony and I cracked on with getting the gearbox and engine out…. 3 hours later Damn the 2jzgte is flipping heavy as stock! So the engine was out and as I had the author of the legendary Stock twin removal guide I knew it wasn’t going to take long. 50 Mins later they were off! As I had been driving the car around for a while I felt that there was an issue with the first turbo and bet again that the turbo was fooked. At first it looked like I was wrong until Tony noticed this…. The final job of the day was to get the leak down tester out again and have a proper listen where the leak was. As we first thought the head has a sticky valve and also one of the valves is not sealing 100% as we got about 20% out of the exhaust. Next job is to remove the head and get Swindow race engines to port match both the new exhaust manifold and the intake manifold as well as work there magic on the Head. At present I cant decide if I want to use a pair of cams as have a GT3582R turbo and think I might want abit more grunt after 5k but need to look at the compressor map abit more in detail. Now the engine is out though the fun can begin with the weight removal. Also we are looking at moving the engine back about a 6-10 inches as there is loads of room now the dash is removed. P.s weighed the Stock twins and all the grubbings that went with them at 44kg, stock flywheel was also 14kg

Sounds interesting. Will look into the plans on the diff and pinouts to see what is fully needed and if it could be made to work with the Solaris Ryan

Thanks for all the comments guys Although i think it might be better to take the car to Dave@Motec. Reason being is that i dont have any space at present where i can work on the car and with what you have described it sounds like it could take a day or two to fix. But if you dont have any luck with Dave you could take the car to a garage that i map for near you and then it could be stored safely and i could work on it that way. Sorry Rich i just havn't go the drive to weigh all the bits when they come off matey as you would be surprised how many bits come off to just get the dash out. I feel it would double the time and im abit more excited to see actually what the weight is when everything is done. Update for today is managed to get a couple of hours on the car today and ripped all the heater box out etc. Tomorrow the seats will be arriving and as soon as i get them i will be taking the car over to Autotec where the fun really starts Ryan

Dont worry it has been on SRR in its Old setup and it will be going on exactly the same dyno and dyno settings but just the location where it is place is further up north so the Baro and airtemp correction will be different Seeing as the VVTI was doing nothing before as we unplugged it to test i can certainly see there being a massive difference in the car with the solaris setup. Probably just jinxed it now though

Just to say also first that it is not only myself working on this Solaris Install for the VVTI supra's. I luckily have the chief technician at Solaris working with myself and a good job too as this guy has to be the most inteligent guy i have ever met. As Steve has said the S6 is now running the Engine and the VVTI in closed loop perfectly. We spent most of monday night playing with the DBW motor setup to understand fully how the ETCS-i DBW fully works. But we hit a problem when one of the pedal position sensors on Steve's car was faulty. All the sensors etc are also in place for the Traction control and Knock control to be activated after its fully mapped. Will update more when im back working on the car sometime next week. here some pics i took of us testing the DBW unit Ryan

Arhh Ok, Good to hear. I went on what Dean said about mapping as Jamie pointed out. But it must get annoying for you and the customer when you book a car for mapping and cant do to weather... But while on the subject, Do you not like dyno mapping Paul? I know Road mapping can be Fun but dyno mapping will always produce better results. Having the ability to see tractive effort and torque after changes shows you how the engine is responding to different injection timing, cam timing, IGN and Fueling changes. I always aim to use a dyno when mapping every day and just use the road for improving driveability and checking for changes on the tarmac. Ryan
-
Do you have a Non-Standard Rad Cap?
-
Road mapping a customers car in this weather . With all the grit on the road and the conditions of the roads this time of year i honestly think its mad and abit shocked Dean is happy with it TBH. Dyno costs are roughly about £70 an hour in the south and you would use that amount in the extra fuel needed and other parts like brake pads, tyres etc when road mapping. Ryan

Hi Gaz Carbon seats are about 3kg lighter than the monaco's and for the difference in price i would rather spend it on something that is more costly if you get me.. Same with carbon doors really, I will be stripping the doors right back to the first skin with lexan windows which i feel will be pretty close to what the carbon doors will be. I want to get as much weight out of the car as possiable as it is and then will be looking at seam welding the car and going for a small lite cage. Gledo has years of experience in the bodywork trade so knows where weight can be removed Ryan
-
Hey Charles With regards unsprung weight, the car already has a nice set of lightweight 17" wheels but not 100% sure on the suspension setup i will be using yet. Brakes i will keep as jspec with carbotech or CW pads if i get the weight down to what i want as they will be more than enough then. Ryan

LeLexan doesn't change form to around 90c and starts melting around 200c. I can’t see direct sunlight replicating these temperatures. ... not in the UK at least

Ideally end of next week Rob

The Standard size is 4mm but you can have 5mm i believe for an extra £15. Will be looking to get them ordered as soon as we have enough interest. Ryan

Best to ask any questions in this thread chap as saves the same questions coming up again..
