  1. Was very impressed with the hybrid setup would certainly give the smaller singles a run for there money Ryan.
  2. Thought i would reply to marks questions on here as makes life easier for others also. There are 2 ways of doing it mark I can either come to you and fit which take 5 mins due to the plug and play harness I make. Then it would be a case of mapping on the road and arranging to meet in the future to tweak on the dyno OR I can send you a link ecu with a base map on it with harness for your injector size and spec and then get you to drive down to me. We would then map 75% on the road and do the high speed stuff plus finish the ignition timing on my preferred local dyno (SRR) See above The road is in my opinion the best place to do most of the work as that is where the car is used all the time not on a dyno so all the variables such as airflow, load etc will always be the same it is also easier to get the car driving like stock on the road. Don’t get me wrong if the engine was out then an engine dyno would be the BEST place but it costs A LOT of money and not really worth it on a street car which costs around 10k. The dyno though is always the best place to finish a map off with regards ignition timing as you can find MBT or as near to it as possible with the engine, this is very hard to do so on the road. The good thing about turbo engines is they are normally knock restricted meaning it will never actually reach MBT due to the fuel being broke down way before and the only way to get to it would be with higher octane fuel or a proper designed engine but it is still deffo worth doing on a supra to make sure high speed stuff is fine and that there is not un needed ignition timing in place. I don’t want to cause a big argument on here but at the end of the day the Toyota ecu is a damn clever piece of kit and does its job as standard very well but when you start adding pieces of hardware that are fooling it and maybe putting it in a state which the Toyota engineers didn’t design it to deal with, its a dangerous state of ground. Many people have got them to work very well and I feel ianc is very familiar now with how the standard ecu re acts with this fooling which is good thing for BPU owners, Trust me !!!! never used a map ecu so cant comment The americans 700bhp normally is around 400bhp in uk though with a decent dyno Ryan
  3. Sounds to me like someone is trying to sell you a map ecu
  4. One thing gary is make sure you use a brake spanner removing the nuts as most normal spanners will just slip and then your in trouble. Brake Spanner http://homepage.ntlworld.com/phil.wormald/images/MVC-901E_.JPG
  5. Apexi AVCR with solenoid, map sensor and all wiring in good condition works like a dream but now using the ecu to control boost. Pm me if interested Ryan.
  6. Still havn't got round to looking at it on a auto yet but will get some time soon as its getting colder
  7. Hi Mark Unfortunately the powerfc is no longer made and very hard to get hold of. Also you are right that the powerfc is made for the jspec community meaning that is it built to run on a Map sensor based system so won’t work on a UK. (Could be made to easy though if you do come across one) The link ecu's come in 2 formats, Link g3 Lem and Link g3 Plus The link g3 Lem is the cheaper model and can be brought from Thor who is the UK distributor for around £520. With this Ecu you would have to run a wasted spark setup and grouped injection. It works fine on the supra and I have used one on mine up to 1.2bar with no problems with miss firing meaning that a dli is not needed but there is a slight problem with the acceleration enrichment side of the LEM ecu when running on a supra and I have got link fixing this at present with the plus this is not a problem. But if I was going to fit a standalone ecu to a supra it would be either a link g3 plus or a Motec m600. The link g3 plus is on par with the Motec m800 and I feel it’s the way to go with any big power cars I am now asked to map and suggest ecu. It runs fully sequetial injection and coil on plug producing a more efficient engine, better mpg, more responsive and no problems what so ever with injection break down at stupid boost levels. Any link g3 ecu can also control boost and very well so you could sell your current controller and then its just £35 for a link boost solenoid and then either a volume knob on dash to control boost or I can set a switch for high and low mode . I have actually made some plug and play looms for these ecu’s on the supra now The ecu’s can control air con, water injection, intercooler sprays, Warning lights, shift lights, Antilag, Launch control, flat shifting and the list goes on but on the link g3 Lem you are limited to how many of the above you can run with the plus you could have switches everywhere for what ever you like Another good thing about going with the link ecu is that they come with their own map sensors so you can then convert your UK spec maf setup to a Map based setup which is the way to go. Bye bye MAF HTH Look here for more details http://www.linkecu.com/products/engine-management/Wire-In/wire-in-home also what about this http://www.linkecu.com/products/productspageimages/displaylink806image.jpg see here http://www.linkecu.com/products/TuningTools/DisplayLink Ryan
  8. Just to add to this i made a custom airbox using standard box and filter to do some testing and never found it to be a problem with restictions. In fact i made 503bhp @ SRR with it in place when i was running lower boost. Here is a pic of what it was like
  9. For me it would be between a dastek or DD dyno both have pro's and con's The one thing i would use though is the Cooling fan that dastek make. Dastek is quite abit cheaper also matt and you dont have to worry about getting it imported. I wouldn't go for a Dynapack myself due to the hassle of having to remove the damn wheels everytime and you always find one fool who forgot to bring his locking wheel nut remover. Ryan
  10. Were getting there bud, still some to go yet. Roll on 20psi
  11. Cracking setup this car, Pulls sooo hard. I found i could get some more timing in on the dyno anyway but then relised just how much i could get in with the methanol on. Its a 50/50 setup so water really helps the cooling too was seeing 33c inlet temps on dyno Charlie wanted me to run more boost but 1.4bar is enough for today. With regards to pump failing i pulled 3 degrees of the top end again just to play it safe incase the pump did fail but will be sending the meth map to charlie when he has hooked up his pump monitor system
  12. Who's hannah If i get them mate i will bring them round and say to her they are the new ones then just hide others
  13. Im trying to get tony to fit to his but my brother has a n/a supra and want to get one up and running on that first. Thats if there still available
  14. Hey mate Ive got one from Aegean, was brought at ideal home exhibition from Aegean themselves. Love it If you do get one from them pm me and say i recommended you as we get some free cleaning products Ryan
  15. Great condition came of my Jspec supra, no dents or missing paint Would have to be collected Pm if interested Here is a pic of the bonnet on car
  16. at 10psi it pulls as well as my gt4088 at 16psi so cant wait to see this at 20psi:)
  17. I think keef pulled the spec list from the car sale site in japan but i would 99% say for sure its not running higher lift cams as the engine chokes up after 6200rpm and i very much doubt that t51 is running out of puff The cam gears were standard also if i remember and they said hks cam gears of the spec on site
  18. Daryl Mr keef was on stock cams and ianc is running 256 and 264 hks cams Ryan Cya tomorrow
  19. Can any of the mods please change andy's/geneb avatar to something like "ill be back" and not have me mentioned on it. Ryan
