Hi All, My head's come off today and Gold Tappet Shims Interesting... Here are some Pics.... I know why now the japanese build there engine's well... Allso i've found out im running 272 intake and exhaust cams and very big valve springs with lots of porting thats been going on... I guess the gold tappet shims are to support what the 272 cams can do to standard shim surfaces when they come in on song?

if you were me, and i had perfect looking stock bolts, would you spend 130.00 on a new set when theres nothing wrong with the stock ones? Im sticking to Stock RPM at the moment

I think this is spiraling out of control..... I have this issue too..this seems to happen after 1.1 bar.... sounds great and very noisey but it does concern me as i don't want to reck my turbo.

Wez's car is probably a good example to work on.. Yes ECU's are different and we can all say MOTEC's are better in some ways than others... IT all depends what you are happy with.. MY AEM does run well but it wasnt a five minute job.. I closely monitor off boost driving, the cruisablity and off boost driving is about spot on now.. and i can get 30 odd to the gallon "off boost" if i take it easy i.e 85 on the motorway with stoich values of around 14.1 to 14.7 on a cycle.. It all depends what you want, Do you want a race car or a fast street car... The same goes down to the choice of turbo and components to support what you want...
