the shim could be trapped somewhere nasty maybe stopping rotation of the cam which would explain its difficulty turning over....any sign of it.......fingers crossed m8

Did sound like it came from top end at the back....need to check if a shim has popped out of one of the cams maybe .....long shot ??

I have a spare stock one you can borrow till you get an aeromotive if it would help....

yes...the suspension top mounts are removed..you lower the whole thing , you also have to undo the engine mounts, the engine being supported from a beam across the inner wings....I think i only had to drop it about 6-8" to get the sump pan off

I had to remove the sump last summer to get the oil pump out.....did it on the car park at work by dropping the crossmember.....so it is poss by a skint non-mechanic....but its not a particularly pleasant job!

Hi..looking for information on adjusting a plate type diff. Just installed a complete diff which has an ATS LSD in it...I was told its set quite tight and aggresive and probably be a bit much for 'road ' use..... i've no experience of what its supposed to be like, can really feel it in operation.... interested to know whats involved in adjusting it a bit looser.....difference in straight line traction is amazing though....changing from an open diff.... thanks Dave S

James ...remember my front crank oil seal failure last July after the Wycombe meet ......I'm sure that my running a breather filter to atmos was a contributing factor.... ps hope to meet up on sat m8 Dave

I wish I'd known about/done the oil pump mod before reassembling the engine and putting it back in the car... pleased with the result overall, still have a shopping list though.....
