  1. I bought them for £150 and drove to pick them up, so £150 less delivery seems fair enough. TBH I am just trying to raise as much cash as possible, as it looks like I need a new engine.
  2. As I now appear to be looking for a new engine my plans to upgrade to UK brakes has been killed! Therefore my rear Calipers with pads (Sorry - don't know which make) are up for sale to raise some cash. They are in good working order. Pics to follow soon. I can post them if required, but it will be expensive.
  3. I am looking for a UK spec rear fog light switch (with multiplug) to replace my importer stuck on one. I am also looking for a secondhand set of chrome dial surrounds if anyone has any? Cheers, Mac
  4. Never mind fuel consumption - what about gearbox consumption? Was quite keen on a late model GTO until I started reading up on how much tends to go wrong, especially when you mod them!
  5. See if you can get hold of no1boyracer's abused Supra. If ever a car needed a bit of sympathetic tlc that's the one!
  6. There are a few relays that you will need to source. This Pdf should help id them. Please post an update if you get this working as I plan to do the same in the future too. Mac CRUISE_CONTROL_SYSTEM.pdf
  7. Hi, After upgrading to 17'' stock Alloys my old J-Spec 16''s are up for sale. They are in average condition with quite a lot of cosmetic kerbing and would need balancing before use. They would come with all wheel nuts and centre-caps. They are fitted with Continental Sport Contact tyres all round. The rears are not road legal, but the fronts aren't too bad (3mm approx). It would be better if the buyer could collect, but if you want them posted then I can find out the costs.
  8. Cheers guys - I'll have a look when it stops pissing it down!
  9. She's just as explosive when she wants to be and she's got a much better aim than most of that lot!!
  10. The old lady who lives next door to the garage I got it towed to many months ago with a blown HG said the same - 'why did you get a Silver one? they're so unfashionable now!' as it was wheeled in! My thoughts at the time were 'why don't you just kick me in the boll*cks while you're at it love!!'
  11. I think any re-spray will have to wait. I've just been threatened with divorce if I spend any more money on the car. Don't quite know how to tell her i'd just got some dash panels and UK front brakes last night already. Current thoughts are to get them delivered to my local garage and hide them there for now.
  12. Well I finally got back from the delights of Basra to find that my wife had unpacked my re-furbed H/L. I was disappointed and thought they looked just as cloudy as when I sent them in.... Until I looked a bit closer, wiped off a month's worth of dust and thought WOW! Today I managed to find the time to fit them and I am impressed. They look even better in the flesh. I think the before/after pics speak volumes. Thanks Jon - top-notch work!
  13. Hi, As per title really. I was accelerating down a slip-road today and there was a quick high-pitched hissing noise just as the engine went through 4000 revs. It happens every time when revving past that precise engine speed. It also does it when stationary too. No other signs or symptoms. I'm slightly concerned, but I'm hoping its a hose or pipe leak? If so any thoughts as to how to narrow it down? Thanks in advance.

    Damn...

I had the same happen to me a while back, so feel for you! It's not the best feeling when you wreck your car doing the right thing. The alloys might be salvageable. I'm sure dents like that can be mended?

    Why me?!?

Don't tell me the ignorant sod drove off then? If so then that would have me stalking the streets for hours looking for a car with rear end damage. Feel for you bud!
  16. If it was a standard Gatso (which it sounds like if the flash dazzled you) then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Safety Camera Partnerships (or whatever they're called now) cannot use cameras that flash directly into the driver's face, due to the distraction possibly causing an accident. Any evidence presented from a camera that did this would be inadmissable, because it was gathered illegally. Truvelo flashes don't cause disorientation because they don't blind the driver, so they are ok. I had a similar incident with a Gatso (33-35 in a 30) that flashed me from the front and the above info is what I dug up from a variety of places.
  17. Either July or August should be ok for me. Will be able to do more of a diary check when I get home in 2 weeks time though.
  18. Very interested too and can even pacify the wife with the thought of shopping in Cambridge!! Will wait and see what dates come up, but the end of July would be better for me.

    Quick question

Unless your car has a 'one-off carbon-fibre' bodykit and an external dump-valve of course.
  20. Yes - Outer ring had fallen off completely and was found in the undertray. The belt was still running on what was left and there was no noticeable difference in the way it drove.

    Trashed Enzo!

Fair one. Personally i'd be down the local Jag dealers getting an XKR, or if it was big bucks a Veyron!

    Trashed Enzo!

Probably the same attitude most people have when they see a Supra in bits on the side of the road - 'Oh it's just another Boy Racer...', but our own response is a bit different in those cases. At the end of the day it's still someone's pride and joy. So what if the bloke has money and bought an Enzo? I challenge anyone to do any different if they had the money. I'd be pissed off if some nob in a Bus ran me off the road, regardless of what I was driving. I just don't get this gloating 'He was wealthy so it's ok attitude'
  23. Used items (sold as seen) do not come with any warranty unless the manufacturer's warranty is still valid and transferable, or you offer it with a warranty yourself, which you didn't. If it was fit for purpose when sold, which he has admitted, then you have fulfilled your end of the deal and are not liable for any later breakdown. Your statutory rights give you a few months from purchase in case something breaks when new, but one year later? stroll on!
  24. I'm liking that low OEM a lot! Was it a one-off, or can they be bought?
