  1. So long as it can also carry the power source it would require! (and be simple enought for on the spot repairs and fixes by the operator)
  2. Jap Spec. All the wiring had been returned to stock when I removed the old converter. This was after I'd stripped out the interior as well while the new engine went in. However - I've now solved it. I dug into the wiring and ECU diagrams I have and found that the O/D switch has several speed inputs into the ECU. Luckily I have my old O/D switch, so I reconnected it temporarily and everything was back to normal. Removing the switch and its connector must have interruped the circuit that the limiter relies on, which was a surprise to me, as Toyota usually have redundant feeds in case of wiring faults etc. So, if anyone wants a really quick delimit then they can disconnect the blue connector that rests under the auto gear lever and presto! **Not that I'm genuinely advising anyone to do that, as I don't know what else that signal is used for and it could lead to problems. I am interested to find out if I'm the first one to discover this - although I doubt it very much.**
  3. I recently installed a speedm8 speedo converter from here: http://www.ncs-systems.com/speedm8/index.php?action=show&man_id=13&model_id=256 It appeared to use all the same connections as the TRL unit and works fine. Due to it being wired in correctly, unlike the previous importer fitted cheapo unit, my active spoiler and progressive power steering now work as well. According to the manufacturer of this unit I need a seperate unit to delimit, which is currently sitting on my shelf. The only problem is during a test run this morning (Runway) I reached 128 GPS speed, 135-140 indicated, with no limiter cut-in? Another run confirmed this as well. The only thing that's in any way different from the norm is that my O/D button is currently not installed (waiting for a replacement), but I cannot see how that would affect limiter operation. While this could be a good thing I am still concerned because this should not be happening and I don't know if whatever's causing it might be having an effect elsewhere too. Can anyone think of any reasons why?
  4. and then these two groups tend to collide with each other and block the road for everyone else!
  5. Especially as I'd be quite happy to do it here for free. Plus it adds realism to the moving target range, leading to better combat effectiveness! 'Chavs will fall when hit... Targets to your front... Carry on!'
  6. If you mean the orange blobs then I've got a set which should have the bulbs in them too. I think they've got most of the nuts as well, but they're easy to get down B&Q if necessary anyway. Personally, however, I'd go with facelift ones as Nic's suggested, but if you want them then PM me.
  7. Yes, but it looks faded - is it the underside showing in the photo though? If it is and the top side is in good nick then I might be interested. PM me.
  8. Bu**er - not received PM. Oh well!
  9. Valid Question: Your response: If you want to start a debate then don't be surprised if people ask questions, or make observations. You made a comment that indicated you hog the overtaking lanes if you're going at 'the speed limit', not '90', or '120'. Don't then throw your teddies out of your pram just because some people made that point more openly than others - just answer the questions asked and move on. Instead we get a more abusive tone and insults: No you weren't that specific, but hogging either lane is wrong and you still haven't said you won't remain in these lanes if you're doing the speed limit. Yes they have and if you'd made that point initially, rather than starting to get insulting then this would've moved on.
  10. Is this still up for sale? I'll take it if it is.
  11. If he is then he hasn't read it. Putting the points made about speeding aside anyone who thinks that it doesn't matter which lane they drive in if they are at the speed limit anyway is not as knowledgeable a driver as they think they are.

    Train drivers

If the barriers were down then she'd probably walked around them, using the Non-Pedestrian part of the crossing to get through, whereupon her foot got stuck. I know it's someone's life and all that, but I feel absolutely no sympathy for the brainless, irresponsible person who got killed. Instead I feel massive sympathy for her family, the driver and the two men who tried to save her. It's not nice, or pretty, seeing someone killed in front of you and it's even worse when it's purely down to their own stupidity and could have easily been avoided. Evolution in progress I suppose.
  13. Ok - will wait for photos - my phone isn't too modern . I'm interested, but would have to wait until end of month when I get paid, so will see if it's still up for sale then.
  14. Yes - the other one's been put together by a bodyshop near Exeter IIRC.
  15. What's wrong with it is the fact he's running massive spacers (10-15cm IIRC... Anyone? ) to stop his wheels being hidden by the bodykit. Just think of all the extra stresses his suspension is under because of him extending the wheels like that (most spacers are only a couple of cm). Normally cars with spacers like that would be towed between shows on trailors, or driven slowly, but NOBR has been spotted running 1/4 mile drags in it. He's lucky his wheels didn't rip off their hubs.
  16. Media Studies Eh? What a surprise... Not!
  17. Cheers Ivan:thumbs: knew it was something like that, but didn't have the time to ferret through the HC.
  18. I'm not disputing you getting done, but that doesn't sound right. The whole point of the constant Amber light is to warn drivers that the light is about to turn red. Drivers who are too close to the crossing to stop safely can proceed through, but those further back who can stop in time must do so and not race the lights. IIRC you can be prosecuted for going through on Amber if it can be shown that you had reasonable time to stop and didn't, but it is not a blanket Amber = prosecution rule, otherwise there's be no point having an Amber in the first place. Any BiB around to clarify this? PS - Bens747 - I don't know the ins and outs regarding them seeing you 'run' a red, but in terms of speeding offences two officers can legally arrest you for 'exceeding the speed limit' using nothing other than their judgement that you were over the limit. Because they cannot gauge your exact speed you would have to be going far enough over the limit to leave them in no reasonable doubt - and no I don't like that either as I don't think they are given any specific speed-distance training? I would think that Epic was pulled allegedly on the same principle - ie both cops thought he went over on red.
  19. Not quite true. With regards to speeding and other traffic offences a single copper cannot do someone unless he has another means of proving it (such as a speed camera). This changes if he has the 'expert' opinion of a collegue to back him up, as the opinion of two Police Officers can be used as evidence. In Epic's case I think his best defence is the distance these Coppers had to look over see him running the light. I'd go back and look at the view from their perspective and see how much of the Junction they could actually observe (and then factor in the fact it was dark). If there is any obscuration, or if you can't see the white line from where they were then he may be in with a chance to cast reasonable doubt on the Officer's allegations.

    Sas

Yes it is - The SFC (Special Forces Communicator) specialisation provides Sigs support to all of UK Special Forces (SAS, SBS and SRR). They have to complete the initial 'Hills' phase of SF selection to continue to their specialist training, which isn't too much fun!
  21. I'd be up for a group buy as second-hand ones tend not to be worth it quality-wise.
  22. You have only committed an offence if your wheels cross the white junction line after the light has turned red. If you have already crossed it and the light turns red then you have not committed an offence. The reason the Highway Code advises you to stop on amber (if it is still practical to do so) is to ensure you don't run the risk of crossing on red.
