  1. as posted in this forum earlier, here's the update... problems: - both "L" and "2" lights stay ON when gear in "L" or "2" position, sometime when shifting through the gears. - "MANU" light stays ON all the time but goes OFF at times. what i've done so far: - checked ATF condition and still reddish in color. - DIY error code diagnosis using paperclip trick, both O/D and CEL flashing constantly which means normal/no error code stored. - removed the MANU switch connector (located under the gear-shift compartment) and turned the ignition to ON but "MANU" light still stays ON. - took it out for a short drive and run through all the gears, it seems ok despite all those weird lights still showing on the dash panel. out of curiosity, could it be: - Neutral Starter Switch problem? - gearbox speed sensor(s) problem? *** it has 2 sensors *** - gearbox solenoid sensor(s) problem? *** it has 2 sensors *** - gearbox temperature sensor problem? so, what could have gone wrong? i'm scared to drive fast now as i got worried the gear may suddenly change to "R" during high-speed cruise in "D" mode - this can severely damage the gearbox otherwise causing death!!! hope to hear from you guys soon, thanks a million!
  2. the part number is 40540-30270... anyone has replaced this part on this auto Supra before?
  3. can i just detach this switch (which is located under the auto shift stick) to disable the MANU feature as i suspect it's causing the L, 2 and MANU lights to stay ON? can i continue driving my Supra with the MANU switch detached/open circuit?
  4. EFI #1 fuse for 5-10 seconds... then plug it back in and start your car... that's about it!
  5. it seems that my auto gearbox "L", "2" and MANU lights staying ON problem has something to do with this switch? anyone care to share their experience? part number required...
  6. i have this same problem now... anyone care to help?
  7. many in the forum have removed the TRAC fuse to remove the speed limiter and disable the annoying traction control but in exchange, this will cause the O/D light to flash and TRC light to stay on all the time.
  8. what i did today... put back the TRAC fuse and the O/D flashing light and TRC light are back to normal now. however, the MANU light is on now and when shifting into R, N, D, 2 or L - both 2 and L lights stay on! what could be the problem now? also notice some kinda air/vacuum noise coming from the undercarriage after putting back the TRAC fuse and when i put the gear into D. is this normal?

  10. guys! HELP HELP HELP! what should i do next? any parts to replace? i'm confused now...
  11. was reading both diagrams and it's about O/D, Park and Neutral speed sensors replacement but mine was "L" and "2" and "D" mode seems to work fine. was wondering if i continue to drive in "D" mode, will it damage my gearbox when both "L" and "2" lit up while cruising/speeding?
  12. oh... so it's located there as i thought it was the one attached to the gearbox... lemme check again tomorrow... thanks bro!
  13. which means whatever we're buying from Toyota nowadays are probably old stocks in FIFO order... oh boy...
  14. where is the selector located? how do i check for error codes? checked the wiring and it's in good condition...
  15. phewww... i really hope Toyota will continue to stock JZA80 parts especially the turbo model as i'm planning to keep the lovely monster for years to come...
  16. just curious as MKIV has ceased production back in 2002 and that will be its' 10th years in few months time...
  17. my biggest nitemare if it suddenly shifts to "R" during "D" mode due to the abnormalities... oh boy...
  18. calling for Supra gurus out there... Chris, Nic, Homer... anyone? HELPPP!
  19. urgent help needed as the "L" and "2" lights problem didn't go away even after resetting the ECU (by removing the EFI #1 fuse for 10-20s) - HELPPP HELPPP HELPPP! i've attached the photo for your reference. wonder if replacing the ATF will fix this weird problem? note: the O/D light is flashing due to TRAC fuse being removed, likewise the TRAC light will stay on too.
  20. don't waste time, get a TT by all means!
