  1. Nik sent me mine - can't remember who shipped it but no duty to pay! Fitted last week, sounds great and it may be psychological but I swear the tt is running smoother now!

    No V Power

No v-power in Oxford either and the garage I go to is always quoted on local radio as the cheapest around! Boo, hiss, my fuel bill has therefore gone up again as I have to fill at another!
  3. Just fitted mine as well and I'd agree with all the tips Ewen gave! I did have to bend the fitting a tiny bit so the bottom catches hooked over the bottom lip of the bumper aperture but it's a quick and minor fix to what was otherwise a ridiculously easy install! BTW the badge will just peel off - didn't even leave any sticky residue. Simple! Before: After: I must also say that Zunsport had brilliant customer service and the quality of the finished grill is fantastic.
  4. The write up says "power currently is close to 400bhp and that has been more than enough for me." Is this realistic from the parts list he's given? Just from owning a tt and reading loads of posts on here from people who have modded their tt's it seems a bit optimistic. This comment alone would make me suspicious about the car but I'm not really an expert. I don't like white cars anyway so it's not for me!!

    17" vs 18"

What was the original question again? I'm thinking about doing the same thing - ditching the 17s for 18s. The OEM wheels I have now are 8.5 wide on the front and 9.5 wide on the rear but most of the aftermarket wheels I've found that I like don't do these widths. Am I right in thinking the handling will suffer if I go to 9 width all round so should I look at 8 on the front and 9 on the back? Or should I try to find 8.5s for the front and 9.5s for the rear just as Toyota intended?
  6. My rear window tint had rippled so badly I couldn't see out of it when it got here from Japan. I took it to Sunguard near Banbury to get it re-done. They said it too ages to get the old stuff off. If you're not sure about getting the old off or are having problems maybe it's the same as the tint I had on and a real pain to remove. I tried to get a bit off before I admitted defeat and took it to the pros! Glad I did after they told me even they struggled! Normally it should just be a case of heating it and peeling off in one. They hadn't had this problem before but did a stunning job getting the old off and the new on. Cost £90 for the rear window. Just had the fronts done last week for £40 each side. May not be the cheapest around but a faultless job.
  7. Yup, it's all about the shoes. Basically if you're wearing a certain type of sole it will build up a static charge which will release when you touch something metal and give you a shock. This could be the car or anything metal like the aforementioned spoon or even a metal banister. I have one pair of shoes that does just that - it's a pain - litterally! Luckily I don't wear them often. An ex-girlfriend used to get so p1$$ed off when she got a shock off the car when she wore certain boots she very nearly kicked the door in frustration. Good job I was driving a Micra at the time! (I was poor and it was a long time ago!) I wouldn't let her near the Supe if I was still with her now!! Geeky explanation over - back to work!
  8. I'm up for a bit of guidance too. '97 TT Stock engine Used daily, year round car, not used on track. Many thanks in advance!
  9. Make up your own mats here http://www.autostyle.co.uk/ You can even load up your own design for motif.

    grill

I take it you mean this bit http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3126/2548736482_1abdf262f9_o.jpg And there's a black bit just under it too (cliped to the bottom of the 'mouth') do you want that bit too? I've only looked very quickly but it seems to have plastic clips holding it in which might get damaged when I take it out. Do you have these clips to install it in yours? I'm going to be super careful when removing it but you never know!
  11. Yup, I'll put a vote in for Meguiars NXT metal polish as well. Just bought some and it polished up my exhaust a treat!!

    grill

I'm waiting for a new grill to be delivered in the next few days at which point I'll be taking the bar out of the middle of the 'mouth' of my facelift. Let me know if you're still looking.
  13. My pack arrived today - many thanks Homer. Your hard work and time is much appreciated!
  14. Nice. Jurgen sorted mine out for me too. Another BIG-UP for JM-Imports from me too!
  15. Check this out (in the crashes section) Unbelievable how many cars got through the water spout before one hit the biggest man hole cover you'll ever see!
  16. Still waiting for my pack too - any ideas on timescales?
  17. I did a qick search and found this site http://www.ukpaints.co.uk/autok_special.php for high temp paints and clear lacquer. I've never used them so can't vouch for service, quality etc but the range of products isn't bad.
  18. http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=28&zenid=ec4e13d31d7f5fdb5743e014e6bb9492 Although I'm quite liking the look of the Passenger noise reducer and 710 cap too!
  19. Celica GT. Stock but I loved it. Glad I've got a supe now though!
  20. I have a small front plate (with small letters/numbers obviously) on my import tt and was told that was ok by Jurgen who did all the importing. I'm sure he'll know the proper rules and regs as he deals with imports all the time. There's always loads of police around here as the Thames Valley HQ and personnel HQ are in my town and the area traffic HQ is about 10 miles up the road but I've never been stopped. (Touching wood as I type!)
  21. One bike easy but I have scratched a bit of the window tint off with a pedal. Now I just cover the whole bike with a bit of black cloth and you can't even see there's anything in there through the tint! I also fit two wakeboards in the back most weekends for me and the other half. Easy fit.
  22. I thought you were s'posed to use 10W-30 in a TT?
  23. Harsh - at least I didn't sign the petition originally!
  24. Touché!! Note to self - check forum posts quicker!
