for sale Rays TE37SL Alloy Wheels, Staggered Fitment, Brand New!!
Scott replied to Richie_k83's topic in Parts for Sale
These are my ultimate wheel as Style has alluded to Not the fitment I'm after though as I don't do the stretched/stanced look. Mine is a widebody and I still don't think they would fit. I doubt these would be allowed on a stock body in the UK also as the fronts would fail the MOT due to protruding out the front. As said, would need better pictures to know for sure. Would be the perfect fit for something like a skyline. -
Sorry if this is teaching you how to suck eggs but this might be helpful, it's fairly brief too and doesn't go into TOO much depth Also

Are you able to save the settings to a flash pen or other? Just thinking that it may be worthwhile going for the bog standard setup without any THX settings or anything. See how it sounds completely flat. If it sounds OK-ish, I'm guessing there would need to be a substantial difference given your description, then just change one thing at a time to see what's happening. If it's still missing mid level bass then I would imagine it being easier to pinpoint. Are you checking the audio with music? I always find it much easier to get settings to my liking using music. Additionally there should be some free videos with various Hz ref outputs to let you hear what you are lacking the most.

Doesn't worry me in the slightest. Most of my addons aren't supported by TVAddons, and are in fact frowned upon. It's just a guy that loved the addon that decided to carry it on once Genesis died. If Exodus had library integration I would use that, but it doesn't and SALTS is a PITA to use with the library.
-
Depends what sort of level of AV geek you are after but I do like my gadgets. Money is the thing that stops me going super geek
-
I wouldn't recommend using SALTS for that functionality to be honest. I only use SALTS for when I'm struggling to find anything on Specto. The Specto integration is exactly as it was in Genesis.... it just works. All the main sources from both places too so works well for me. Exodus I only use for one off things, much the same as SALTS, it's a lot quicker though as there are less sources and less sorting required. Also, I hated trakt. I already have a MySQL database to sort all my watched stuff anyway so it was just a pointless addon I didn't need. It was also a pain getting it to put a tick on the items that I had watched.

Just back from seeing Deadpool with a few of the Scottish members and it was brilliant. Everything that you would expect given the trailers etc so if you don't like the look of it you definitely won't enjoy it. Cheesy lines, in-jokes, breaking the 4th wall kinda stuff. Some great lines in it and right up Ryan Renolds street. Plot is wafer thin but that's already laid out for you in the starting credits. The film is what it is and it makes no bones about it, good old fashioned scoop the brain out entertainment.

If you're there tomorrow I'll have a look. It could be the bearings. However, there will be a proper whining noise if the pump is having to work really hard to get the fluid through the filter/reservoir. It's a common issue and easily replicated by turning the wheel full lock.
-
Given the way the TTs have shot up 8k+. Maybe even knocking on the door of 10k.
-
Fluid level and the little filter can sometimes get clogged up.
-
I understand that bud but some basic checks could have the problem narrowed down in 10 minutes. As Chris said earlier, bridge the pump connections, disconnect the main line from the fuel filter and briefly turn the ignition on while spraying the fuel into a clean container (so that you can pour it back in if you wish). It should gush out big style. That will show no issue with the fuel pump. I would even consider doing it from the other side of the fuel filter so that you can rule it out, blocked filters are fairly rare but it does happen. Checking for spark is fairly straight forward. Pull all the plugs, pull the EFI fuses and make sure you don't have the pump bridged. connect one of the plugs up to one of your coil packs and see if you can get a spark off of an earth (block or body is fine). Just be sure there isn't any fuel or oil spilled around the place Check each coilpack using their individual connection. If they all spark and it's a strong spark then that side of things is fine. Doing these checks SHOULD let you know where the issue lies. If you still can't find fault with the system then I guess it's potentially an injector fault. I've never got that far though as I've always found it to either be the coil packs, the coil pack plugs, the spark plugs or the ignitor. I've never had or dealt with any fuel issues at all. Cam sensors and crank sensor comes into play next, along with the coolant temperature sensor (I had issues with the lower sensor when I first tried to start my car after re-build. It wouldn't start at all and I was scratching my head for ages. I may be wrong but I would have thought they would throw codes?
-
I don't think the pressure in the tank matters that much to be honest, you can run your car quite happily with the fuel cap open so I doubt that's the issue. You need to check for fuel and spark, take it right back to the basics. Is there noone local who can help you out? It really is getting to the point where you need to take it to someone who knows their way around these checks.

I was expecting some sort of sales pitch for a copy of viagra there. I almost feel disappointed. Welcome though.

I would pull the plugs and give them a wee clean with scotch brite or even a bit of emery paper.

Checking out Second Chance as the Wife now wants to watch Suits with me The first episode may send you through a bit of a loop as it pretty much makes everything you are watching pointless
-
Those are fun. You need a lot of extensions and a knuckle if you're doing it on your own.

Latest episode of X-Files (EP5) is terrible

I just started watching Suits recently. What a show, absolutely brilliant. The charisma of the main characters is spot on and they're really endearing to the viewer. Ripped through the first season in 3 days lol. I'm still enjoying the following: Arrow - Scoop the brain out action show. Comic book hero without any superpowers. Goes hand in hand with the Flash. Felicity Smoak is smoking! Ash Vs the Evil Dead - This finished recently but I really enjoyed it. You need to be an Evil Dead and a Bruce Campbell fan to enjoy this, if you are.... you'll love it! Daredevil - I watched this a while back but thought I would mention it again as I believe Season 2 is coming. Much darker than most shows on TV and they don't always go in the direction you think they will. Very refreshing IMO and I loved the show. Elementary - Modern day Sherlock Holmes, pretty decent and good fun at times. Limitless - It's a little soft compared to how it started off but the characters are all fairly likeable. Guy takes pill which makes him a complete genius, spin off from the film. Lucifer - This is really enjoyable, the main character is brilliant. Quirky fun humour and very easy to follow, good old brain out fun with the Devil. What's not to like? Sherlock - New season is about to start filming. If you haven't watched this I seriously recommend you give it a go. Don't have any misconceptions about this. In my opinion there's one poor episode and it can only be considered poor in comparison to the other Sherlocks as it's still a good watch. Slight downfall is 90 minute long episodes, my Wife struggled. Suits - Aforementioned. Really getting into this. Supergirl - I know... I know.... but I'm a huge Superman fan. There's hot chicks in it too. It's definitely not for everyone though, you should know from the title if you will like it The Flash - Much the same as Arrow to be honest. He mostly fights criminals with powers. Strange how he is one of VERY few "good" guys to gain powers from a lightening storm The X-Files - The new season is a bit strange for me. I'm enjoying it but I didn't get the nostalgic feeling that I was expecting. The 3rd episode is down right bizarre. Things I need to get back into: From Dusk Till Dawn - I fairly enjoyed the first season of this but I fell away in the 2nd. I'll probably take it up again when I'm really bored Minority Report - I watched a few episodes of this but it didn't draw me in enough to keep going with the other stuff I have on. Looks decent enough though. True Detective - I've heard people raving about this. I tried the first episode but I found it really boring. Given the reviews I need to try this one again. Vikings - I watched the first 2 seasons and quite enjoyed it. Again, not enough pull for me right now but I will go back to it. X-Files is a tricky one. Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUGE fan and I love the series.... but I tried to watch them all back to back a few years back and I got really sick of the show. It's a lot to take in in one purge to be honest. Best spread out over a while

If its a cold start issue the 10w should help as I'm guessing you're a fairly hot climate for the most part? I would get that in and get the stem seals done when you can. As long as you aren't pouring reek out your exhaust it's fairly harmless.

Me thinking I know better doesn't make me go around trying to contradict everything I read from people. I have a varied range of knowledge ascertained, in the Supra at least, mostly from my time on this forum. I'll accept that most of it is from people who I believe know better than me and who's opinion I value, but that doesn't mean I don't actually have any personal background in the sort of discussions we are having. You're very quick to snipe but very slow to actually add anything to a discussion that isn't contradicting someone else's comments. In this instance I have read plenty of people mention that oil gets past the seals when they start to get on in years, without any other issue. I apologise profusely if me wrongly saying rings instead of seals caused you so much angst, I genuinely wasn't giving my answer THAT much thought as I didn't feel it pertinent to the point... I'll try to do better in future. You're just a ray of sunshine on this forum though aren't you? Have you ever looked at your contribution to threads on this forum? Not being funny but it's as if you actively seek things to pick at. I noticed you focusing a bit of attention on me lately but having looked at your previous posts, I'm not taking it personally at all. Rather than having a discussion and suggesting that maybe I made a mistake with my terminology you just want to poke holes in the details as if you have something personal going on. With regards to this current discussion..... it shouldn't need a thicker oil, but it can help the starting issue without having to replace the stem seals. IMO that's the sort of information that the OP would be thankful of rather than trying to pick holes in a suggestion being made to him from another forum member while trying to help. You can disguise what you have said however you wish, if I hadn't contributed on this thread with some thoughts and suggestions my guess is that you wouldn't be here either as the last thing you would actually do is help someone without gaining some gratification from trying to ridicule another forum user. If peoples experience with the oil is completely wrong then I'm at the mercy of the knowledge on this forum, I genuinely don't know any better in that regard as I haven't experienced it. The fact that it starts fine after a service would suggest that I'm maybe onto something though..... would it not? As much as 5w30 may have been the recommendation at the time, I don't know anyone running an oil so thin. I run 5w40 now with a single turbo and fresh stem seals but I happily ran 10w50 for 5 years prior to doing the headwork, as was the recommendation in the oil faq at the time I made that decision (Silkolene 10w50 for BPU IIRC). I highly doubt that modern fully synthetic 10w50 oils would cause any issues with performance, drag or otherwise. No doubt you have some thoughts on how I'm wrong there also though. PS, you and my Wife would get on swimmingly.
-
Indeed... that's what I said. The warm viscosity of 5w40 is also thinner than 10w50 so when parking up and allowing the car to cool it can also creep past the seals. It's a very common occurrence with older cars and as I've said all along, 10w50 can help ease the issue until there is no saving it and the valve seals need replaced. I honestly feel like you argue with me sometimes just for the sake of arguing.

Stem seals. Drops into the chamber on cooldown and sits on the piston contaminating the initial burn. I always read that 40 was what Toyota recommended but in the UK as the cars are getting older 50 is more suited. I'm not talking about what temps the oils are good for, just how suited they are to the current situation with all the variables in play.
