  1. Sounds like a paddle clutch, they can be rather noisy at idle and are very grabby. As for no power until 4krpm, that's not right at all. Even in TTC mode the torque of the Supra running in N/A mode until 4krpm is reasonable for what it is. Why on earth did you buy it? Was it super cheap? Hopefully it's just a few small issues and not a dog.
  2. The tolerancing is supposedly quite tight but I'll give them a proper check in work before they go in
  3. Ideal, the 550KG stand I'm looking at is more than enough then. I don't often like Wiki, but I'm thinking it won't be THAT far out Thanks
  4. I take it the above OEMs are running with spacers though?
  5. Yeah that's no bother. Price includes postage anywhere in the UK anyway How do you want to pay? Can do BACS or Paypal, if the latter fees will need to be covered by either paying them or sending as a gift (if you are confirmed you get that for free). Cheers
  6. Pretty much, aim for all of the free ones to begin with for moneys sake. I got no hits from Autotrader but I did get a few from pistonheads. By "right places" I just meant all the ones that are local to you (Scotlandish).
  7. I'm looking at buying an engine stand, just wondering what sort of weight I should be looking to handle? Thought I would add in that the 6spd Gearbox weighs just over 50KG
  8. They usually go for a lot less. I think I paid £165 for them in total (postage etc). Not sure why they have hiked the price up so much.
  9. I can see no gain whatsoever in doing that. I take it you mean cutting off the stock roof and welding on an aerotop roof?
  10. Cheers Tony. I'm fitting new springs and retainers so I think I'll aim on the large end of the tolerance, your reasoning is what I was looking for. I'll check with the manufacturers on the sizes/limits though. I would do the work myself but I don't have access to the machines anymore
  11. The problem is that stock BHP on one dyno can equal -20hp on another dyno or even +20hp on another. This is the reason SRR is often mentioned. It's not to say it's spot on... it's just the bar that we use. The measuring stick if you will.
  12. Normally I would always aim for mid limit. I just have something in my head telling me that I read something that said it was better to tolerance particular cams one way. I'm not sure if it was due to them being more agressive or whether it was down to them being a different make etc. Obviously with stock it would be mid tolerance.
  13. Just to make you aware, if you advertise in the right places you will get a little more in Scotland than in England. The cars are a lot rarer up here so get a few ££s more.
  14. Ahaahh, so that's the Duke Nukem that's caused all the fuss on facebook today. I was wondering.

    Hey hey

If you're here for the long haul you might be as well firing in the £30 for lifetime membership Welcome btw. Where in Strathy are you from?
  16. Noone else fitted their own cams?
  17. You said earlier that most manage 250 at BPU levels? I must admit to seeing VERY few 230hp N/As and none of them have been at the Dyno's that we accept as a baseline figure.
  18. Fair enough I guess, putting in known wrong data to a FAQ seems just as meaningless to me though.
  19. That's impressive. I'm surprised they managed a mid 4 stock. I've seen that N/A time quoted before, not seen a 4.6 quoted for TT though.
  20. I was probably one of them writing my post too lol.
  21. 2 plates fit on the TT, the block being the same I would have to assume it would fit an N/A-T. You may need to get a shorter oil filter though, I have read different accounts on this. One person said it was fine with stock, the other said he needed a K&N filter. You could remove the small stock oil cooler to gain an extra inch or so, that's what I plan on doing.
  22. That's my point though, IMO there is no official data on the Jspec as Toyota lied about the performance attributes of it. If it is accepted that the Jspec has the same power as the UK spec then, IMO, it should also be accepted that the performance statistics would be the same or at least incredibly similar. Certainly not 0.6 of a second slower.
