  1. That's my point really. Hopefully a few eyes will be opened regarding vehicle security. Having your car stolen from a stand is a bad state of affairs though.
  2. It's countdown mate. How long would it take you to hide a car? If the car has a destination there is a chance, if it's parts then... unfortunately... I would say it is gone. Bespoke parts might trace the origin. Hope I'm wrong though. I just know what I could do on the wrong side of this situation.
  3. Not really sure on the circumstances then. Not going to boot the owner when they are down though. At the end of the day the person that took it is nothing but scum, things could probably have been done to prevent it but at the end of the day they shouldn't REALLY need to be.
  4. With the keys in Gareth? If so the finger has to be pointed at the owner, why would security stop a car that is being driven out that looks legit afterall
  5. Yeah yeah, heard that one before.

Definitely costly, hopefully the quality is there though. Also, you have to think of it not as a lighter, but as a piece of memorabilia. I personally wouldn't spend any money on a lighter as I don't smoke, but I would happily spend that sort of money on something rare and supra related.
  7. I can think of better methods

    Neeeew Guuuy!

    Looks mint mate, welcome

    Hey hey

    No you aren't dude.
  10. Is that an offer I'd be happy with that. I'll check the condition but from what I remember they were mint.
  11. Coolio, it was just a kind of follow on from the questioning of the weight.
  12. I reckon we are probably in similar situations partner wise mate. I'm not quite sure how to ask to be honest
  13. I'm pretty sure the power figures are wrong for the Jspec, even the 300hp one (one off test?). Do you know if the stock boost levels are the same Darryl? If they are then I would suggest that the power figures would be very similar as both sets of turbos are similarly efficient. At 1.2bar both engines make around 400hp. I know the cams on the UK spec make a little bit of a difference, hence the torque differences with the Jspec being a little higher, but I would be surprised if at the same boost levels a UK spec was making almost 30hp more. That would mean UK specs would be good for 470+HP @1.3bar.

You do realise you need to buy me one for helping you? I don't smoke either, I just like owning Supra stuff
  15. How on earth did they manage to jack the car in a stand? Were the keys left in it? Sorry to see the owner losing their car like this but they must have a 'stupidity' hand in it somewhere.
  16. I've got a set of 17" Facelift Centre caps. Any ideas what the going rate is? I'm going to stick them up for sale but I don't want to rip anyone off but at the same time I don't want to undersell them. I can't for the life of me remember what I paid for them. Thanks
  17. I certainly wouldn't pay that for it. I got some nice carpet from RobD the other day. Might make a supra mat from it
  18. It's a lot less than it's worth, easily 10k IMHO, but the trouble is selling at the value rather than the market value. It's tough times at the moment mate so I know it can be difficult. Plus points are the colour, it's facelift, it's mostly original and it has my mint seats That's before going into the wheels etc etc. Still far too cheap though, your cutting your own throat..... but as long as you get what you need that's all that matters. Someone is going to get a cracker
  19. Yeah I remember seeing that in the manual. I'm guessing it's not as easy as putting it together, measuring the shim I need, stripping it & fitting the shim then rebuilding it? I take it the measurements may only be accurate for that particular "build" and by stripping it slight alterations may be made in the build process? I'll be starting the strip down process in August but I will most likely have the build of the head started well before then (due to curiosity). If you are happy to be without them for a little while I will happily, and greatfully, borrow them off you. I do afterall like to do a job properly and I certainly don't want to scratch any of my shiney bits My main concern would be any time constraints as I have a full time job (often riddled with overtime) and a family life. I wouldn't want to put you out mate and I would have no way of knowing when I could get them back to you.
  20. Another one of the things I want to have just for the sake of having
  21. Bit surprised to see this to be honest mate. I'm sure you have thought long and hard about it though. Far too cheap though, you are really underselling your car. Certain new members influencing your decision?
  22. At first I couldn't see where you were going with that. Now...... genius
