  1. Forgetting about that, will be a good comparison although as you have traction now it might not be a fair one Go for 210 just so that you can call it a true 200
  2. I am indeed, so old that I barely remember it
  3. Yeah, I don't think anyone is expecting full boost by 2.5krpm though lol. With the 8.5krpm you must have a good 3k-4k of proper boost? Don't get that with a BPU lol.
  4. Na, that's generally FTP What I remember looked pretty much like newsgroups. http://www.lisisoft.com/imglisi2/1/8/182610-newsgroup-commander-pro.gif
  5. I think you would be hard pushed to get 5k for it in the market as it is just now. There are Auto N/A examples going for less than 2k at the moment unfortunately. Of course there is a lot of money in this car but unfortunately it just doesn't add up to the sum of its parts. In order to get anything decent for the car and be anywhere near what it's worth you would have to break it IMO.
  6. I could be wrong but newsgroups remind me of the land of the net without websites. I remember years ago, when a 28kbps modem cost around £300, that my cousin used to sit and browse what I could only describe as newsgroups. To be honest I think that's what they were but I just don't remember lol. If you ever saw the internet before it was the internet, it is like browsing newsgroups.
  7. It's amazing how far the technology has come. Your car is fun & driveable wheras not THAT long ago 800hp meant a lag monster. To think how much air that turbo is flowing to crack out 2.2bar of pressure at 8500rpm (I think that's your limt?) and also cold enough not to create det is just unbelievable. It would be interesting to see where the upper limit is on the turbo regarding pump fuel, definitely a monster regardless
  8. Are you going to push the boost Jamie? What do you reckon the boost limit will be on pump fuel for that turbo? The efficiency range is also very high if it's keeping the temps low enough for 2.2
  9. Everyday is a school day Imagine your disappointment if you got nice new shiney LEDs and they were still just as dull
  10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usenet_newsgroup
  11. Right hand side next to the steering wheel there is a knob with a picture of a bulb on it. Turn it clockwise to increase the brightness The lights should be reasonably bright regardless of age, they are just a bit of an ageing green colour
  12. Got to laugh at that. Who in thier right mind would believe any of that? A stock Z06 does a better quarter than that and no need to even start on the Koenigsegg.
  13. I couldn't care less if it is fibre optic at my door or not, as long as I get the service I'm paying for (20mb) then I am happy. The line to your house can cope with FAR more than 20, 50, 100, 200mb. I don't know exactly how much more, but I'm sure it's easily into the GB of bandwidth before the relatively short length of copper would become an issue. The main VM network is fibre optic, which is where it really matters as it needs the ridiculously high bandwidth to keep full networks of people happy. Copper wire to peoples doorstep has never been the bottle neck, loss of signal over the copper wire is where it can become a problem hence why BT customers get issues the further they are from the exchange, but the relatively short lengths of cable that we have (50m or so) certainly won't cause any problems. I could understand if you weren't getting the speeds that you should be getting, are you not? But I don't see the issue here to be honest.
  14. The basic rule is, if you have a cable coming to your house you have cable lol. If it's through the phoneline it's just like all the rest. I don't think I have light going into my modem though?
  15. I have no idea what you are on about. All is fine here. Woohoo!!!
  16. Not really sure how to describe them to be honest. If you are with virgin I think you get basic access to them, I know I used to although I haven't checked for a while. Basically you can upload and download files to/from them. Depending on the provider they will easily max out your connection. I don't know how fast they will allow as they maxed out my mates 50Mb line no bother lol.
  17. Not really sure what you mean? Cable has been fibre since the Telepest & NTHell days. Noone on the VM Broadband service will get less than what it says on the tin as it's the modem and config file that caps the speed, not the infrastructure. Even at peak times the only slow down you will ever meet is when you download more than what VM deem as fair, during which times they will cap you a certain amount. I can't remember what the figures are but IMO they are reasonable. I've been with Telewest through to VM, right from the introduction of broadband in the UK. I started off with a 512Kb line, and have progressed to through the years on the maximum available tariff until 20mb (I refuse to give them the money for 50mb at the moment). Not once during my entire time have I had anything less than advertised. Same goes for everyone I know that has been with them. A lot of people confuse their speed with the download speeds they get on torrents etc, where you will only recieve as fast as the peers can give. The best way to check your internet speed is via newsgroups, even the speedtest.net service isn't very dependable. However, Virgin's ADSL service, I think it was previously called virginmedia.net or something like that, is just as bad as the rest of the ADSL services in the UK. The one major downfall in this case is that the customer service is absolutely woeful making it one of the worst ADSL service providers. That's going from customer reviews and speaking to people who have had it, I haven't had any dealings with the .net service personally. Apologies if this comes out in all the one paragraph btw
  18. Just FYI when I first logged in this morning I don't think the new updates were in place. As you can see in this thread I was posting away quite merrily. It was around that time that the forum took a major slowdown and some links were failing to open, within 5-10 mins everything was right as rain again other than the carriage returns, edit button and the "todays posts" bit was added.
  19. I also keep hitting "Todays posts" instead of "Subscribed" due to the addition
  20. Possibly but everything worked fine until upgrades were put in place. As an example I was on the forum yesterday (in work) and didn't have any problems. It only happened this morning. Same thing happened with the garage content, it was after the big upgrade due to the security alert that they went south on.
  21. Only ever have issues with it on this forum though, garages still don't work for me but I accept that is because of it not being catered for. I guess this issue could be another of the same. As I say, it's just this forum I get the issues with (not that I'm on 100s lol). For now I guess when in work I'll need to be forgiven for writing everything in one paragraph Which reminds me, it isn't just links. It's carriage returns in general. Also I have to "open in new window" to get the edit button to work now. The quick editor never worked for me but if I clicked on it twice it would bring me into the full edit, now it does nothing so I need to right click and open it as described.
