  1. It isn't really a debate as the times are known. There isn't a lot between BPU autos and manuals when the drivers are good and there is a TC involved. The auto's just edge it. When you take away the TC the manuals are faster. Have a search for an in car video of a fast manual time and you will see the shifting that's required. One of our foreign members posted one a few years back. Think he got an 11.6 or something like that.
  2. Autos won't be faster, the manual drivers just need to have less sympathy. Hi stall is the only way to be quicker than a manual and even then it's marginal.
  3. That could have been a possible scenario of the person hadn't done a runner. The fact that he left the kid to die makes it far more serious.
  4. I guess we are reading it differently, I didn't read it as implying the driver was from anywhere in particular. The reference was to describe the previous incident. Eg.. Reminds me of the dog who ran over the cat. It wouldn't imply that the current offender was a dog, merely that one of the stand out recolations of the previous story was that the offender was a dog.
  5. I think he was referring to a prior incident. Similar in that the drivers had no regard for human life.
  6. I read this in the paper on Sunday I think. What makes this situation so much worse is the driver had the chance to save the lad. Thankfully this sort of scenario is usually delt with much more harshly than an accidental death. It will never be enough though.
  7. Thanks folks. Looks like she is going to lose unfortunately, gave it a good go though
  8. I would bet good money on that to be honest.
  9. Thats ok when you have everything apple and are happy to use the apple media formats, for anything else they are all a nightmare. Add up the cost of your setup, not a lot of kids or mums and dads can afford that sort of money, great as the setup sounds. IMO these devices must be judged on their own merits, they can't be hopeless on their own without spending 1000s in additional devices/equipment. The iPad as a piece of hardware is fantastic, no doubt. If you are happy with being told what format to use and are happy with the choices available then I would agree it's fantastic. If not then they are not by any means to be recommended unless you are very happy to fudge just about everything. I think the browser is the only thing I haven't touched as I get on quite well with it. And this is the point I'm making, as I have been saying from the beginning, none of the apple fans seem to mention these drawbacks when touting the products as the best. Seems that fashion is more dictating than useability. It's disappointing when you expect a product to be good based on people's opinions only to find out they are one sided and whiff of "what I have is best" rather than being objective. I know that it is to be expected, but the sheer magnitude of the beliefs of apple users led me to believe that my own opinion may be wrong with the iPad (I had never used one, I had some assumptions of what it would be like). Turns out the only things I presumed wrong were the browser and the onscreen keyboard which are fantatstic. The flash thing I knew about so I can't complain about that. Basically I'm saying don't listen to the hype and don't listen to the opinion of apple users, myself included, get your hands on the kit and test it to the lengths you want to use it. If you are not a mac orientated person with mac orientated formats then I warn you will be disappointed.
  10. Double post. After me saying how good the keyboard is too lol.
  11. Quite a bit down from their claims then. I don't understand how their horses are so much smaller. Be interesting to see what yours put down in the US.
  12. There is one major difference regarding the jail breaking vs rooting though. You don't need to root an android to get it to run unverified apps. You can install whatever you like with almost no restrictions. The only reason for rooting when it comes to apps is when the apps need to use secure devices on the phone, such as the wifi, etc. With iTunes you are totally limited to what is signed off by apple, no home brew or custom apps can be installed without iTunes say so. To be honest there isn't a huge benefit of rooting an android phone. The only app I use that needs it is wifi tether. Also, phones from htc will no longer have locked boot loaders. Htc listened to the consumer so we are having the cuffs taken off in that respect. No word of a lie, if this thing was running android it would be the best thing since sliced bread. The other companies need to get the finger out when it comes to making these tablets. They are getting there though.
  13. Was the kit all changed to V as well? Looks like an evo V from most angles. Good price for that kind of performance.
  14. One of the members on here got a mid 12 in their BPU running on 19's with normal road tyres so I reckon you can squeeze some more out of that spec on those tyres. The brand he was running escapes me, I'm thinking Michelin but I can't be sure what he said. Definitely going the right way though, well done
  15. Is he a relation of Apu? Well done Stu, that's certainly motoring.
  16. Jimmy Durante is springing to mind here, specifically the My Stepmother is an Alien version.
  17. It's a lovely car, can vouch for the owner also. Very friendly and honest guy. Good ad John, good luck with the sale.
  18. Hammerite will last a lot longer than 2years. Mine is still like new.
  19. Knowing that this has been covered a thousand times, did you actually use the search? There are MANY threads on this very subject, from projects to shopping lists, all covering exactly what you are after.
