  1. Mmmmm banana licquour.
  2. Considering the healthy die young and the unhealthy die old there is no timescale on longevity. When it's your time it's your time. Sure you can add some years by being good to your body, or takeaway some years by endulging etc, but for the best part it's a lottery. Average age tells you the age that bodies are generally designed to live to.
  3. Must admit I haven't seen the spec sheet yet Jazz. What's your source?
  4. Any reasons John? Looking for information on why to fit one over stock
  5. You threw him with the "bearing cap", I think that relates to the crankshaft rather than the camshaft. Could be wrong though Toyota should still be able to get you one for Saturday if Chris cant.
  6. Funny the first couple of times. I would laugh if my cat did that, but I would be in after them after the first attempt. Poor thing was seriously distressed after a few dunks.
  7. All just freshly painted with some fancy schmancy aerospace enamel paint stuff. They have been painted the same way and using the same paint as the ones in my engine bay were. Mine look exactly the same now as the day I had them painted so they certainly last well enough with the temps etc. I doubt ordinary paint would stand up to the engine bay temps and I know of at least 1 person who had some bits powdercoated only to have them flake off very quickly. I'm not looking for any returns or part exchanges or anything like that, the price is to own them. The sensors etc you can see are all included. It would probably be best to swap yours over though as I cannot guarantee them and I know one of them is fubarred (plug end snapped). £200 for the lot posted in the UK. I'm happy to split but the turbo pipes will be going as a set. http://www.mkivsuprastar.com/Supra/Engine%20Bay%20WIP/IMG_2314-900.jpg
  8. Thanks mate That was my thinking of it all, I couldn't see how the earlier action would mean the flow changed once everything was up to temp. I'm not fussed about it opening earlier, I don't need to worry about the temps rocketing due to tracking etc..... if the day ever comes I'll take the stat out
  9. That's the way I feel about it too, I just couldn't get past the ridiculous "modified looks old" comments just because those folks prefer stock.
  10. I think my car looks way more modern than a stock Supra. I know everyone is biased to their own opinion here but to be cut and dry and say that stock looks more modern than modified is just unbelievably naive...... IMO I had to bring in my V5 6 months ago, to prove the age of my car as one of the guys in work didn't believe me. If that's not a convincer for how modern it is I don't know what is.
  11. Get the proper graph up for a gander then Glad you reached your goal mate, been a long time coming for you. Worth it??
  12. Thanks folks, I don't suppose anyone has the part number handy do they?
  13. The stock stat is 82 degrees though? Would that not mean yours is running a little high?
  14. If you are sat in traffic I doubt the thermostat would make a difference as both would be fully open regardless.
  15. Yeah that's what I was thinking to be honest. I wasn't sure if there would be an upside to having the engine run cooler though?
  16. Having a little dig around the forum it would appear that the 71 degrees thing is actually where the thermostat opens therefor running the engine a little cooler. Noticed a few comments from CW that this would be detremental to the efficiency of the engine fuelwise. Anyone noticed any difference running them? If it will genuinely help my car then I want to get it (even if I lose a little fuel econemy), I don't want to get it if it's just a TRD gimmick or race only kind of thing. Cheers guys.
  17. As above really. I've not looked into the price of a stock one so I don't know if the TRD one will be way over the odds or not (£80). According to the writeup the TRD maintains a valve temperature of 71 degrees allowing better flow? Thanks
  18. Check the coolant temperature sensor. That stopped my car from starting after the battery was disconnected and re-connected

    Omg done it!

    That's a funny name for a guy Welcome Gail_316
  20. Best of luck Jamie. Busy month for you and the car, that's what it's all about though eh
  21. I probably drive mine less than you H. Mine rarely comes out of the garage nowadays but I still wouldn't consider selling it. When I do take it out it just makes it all the more special. It HAS to be manual for me though, like yourself I just don't enjoy the auto experience. If I was using my Supra as an everyday car the Auto box would probably be a luxury. But for when you just want to go out for a wee run, nothing beats the 6spd IMO. You need to have the mindframe that the Supra isn't really your car, it's your toy. If you can live with that then I see no reason to sell. Obviously you need something sensible for the mundane but there must be a compromise somewhere surely?
  22. For old times sake I would love to post up the picture that time forgot, you know the one with the girl and her puppies, unfortunately it is just a tad NWS In fact I think I got sent that picture in an email before instant messaging had even started lol.
