  1. Have you seen the price of hybrid twins? Ok so in your opinion it's 1k for the turbo and 1k for the manifold (what turbo and manifold are you buying??? I'm getting a new 67mm dbb turbo for similar money as an example), that's buying QUALITY parts. Take into consideration what you can spend and still be reliable, cast manifold & precision non billet non dbb turbo..... still 600hp easy. For what was spent on the 500hp hybrid twin supra you could EASILY have had a 500hp single supra. Trust me, if you do the maths on what was possible for that budget it doesn't add up.
  2. I think the components are the same in the facelift/pre-facelift side of things. I think the only difference is software/ecu related. But there is a fiar difference. Also there is a "snow mode" in the facelift cars which isn't on the pre-facelift cars.
  3. There is a mechanical feel to a clutch pedal though, you can feel the biting point through it. In fairness you would probably get used to the biting point so after a while you would get used to it, but for the feel..... I think it would be difficult to get used to.
  4. How much you wanna bet? I have quite the collection
  5. Do you have the same system that's in the facelift? I must say that the TC in my car is miles better than pre-facelift...... as I found out first hand I found that the pre-facelift TC only activates in the smell of pant pooping.
  6. 430hp on cams and an ECU, dyno proven. Someone got almost 500hp out of hybrids...... with every modification that a single requires though.
  7. To be honest I doubt you would see anything. I think JPs point is that it's what he would do..... just to see more than anything. To maximise the potential kind of thing. I could be wrong though
  8. Sounds like a great idea for a bit of innovation but I don't think it would be particularly nice to drive due to the tough to find biting point. If you can live with that then I think it's a great thing to try out. As said, not sure how you would actuate the clutch, would need to be similar to the throttle only much more heavy duty.
  9. He mentioned it in jest given the amount of auto vs manual threads there have been
  10. To be honest I lost interest. Too much oneupsmanship and not enough fun for my liking. You take over Josh
  11. Tell them to take their mask off ffs.
  12. I know the transmission etc in the R35 is a lot better than what is seen in the auto supra but surely the fact that you have AWD would mean it would be a LITTLE bit more than 20%. I don't think it would be as much as 25% as they are very efficient considering (well from what I have read anyway) but I would say more than 20. Not that it matters though, AWHP is where it's at IMO, no bullshit or umming and ahhing in that figure
  13. Nothing is worth it once you hit around 400hp. THe maximum you are going to get is 430hp and the only real way you would tell is on a dyno or at the dragstrip (that extra 0.1 second gained). You can make the car run a little better through the range but unless you plan on going single at some point it's just not worth it IMO.
  14. You missed out changing his name to CJ
  15. If you follow this guide do NOT put your oven to 200 degrees, you will cook your lights. 100 degrees is PLENTY.
  16. That was kind of my thinking. The stock system will run around 90 degrees. It won't really matter how much of a lower thermostat you have in there as it will only come into play at the level it opens at until the level it sits at normally.
  17. There has to be a bottom level though, there has to be a point where the stat is fully open all of the time and the system is running at it's coolest. You couldn't stick in a 20 degree stat and see 20 degree temps for example.
  18. So you're saying that running a TRD stat would see constant 74 degree temps?
  19. Ahh, I'm sure there's a logical explanation somewhere
  20. I think so, I can't be sure of what would actually be required though.
  21. Once you overtake Lee's "Mallets Mallet" thread you will have something to shout about
