  1. Oh just remembered. Before I took the turbos off I did a compression test..... 1 - 147 2 - 143 3 - 145 4 - 147 5 - 145 6 - 143 Quite happy with that. It's amazing how much you fear the worst before doing a test like that. I'll need to try and remember to do the test again once the new head is on
  2. I'll be a happy man if I never have to remove a set of stock tubbys again. I don't know how the traders can be bothered with that job, it's a royal PITA. Anyway 3 hours later and the job is done.... Thankfully my hands seem to have survived the carnage. Time to chill with the family
  3. I wouldn't touch powder coating. Doesn't seem to last as long as it should. I really don't want to use a spray though Chris, which is the main issue really. The hammerite is great on brake calipers (far better than brake caliper paint). I was just thinking of hard wearing paint really
  4. Yeah they are very rare. I hadn't even seen one or heard of one till I bought this. I know of 3 now (including yours and mine lol). I absolutely love it, the fact that it's a gauge as well kills 2 birds with 1 stone
  5. They are different sizes bud. I used a bit of silicone hose with a plug insert in the end.
  6. It would appear my bum dyno is quite well calibrated
  7. No idea about the cruise control. I've only ever ran the car on vpower as well. I wouldn't recommend going any lower to be honest but that's the same with all jspecs. My tacho might be out but I find 7k the best for fast driving. Not sure about drag racing though.
  8. No good to me unfortunately. Going single so the ecu will be dealing with the boost control.
  9. I absolutely love this boost controller. Fits very nicely in the cabin heater vent so is completely unobtrusive. It's very easy to setup and about as user friendly as it gets. Comes complete ready to fit, I'll even throw in the silicone boost lines that I have if the buyer wants them (they are red). 60mm dial controller. It has 2 boost settings and a scramble feature. You can set all 3 to the levels you want. It also has a peak button to show the maximum boost you are hitting. Accurate to 2 decimal places also. One of the best features of this boost controller is that due to it's design it makes for a great boost gauge. Very accurate and instant reaction to change. £200 posted http://www.mkivsuprastar.com/Supra/Interior/IMG_6463-1000.jpg http://www.mkivsuprastar.com/Supra/Interior/IMG_6470-1000.jpg http://www.mkivsuprastar.com/Supra/Engine%20Bay%20WIP/IMG_6482-1000.jpg
  10. Without cams there isn't really a great benefit as the power does start to tail off quite noticeably. However, the stock limit is rubbish so being able to take your changes up to around 7200/7500 makes a huge difference IMO. 8k in a stock setup is pointless, the option to change up at 7.3k is fantastic though.
  11. I've always had this ecu in my car but I have driven quite a few TTs and none of them have felt as responsive and aggressive as mine. When my car was running 0.9bar due to a fault I still pulled away from another tt running 1.1. I guess it's a suck it and see thing regarding that front, the main advantages are the lack of wiring and additional boxes really. In fact someone with a Delimiter and fcd could get a fair bit of money back swapping them out for this lol.
  12. As above. Runs as stock with all the added tricks.... Remapped more aggressively throughout the rev range. Fuel cut removed. Speed limiter removed. Rev limit set to 8000rpm. Stock boost raised to 1.1 bar. As you can see above it has a lot of advantages over the stock ecu. For me the main one was the fact I didn't need to splice into the looms in order to fit FCDs and Delimiter chips. £300 posted plus I'll need a stock tt 6spd ecu in exchange.
  13. Sorry forgot to mention that. They are for jspec. I'll get some quotes for shipping and get back to you
  14. As above, full set just removed. Have been cleaned etc and look perfect. I don't know if it makes any difference but they are from a pre-facelift head. Pics to follow. £100 posted
  15. As above. I have quite a few of them (had some as spares). Let me know which one(s) you are after, part number would be preferrable. I'll check the resistance of each one, as per the manual, prior to posting. £10ea posted.
  16. As above. Straight out of my engine. Not a lot of miles on them since cleaning/painting (around 2k) but they still look as fresh they did the day I had them painted. They were done with paint that goes on aeroplane engines. It can stand extreme heat and it is very very tough stuff. My cam covers were done in the same stuff and they also look like new. Unlike powder coating these won't fall to pieces after a few k miles Will be sending out the lot including the couplings etc etc (no use to me anymore) so you can basically swap over an entire assy if you choose. Pictures to follow. £80 posted
  17. The can of hammerite smooth actually comes up ok if you use a decent brush (done a set of calipers). I really didn't like how runny the hammerite aerosols were. Also, I would be worried about paint in the exhaust & intake ports etc. It would take a LOT of masking for something that is hardly visible, in order to do a proper job.
  18. As above. Couple of 1000 miles on both, I rarely drive my car so it doesn't see a lot of miles (3k in 3 years). Both 3" straight through stainless steel. 1st decat has an EGT & AFR bung IIRC. Pictures etc to follow. £140 for the complete set posted. (both decats and a restrictor) £75 per decat posted £5 per restrictor ring posted (I have 2)
  19. As above. Removing this exhaust as I am going single. 3.25" straight through exhaust system. Stunning exhaust with a very nice throaty tone to it. My favourite at this level by a mile. Comes with silencing bung Pictures etc to follow £300 + P&P
  20. Anyone done this? I'm looking to paint mine black but I'm not 100% sure how to go about it or what paint to use. I was thinking that the best idea would be to use black hammerite and apply it by brush so that I didn't need to worry about masking etc. Any pointers? I know the hammerite takes the temperature that the brakes put out no bother so I can't see the head getting anywhere near those temps. Any help would be appreciated.
  21. Scott

    some new pics

Bit much for my liking. Any interior shots? Looks like a nice trim
  22. Can't believe you're getting rid of all the OEM stuff. Was quite a collection you had gathered.
  23. Na, I'm capping it at 700 to save the engine..... not me lol. Whatever boost makes around that figure is what the max will be. I'm thinking about building a spare engine though
